I'd like to see Bruce rewrite this to cover Covid and current times. I listen to this almost daily to remind myself who I am and what I've always so that I can keep moving forward. Thankyou Bruce!
The nurses did do so much to take care of us. I was behind a nurse in the grocery store and she said she was overworked and barely sleeping. I wanted to hug her but covid :( As for the government, in general they didn’t take care of us. Hogan did a phenomenal job in MD though!
Bruce Springsteen proved once again why he is still and always will be "The Boss" with his performance of this song with The E Street Band on last nights Grammys.
Hammer Typ,Hammer Band,Hammer Musik, selbst nach mehr als vierzig Jahren Fan läuft mir bei vielen seiner Songs noch die Gänsehaut auf! Einfach nur Wahnsinn, besser geht nicht!!!
I love this song for the very same reason. Inspires the soul a little bit. The generation before passes a strong flame to the next. Sadly, that flame here is slowly burning out. Bruce holds that flame and lets it shine bright. Gotta love The Boss.

This song is hope for the days that we live. And reminds me the wrecking ball album, tour and first time that I saw him on live show at 2012 Madrid when I was 17. He's simply THE BOSS. Thank you Bruce! Greetings from Asturias, Spain.

This is one of the best songs Springsteen has ever done! Incredible lyrics and message!Totally from his heart. I do not think he could fake the sincerity even if he wanted to!
I just finished listening to Wishing which I enjoyed back in the early 80s. Aside from some similar opening drum beats I really cannot hear any " theft"" of music. To me these essentially sound like two totally different songs!
The first LP I ever bought was " Greetings" and still the best rock concert I've ever seen was Bruce & The E Street band at The Melbourne Showgrounds in the 80's.After almost 40 years, his music still moves & inspires me to be a better man. Thank you, Bruce.
I just love that he walks together with them other folks in the end (right side of screen). He blends in perfectly, because when you get down to it, he's just a human, just like everyone else. And unlike many other celebrities, he knows this, and clings on to his roots. He may be rich, but he hasn't changed at heart.
this is the song that came on right before my dog had to go into the vet to be put down, cant help but cry every time i listen to it ever since. I'm just really grateful that brucie makes music, i hope he comes over to Ireland this year, would definitely need tickets.
We Take Care Of Our Own ,paroles et musique Bruce Springsteen I've been knockin' on the door that holds the throne I've been lookin' for the map that leads me home I've been stumblin' on good hearts turned to stone The road of good intentions has gone dry as bone We take care of our own We take care of our own Wherever this flag's flown We take care of our own From Chicago to New Orleans From the muscle to the bone From the shotgun shack to the Superdome There ain't no help the cavalry's stayed home There ain't no-one hearing the bugle blown We take care of our own We take care of our own Wherever this flag's flown We take care of our own Where the eyes, the eyes with the will to see Where the hearts, that run over with mercy Where's the love that has not forsaken me Where's the work that set my hands, my soul free Where's the spirit that'll reign, reign over me Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea Wherever this flag is flown Wherever this flag is flown Wherever this flag is flown We take care of our own We take care of our own Wherever this flag's flown We take care of our own We take care of our own We take care of our own Wherever this flag's flown We take care of our own (Source : LyricFind)
The brillant thing about this song is that it encapsulates both the "conservative" and the "liberal" ideology in a way that inspires true patriotism in all...."We take care of our own"...both as individuals responding to need and crisis AND as a GOVERNMENT (which the Founding Fathers noted was founded to secure our liberites and do things we, as individuals, couldn't effectively do). Yes, we here in the U.S.A. take care of our own, BOTH through individual action AND governmental action. We ROCK!

Seasons come and Seasons go. The fall of America and the end of The American Dream is a season that I do not wish to experience. In my heart, I have always admired Clint Eastwood and Bruce Springsteen. They always seemed to love America and wanted what is best for WE The People. I would never hesitate to vote for either one of them.
tks for all your music MR.SPRINGSTEEN ... I FEEL SO LUCKY TO BE IN THIS PERIOD OF TIME IN WHICH I VE BEEN ENJOYING ALL YOUR SONGS AND THE ENERGY IT AWAKES INSIDE ME FOR 40 YEARS GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU FAMILY . ALSO I HAVE TO SAY THTA THIS SONG HITS ME SO DEEP AND TKS FOR CREATING CONSCIOUSNESS I CANT HELP LOVING AND ADMIRING YOU HELLO FROM MEXICO
In a way, I always have and I'm in my 40s. Nothing is certain, good comes and goes. I remember I read a quote by Bruce: "We must remember that everyday bad things, even terrible things will happen. More importantly, you have to remember that there is just as much of an opportunity for good things, even great things to happen...we have to be the ones to help those great things along".
Bruce Springsteen is the American dream. He comes from very humble beginnings, and made it big. He knows what it's like to be poor and to struggle. He knows what it's like for a family to need groceries and not have alot of money to buy them. We do take care of our own, and the boss never turned his back on us. Republicans don't have the monopoly on success or patriotism. In America, we all have a voice, Bruce Springsteen is simply amplifying many of those voices.
@Slave2PaperWithInkOn When they riot, loot, burn, break windows and attack cops, yes we do. We need to teach those "children" they are wrong and that there are consequences to breaking the law.
As a 19 year old, I was introduced to this song by my step dad, Tom Nider. Not only this song, but Bruce Springstien as an artist. Tom was my second dad, but the closest thing to a father figure I've ever had. My current dad doesn't do much but sit around the house. But I get it. It ain't because he's lazy, he's just very very depressed right now. Tom and my bio mom are currently going through a divorce right now, but Tom will always be my dad, and the grandpa to my kids. (If I have any lol). But Tom, I know just how much you love Bruce, and I am so happy you introduced me to him. I'm so sorry I had to be such a hard child to deal with, and I regret not spending more time with you. I wish I could've rode with you on the Ducati, or gone fishing more. I wish I would've eaten every single meal you made, instead of just going out to eat by myself every night. I love you, Tom. All though I doubt he will ever see this, you never know what could happen in the future. He loves Bruce, so maybe he will look this up on RUclips one day and read the comments.
if he left that kind of an impact on you, then he'd be utterly delighted to see this from you. maybe youve told him since, but if not then speaking as someone who has similar thoughts about their stepmom, it's such an uplifting experience.
Yes! We should take care of everyone all over the world not just “our own” Not that we do that good a job taking care of our own as a whole 🙁Double irony??
I like that at 3:32, you can see Bruce in the crowd slightly to the right of the center. Not in the foreground, not really in focus. He walks with the everyman. While he'll always be the Boss of my life, I still feel he's on "our" level, and that he truly, actually, not-cynically, cares for the struggles of the working man. Love you Bruce.
I am 15 and am a huge Springsteen fan, when all of my mates and the people who go to my school all listen to what's in the charts. I outcastes but wouldn't have it any other way!:)
Was the same for me when was 15, and now I'm 15 years older. Let's make sure that this will never ends, it's an never-ending story and we have to keep our heads up high!
207 ppl have NO CLUE Since i was a 12 year old boy, Bruce stands at my Side, good and bad days, another great # UNDER-SKIN-GOING- SONG uThe Boss for life !!! GO ON Bruce
I wanted to add does not matter what country u live in. I love the principle that we take care of our own, neighbours, our little land in NZ with our probs or us the "big land" Probs are the same - we the working folk struggling along keep sharing and caring... GO THE BOSS - THE BRUCE...
This song makes me SCREAM!!!! With the windows, I used to look through, but tonight it is without you. Then knowing there is no home to be alone. It's gone by the light of the dead. We don't get to choose to close that door ever again. I wish the people to know who stood in the doorway of that forgotten home. Will they ever know this house wasn't alone? It bleeds with a history of forgotten dreams & sorrows of the tomorrows that will never come because it's done... Our history of that home!!
Anyone listening to this great song love it 2024 July 🎸🎸🎸❤️❤️❤️🎤☘️☘️☘️🍀

We Take Care Of Our Own ,paroles et musique Bruce Springsteen
I've been knockin' on the door that holds the throne
I've been lookin' for the map that leads me home
I've been stumblin' on good hearts turned to stone
The road of good intentions has gone dry as bone
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own
From Chicago to New Orleans
From the muscle to the bone
From the shotgun shack to the Superdome
There ain't no help the cavalry's stayed home
There ain't no-one hearing the bugle blown
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own
Where the eyes, the eyes with the will to see
Where the hearts, that run over with mercy
Where's the love that has not forsaken me
Where's the work that set my hands, my soul free
Where's the spirit that'll reign, reign over me
Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea
Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea
Wherever this flag is flown
Wherever this flag is flown
Wherever this flag is flown
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own

Love this.. so Bruce.. Glad to see the band back even after the trauma of losing two vital members these past few years.
It took six guys to fill Clarence's spot. But they still sound great.

A friend of mine recommended at school that I try listening to Bruce Springsteen's music, I quite like it, it's very political and appeals to emotion

The Boss still has it. Few can use irony so effectively.
Indeed. Greetings from Germany!
Yes! We should take care of everyone all over the world not just “our own” Not that we do that good a job taking care of our own as a whole 🙁Double irony??
