By far and when I say far!!!! The best band to ever to play music. There is so much precision and creativity in their music, that they are in a league of their own above all bands ever to play. They pushed their skills beyond what no others could quite accomplish.
I totally agree. I got to see them 3 times including opening night of the Counterparts tour in Pensacola, and the R30 tour in Atlanta. Neil was so special, he will always be my favorite drummer
@@porkbelly0713,I live in Pensacola, never have missed a show from here to New Orleans to Tampa. I miss them so much, already. Greatest musicians of all times!
My dad raised me on Rush. (I'm 27 now) but still listen to Rush nearly every day and I bring my 9 month old son on for the ride and I will pass down the legacy. I have a girl on the way as well and will teach her the same. We're keeping Rush alive. What a perfect band and example of creative music. RIP Neil ❤️
I was already a fan in the late seventies but when I saw them in 1981 in Montreal, I became a superfan. They were unique and are irreplaceable. Long live Rush!
Same. Not only does it seem like they have given us a million years of music, but it is all available for us to watch again and again! I can't tell you how much I have been enjoying searching out and playing my favorite renditions of songs over and over and over. Although I really think the "Xanadu, Exit Stage Left" version is the best live version, this one is great. Personally, I think "The Garden" live in Dallas, has got to be one of the best rock songs ever to be played live. Just because it always gets me emotional remembering Neil.
Awesome video. This was my 50th and final Rush concert. I sadly never made it to LA but was glad my live journey with them ended where it began. I saw my first show at MSG on 9/17/84, so it was appropriate I come full circle. I was even with the same friend!
I think we should consider ourselves lucky to have all these fantastic recordings ! i fortunately got to see Rush almost yearly from middle 70;s through 2015 ! But these Gems will live forever ! Thanks for post RiP Neil Peart !
The Majesty of them all standing to perform on the rare moments Neil stands and plays the tubular bells behind him. They are literally Kings of the Guitar, Bass, and Drum Kingdoms.
What a blessing it is to have the internet and RUclips to be able to watch and enjoy our favorite bands play and imortalize their memory! I hope to enjoy Rush to the day I die!
Love that all of us metal heads love Rush..the metal community will always stand with Rush... And they are not prog-band... The title always pissed me off... They are Rush!!
had to stop halfway thru the song. so many memories. SO so glad I spent the $$ to see them front row in San Jose and 5-6th? row at the final gig at the Forum in LA. When Neil came out for the bow, we knew it was The End. The audio and visual on this is what I want on a endless loop when I'm in hospice care - honestly - I'd die to this and be a happy man. Watching the Hawkins tribute and Ged and Al play with Dave, Cgad and Danny...it just really settles in just how made for each other the guys that were RUSH were. The covers are uncomfortable, but I appreciate the effort. That said, RUSH was and will ever be, the Best, Ever
I am glad to say that I was at that show. I've seen them many times going back to presto. At The Garden, Jones Beach, Nassau colleseum, Barclay's, that place in jersey. I miss seeing them perform.
Oh Thank you! I'm front row center with tears of joy and loss from Colorado, knowing it's my last RUSH show, and simply loving life and my man for making it happen...
34 Years in between tours to see this performed in its entirety, in between years, my friends would be disappointed that it wasn't done, until now, highlight of R40!
Cool. I saw them in Toronto this tour. Loved them bringing back the 12 string just like the old days. I had a feeling that night it would be my last time seeing RUSH and sadly I was right.
That was the one I went to. I wanted to see them a second time, but by the time I was sure I could go, I couldn't get tickets. :( What a great show that was. It's probably my favorite of all I've seen.
It's super cool the ways in which Rush compensate for being a 3 piece. Alex hitting those bass parts with his feet and Geddy switching over to 12 string guitar over the solo. I never really realized how they did this and this video shows that very well. Good stuff.
We who were Fortunate Enough to share our Lives in this Moment in Time and Space with The Three of them,Must Forever Spread the Good Word to those Unfortunates who follow in our Future Footsteps, The Power, the Magic and the Majesty that is RUSH!! R.I.P. NEIL PEART!!! WE'LL NOT SEE THEIR LIKE AGAIN!!!!!
In a genre so heavily dominated by revered English progressive rock bands, Rush and Kansas were the pinnacle. They proved that progressive rock could be powerful and accessible, mystical yet deeply resonate with audiences all at the same time.... Taking the listener on epic journeys of the mind, their music was timeless, made to last forever.... Men will someday be wheeling through the galaxy on a spaceship lovingly named the Rocinante, still listening to RUSH.
The other two guys never wanted to do the extra stuff. It was always Geddy picking up their slack. Who can sing? Geddy, you do it. Who can play pedals? Geddy, you do it. Who can play keyboards? Geddy, you do it. Who can make waterfall sounds? Geddy, you do it. Who's doing the laundry? Geddy, you do it. Who's roasting the chickens? Geddy, you do it.
Saw the awesome Rush ( so underrated!!! ) from their early start ,,,,, Ridiculous rhythm sections that most bands would have no clue how to achieve,,,, truly one of the greatest ever prog rock bands ,,,,, you think you can drum ? Probably the greatest drummer. And some of the guitar work and sound OMG ,,,, add it all up ,,,, JUST GENIUS ,,,, Gx
Whenever a rock station would do a world premiere of a new album, I always wanted to hear what Neil Peart had to say about the lyrics that he wrote. After his family tragedies, he stopped doing those interviews.
Geddy Lee's voice had really changed here. It was time at this point. I'll never forget that '79 show. He sounded just like he did on the record for Xanadu!
I find it hard to believe, The Power Trio will never perform together again! there is a huge void in my life, they were such a positive driving force, innovative talented, just raw horsepower! Definitely there’s a piece of me missing!
Love how Alex is standing next to Geddy and watching him play, only to see Geddy mouth the words, "That's how its supposed to go". LOL Great video, great group!
Odd to realize it's been seven years. But I'm ok with them ending with this tour. They've toured relentlessly all their lives. Neil's heart wasn't in it anymore and Alex wasn't far behind him. They've given enough.
Great job my friend! Wow in some ways it's like an educational video on how to play Alex's parts on Xanadu. Notice the bass sounds he triggers with his feet. As a guitar player I must again thank you for this raw yet perfect capture. I was there at MSG that night. You had better seats.
I saw Rush for the third time when A Farewell to Kings came out. t was my favorite tour. I saw them on the All the worlds a stage tour and was completely blown away. This was the late 70's. Notice that the amps behind Alex are not turned on. They are just staging. His amps are behind it and not shown.
Where do we go from here? They’re gone, their best memories are watching their “Cinema Strangiato” movie, simply perfect🏆. The best modern Prog is now found in independent artists. I suggest the following; Andrew Bordoni, Andy Timmons, Carl Roa, Jonas Hellborg. Great Prog still lives on!, you just need to find it👍😎.
this is a very well filmed video for being homemade on a phone.❤ the band is really on their mark and in the pocket whatever night this was when you saw them. congratulations on the awesome footage of a really well played song from the books of Rush
Brings tears to my eyes. In the entire history of man on this planet, we were alive to see Rush. I miss them so much.
they are sorely missed...a hole in the musical universe...
RIP NEAL🙏
Forever. Legends.
So very true Don!! Brings tears to my eyes every time i watch a video of these guys...

No argument. Something majestic about donning 2 double necks. Hail the King.

All right…I’ll say it: Best Rock band ever.
RUSH is my fav but when ya think about it...well anyway PEACE!
The 3 Kings, forever remembered.
Very well put
That was the ******REAL******Farewell to Kings Tour.
Never gets old watching them play this song. Oh the high school memories that last forever!
I sat for hours until I could play the whole song. Of course, we could not play it in my band.
Yep, high school was my time too, saw them 3 times, never failed to love them!
I was already a fan in the late seventies but when I saw them in 1981 in Montreal, I became a superfan. They were unique and are irreplaceable. Long live Rush!

One of my top five Rush songs Xanadu.. it seems like Rush has given us a million years of music.. my favorite rock band..

How can you not LOVE these Guys!!! And to one of the greatest lyric writers that ever lived...Miss you Neil!

My brother took me to my first show when I was 15 in 1979. We got to go together to see RUSH in Las Vegas bringing us full circle also.
I just LOVED watching Neil in your video. So terribly sad that we lost this amazing man.
No better rock band has ever graced a stage. Man, Alex is an absolute monster!
Simply an unbelievable song and amazing that it can be performed flawlessly live.
Three of the finest and best musicians Rock and Roll have produced. In music and character.

I miss Iive Rush shows😢
The world really sucks without Rush.
Absolutely majesty on stage
The Trio that is Lerxst, Dirk and the Professor
Playing, in my opinion, the best song ever written and played

The first five minutes, no words just wonderful music, after that, it gets BETTER!
Neil was my favourite drummer of all time. RIP.
Awesome footage. My wife and I were so fortunate to have seen three shows on this tour. This being the last. I cherish this. Thank you.
I've seen lots of bada.. concerts from Sabbath to Maiden, METALLICA , VH Aerosmith ,Acdc, but RUSH IS TO ME THE BEST!
Rush is king! But, those early years of Van Halen shows were freaking electric!!
Love that all of us metal heads love Rush..the metal community will always stand with Rush... And they are not prog-band... The title always pissed me off...
They are Rush!!
that was my last rush show of about 30 shows. i literally cried when it was over i knew that was my last one rip neil

Fantastic tune from the greatest Rock Band. Well filmed.
What a ride! Every time I've seen them play this, it's like the best roller coaster ride ever. A blast every time.
The double necks never get old. Rush is the GOAT
The full and complete rendition, including all the bells and whistles, and of course birds.
Can't remember ever seeing Alex show so much emotion when playing live....very cool.
