  • This video shows how to fix a top load Samsung washer that keeps adding time to a spin cycle and eventually gives a UE/UR code. The washer will leave the cloth wet and often times can make clicking/banging noises. The video covers how to replace the suspension rods on any newer style Samsung top load washing machine. The model in the video is WA5451ANWXAA. This video is part of my series "Free on Facebook" in which I find things for free and show you how to repair, recycle, or repurpose them.

You are a freaking genius. This was my exact problem ... the dreaded UE CODE. And, the damned thing resets the time (or bounces it back about 15 minutes), and mine will go infinitely and never gets the clothese dry. I think it is almost finishing the spin, but then it is unlevel or not loaded correctly (it thinks). So, it will stop, show the UE code, then add more water and set the time back about 10-15 minutes. And, it never gets to the point of the final spin. So, the clothes come out wet. My washer is this one: Samsung = WA48H7400AW, 4.8 cu ft., top load. Thus, I bet your suggestion will fix the issue. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I finally got the parts and am planning to fix it myself. Also, I subbed.

Do you remember how the back right rod went in? My parents have the 5471abw model, and I've got three corners finished. The fourth, it looks like someone took a tube or cable and wrapped it around the suspension rod a couple of times that's gonna make removing it fun. Other videos talk about a clip holding everything apart, and there just isn't one in mine. I tried finding a service model online, but what comes up does not look like our machine (and it's a pretty sad excuse of a service manual). Your machine is a closer match, but we have six buttons under the display on the left side instead of the four on yours. Wondering if this style is just done like this or if we had an installer go crazy - it's a real dick move.

Yes, that is the pressure tube. You will have maneuver around it on unplug it from the tub side, then undo it from the rod. Remember to plug it back in. Otherwise, your washer will not know how much water to fill to!

@DuctTapeMechanic Thanks! I ended up taking the back off, too, because I could barely move the top (which had two bolts added in the recall repair and needed a wrench to remove - I wanna say it was a 12mm or something slightly larger) and wanted a better look. Cables for the electronics were held to the back of the machine by a BUNCH of twist ties. Undoing those gave me enough slack to get the lid out of the way. When wrapping up, I didn't loop that pressure tube back around the suspension rod and instead gathered it with the wiring to attach to the back. Just made sure it had a bit of slack. Haven't tried laundry yet, but I was able to run through quick wash with an empty tub without issue filling, spinning, or draining, so at least I didn't introduce more problems!
(For anyone else with this model, when dealing with the bolts, stuff an old towel or something between the wall and the tub to avoid dropping them. They are a pain to locate - they'll most likely fall into the frame along the bottom.)
