Eleanor, put those boots back on Kick the heels into the Brooklyn dirt I know it isn't dignified to run But if you run, you can run to the Coney Island rollercoaster Ride to the highest point and leap across the filthy water Leap until the Gulf Stream's brought you down I could be there when you land I could be there when you land So Eleanor, take a Greenpoint three-point turn towards the hidden sun You know you are so elegant when you run Oh, if you run, you can run to that statue with the dictionary Climb to her fingernail and leap Yeah, take an atmospheric leap And let the jet stream set you down I could be there when you land I could be there when you land I could be there when you land So Eleanor, put those boots back on Put the boots back on and run Run, come on over here, come on over here, come on over here
This collage style music video was trending back in these days by British bands. I'm trying to remember the name of a similar video but there were 1800s planes flying. Anyone can name the band or song? Thank you.
I appreciate what they tried to do, making it peppier and more interesting with regards to sounds, but I definitely prefer the album version. The piano just makes it so beautiful and mellow.
I've seen them live as Depeche Mode's supporters, last year in Roma and I've got to say they're a whole lot better live than on album. If you get the chance, don't miss them!
Can't we get this version of 'Eleanor Put Your Boots On' on cd??? 'Cause I love it, and I think this version is way better than the one which you already can get on CD!!! ;)
I like this song a lot, both version are great. but this song is much better when they played live. Esta cancion es excelente en las 2 versiones. pero es muchisimo mejor cuando la tocan en vivo
You are very welcome. :) Maybe it is the other way round then, the slower version is from the album, and this one for the single. As I told you, I am not very sure about which version is from which cd. But both versions are awesome.

i still ware my boots in Kilmarnock . long boots short boots , .. love my boots . Xxx
This is one of my favorite FF songs and this is the first time I've ever heard this version or seen this video...my life is a lie.
I live in Brooklyn. A 30 minute walk to Coney Island. I feel special. With my boots on.
I'm from Greenpoint, it's so bizarre to hear it in a song.
Love all the little details of Greenpoint in the art for this!
This is exactly how I was imagining this video to be when I first heard the song! In fact, both arrangements are very suitabe. Very talanted, indeed.
Eleanor, put those boots back on
Kick the heels into the Brooklyn dirt
I know it isn't dignified to run
But if you run, you can run to the Coney Island rollercoaster
Ride to the highest point and leap across the filthy water
Leap until the Gulf Stream's brought you down
I could be there when you land
I could be there when you land
So Eleanor, take a Greenpoint three-point turn towards the hidden sun
You know you are so elegant when you run
Oh, if you run, you can run to that statue with the dictionary
Climb to her fingernail and leap
Yeah, take an atmospheric leap
And let the jet stream set you down
I could be there when you land
I could be there when you land
I could be there when you land
So Eleanor, put those boots back on
Put the boots back on and run
Run, come on over here, come on over here, come on over here
The album version is pretty fantastic, but that banjo gets me every time :)
both versions are so good, i love them
The album version love it, in the begining it feels like a perfect movie soundtrack
Like a sweet, floating lullaby...subtile, dreaming, inventive...sooooo beautiful!
I totally agree.
por trás de uma grande canção há sempre uma grande mulher...
está bien bonita la versión, debió estar en el álbum;(
This song's written about Alex's girlfriend, Eleanor Friedberger, singer of The Fiery Furnaces.
This is the lost Kinks single. So much like the Kinks.
Amazing music.
How life can be more colored and beautiful with music
SOOOO TRUE.
A beautiful song. I like how the Statue of Liberty is referred to as the 'statue with the dictionary'. Loveliest :D
WOW! didnt think they could actually outdo the original. what a great band!
Most fresh-sounding song of FF IMO
I love the single version so much more, it is so more openlike in a literal way.
Makes you long for free, warm-hearted days ...
Awsome! A psicodelic song on Franz Ferdinand's repertory sonds fun and liricous!
I agree.
This song's no worse for being re-recorded. Love it :)
THIS IS SICK
Asi me sentia haya por 2007, todos los dias estaba nublado, pero fue una de las mejores epocas de mi vida
what a band man, class!!!!!!!!!!
i prefer the one w/ piano
this version is better
@@joaquinipar6133 I´m with you man
Mirta this sounds like the intro of ‘how I met your mother’
I like the other...sorry
Well...its not that bad, this way...garage
muy buena cancion de sta banda
soy de peru y estos son de lo
mejor
einfach klasse, just great, magnifique !!!
just so special and so familiar!
I listened to it on the radio today!
El mejor videoclip de la historia.
Just because of this song, i think i would call my daughter Eleanor (if i have a daughter one day, of course!)
SUCH A GOOD SONG. MY HAT OFF TO YOU GOOD SIR.
One of my favourite songs of all time...
Franz Ferdinand roooocks!
i lurve the video! It's awesome.

I just discovered this version and find it as good as the album version ...song is just amazing both ways...
Holy crap, I didn't know there was a different version of this song!
Can't we get this version of 'Eleanor Put Your Boots On' on cd??? 'Cause I love it, and I think this version is way better than the one which you already can get on CD!!! ;)
this reminds me of the animation for the movie "Series of Unfortunate Events"
Holy shit I loved that series of books
The tune is "catchy" and the song is romantically cute!
a great song by a good band
Essa versão é muito boa mas ainda prefiro a do álbum... Caramba, esse vídeo é um dos primeiros a ser postado na plataforma...
Franz ferdinand is the best
starts like a piano recital before the acoustic guitars kick in and the smooth vocal harmonies recall the pristine pop of the fab four.
Alex Kapranos sounds much like Ray Davies (the kinks) on this track.
I like this song a lot, both version are great. but this song is much better when they played live.
Esta cancion es excelente en las 2 versiones. pero es muchisimo mejor cuando la tocan en vivo
Is this a live version or a studio recording? Either way, I prefer the album version a lot more.
+Jill T. Me too! Album version is slow and more acoustic sounding and much better.
This sounds so much like the Beatles
When I forgot about this song and it started playing in a random selection, I genuinely thought it was Beatles! But it was the piano version
Non
This song combines "Eleanor Rigby" and "Live and let die"
The first two chords are shared with a Day in the Life, I think. Literally mistook the beginning of that song for the album version of this one.
@@shaneross8847great ear!
It's an other side of Franz Ferdinand... and it's grait!!!
very good song
holy crap, is this the single version?! lurrrve it!!! and the art! oh the art! *nods* very a series of unfortunate events!
Beautiful video.
They are great!
I prefer this version. I need it!

great. best of indie
I call myself Elanor on an internetforum... :P But I love this song! :)
Its a very nice song but I like the cd version better....Franz Ferdinand ROCK!!!
this version kicks ass
To me it sounds a bit to “The cure” in“Friday I’m in love” or to “Keane”
c'est magnifique
this beat goes so hard.
Greenpoint 3-point turn! I used to live in Greenpoint too! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
LOVIN' IT!
pretty imaginative video
Nice looking video, great song
Great version!
mil veces la escucho, y Nunca dejará de gustarme, !
Tenía desde el 2010 que no escuchaba esta canción. 2020 :)
aww i love this song great video
I've only heard the album version previously. This is a great fast version alternate to an otherwise slow, methodical, and soulful song.
love!
2018! Still here! Oh! The memories!
wow cool version
They do dont they?! Love them!:)
totally greaaaat!
such a cute song!
You are very welcome. :) Maybe it is the other way round then, the slower version is from the album, and this one for the single. As I told you, I am not very sure about which version is from which cd. But both versions are awesome.
Way nostalgic to me...
superbe chanson é magnifike clip!
this is a good song!!!!
DON'T BE SORRY ,
NEVER BE SORRY
This could so easily be a Belle and Sebastian song, I'd love to hear them cover it :)
love it..
J'adore cette version...
the single version is so much better than the album version!!!!!!
i love this song!!!!
o melhor ♥
Never heard this version before jej it's kinda happier than the original
Its all the things you see, not what she does that makes it subtle
