You look fantastic in those suits. 🔥👍👍
Thank you Kim for sharing your beautiful swimwear fabric with us. I do love how you hug your fabric, Karina from Lifting Pins and Needles hugs her fabric also. Your new haircut looks so lovely on you and hoping that your back is better. Happy Tuesday as this is when I'm watching.
Your swimsuits are lovely - especially love the blue & white one. Can't wait to see this year's models!
Thanks Dorothy, I look forward to the swimwear knowledge.
Oh, and your suits are adorable!!!
Thank you for the video! They all looked fantastic on you!
Yea. I can’t wait for this. I too want to make a bathing suit for a trip to Mexico. I’m so excited. Thank you.
Hi Kim!! TFS, great information.. Love your purple fabric but the others are just as nice.. Can’t wait to see what you make....
💜💜🧵🧵
What a lovely person you are.
Kim, thank you so much for this series! I have wanted to make a bathing suit for my 65 year old long torso body for a long time. I appreciate you sharing your expertise, pattern, and fabric guides. Bless you for all you do to educate your sewing friends!
I’ve never sewn a swimsuit due to my inability/insecurity/whatever-you-want-to-call-it of getting the correct fit. Right out of the gate-boom!-you gave great techniques for fitting cup size and fabric testing. Looking forward to the next 7 weeks in this series!
This is a great video, Kim! Thanks so much for sharing. I really like each of your 2018 suits, and look forward to seeing this year's Mexico makes :)
As always, I love all the fabrics you've chosen. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your swim suit makes. Nature handed me DD bosoms on a 34" chassis. My ample size 16 derrier dictates the suit size, but with all that extra room upstairs the girls have every opportunity to go out on their own👇. It's not a good look. Lol
Great informative video. Thank you so much for sharing!
This was fun and informative, thank you. Lovely fabrics!
For future reference polyester-spandex (or lycra?) is better if you will be in a chlorine pool. The polyester is more resistant to breakdown from chlorine than other materials.
This is great! Thank you for sharing!
I love this video. I had not even had swimwear on my radar, but you inspired me. Your past suits are very flattering. I will have to pick up some fabric from surge fabric
Thank you so much , love what you do. I like modest 2 PC. Swim wear.
I have never made swimwear, the idea scared me! Thanks to you I am at least contemplating making some now. You look fantastic in the swimwear you made for 2018!!! Thanks a million Kim.
I’ve been looking forward to this. Thank you in advance. The top you’re wearing looks very nice on you
All of the suits are so flattering! I need a couple of suits and have been looking for something similar to the 50's style. Also I love the Mickey shirt behind you. I just bought some fabric that with the same colors but mine has howling Wolves or Huskies on it. I say Husky because I have a little Alaskan Husky that always has his head turned up howling.
Excited to learn more about making swimwear!
Ho yes. Me too 😀
The suits you made previously are amazing. I can't wait to see your new suits. For the one suit that was too short in the body, could you cut under the bust and insert a color block panel (black maybe?) to extend the length of the body to make it wearable?
I buy 120 inch tapes at Hobby Lobby. They are with the quilting rulers. I used to love making bathing suits, not made one in a few years. Maybe time to make me some new ones, have fabric, need lining.
Thank you Kim! The timing of your swimwear video is perfect for me. I am in the process of sewing a tankini swimsuit. The elastic application that I used is not going well...it doesn’t feel very stretchy. The around the neck strap did not call for elastic, but I inserted elastic anyway and am glad I did. I will definitely let you know how it comes out.
5 out of 4 has several bathing suit patterns as well
Looking forward to this review. Made all my suits 30 years ago, but I’m rusty!
Me, too! I think I still have some of those patterns :)
You have inspired me too! I am definitely going to watch your tutorials. Also do you have any recommendations for cover up patterns and the material to use? Thanks great job and bs makes.
Where do you find your power mesh? What lining do you use? Thank you. Need this motivation to make swimwear.
I actually found my 120 inch measuring tape at a JoAnn’s, but not in the same place as the regular notions. It was in a special section for quilting tools.
Thanks! This was so helpful
Love, love, love!! All very beautiful and flattering!!
P. S. LOVE LOVE LOVE THE FABRICS YOU CHOSE FOR THIS YEAR'S SWIMWEAR!
This plan sounds great!! I've already learned so much from you. All of your fabric looks wonderful. Thank you so much.
Thanks for doing this video! I have always wanted to make my own bathing suit, just to get the right fit for my body. Your videos are always very informative and I certainly appreciate you doing them. Thanks,
Thanks Kim! Looking forward to watching these. I have always wanted to try swim wear so maybe I will now! What do you suggest for lining fabric?
Hi Kim, I'm so excited for this series as this is the year I will try to make swimwear. Thank you.
I love this segment. I haven’t made a swimsuit in about 50 years. I have much to relearn, but I do need a new suit. What type of lining do you use typically with the swimwear Lycra? Thanks so much. Blessings, Linda Hardesty
You should do the Waterfall suit with the floral/black background and black using the floral for the waterfall. I have the Butterick pattern you showed, what was your issues with it size wise? I've never made it, did it end up too big or too small? I do water exercising and kayaking and love tankinis, when I'm doing laps in the pool I tuck the top into my bottoms.
has anyone mentioned making a tankini from that red bathingsuit?
Great vlog Kim - have you seen the Laela Jeyne swimsuit patterns? They look pretty good! ❤️
Working up my courage to give this a try.
Loved seeing the suits actually on your body; that is very helpful! The information given is also de-mystifying my hesitance to make suits. I have only made suits for my preschool daughters many years ago. Do you use power mesh as lining for your suits?
😃
Kim, what if you need a wire for the bra cups? Where do you buy that and are there patterns that you are aware of that would use wired cups?
Thank you!
Hi LOVE your programs .Do they ship to Ireland the purple is beautiful .all the best from Dublin🥰
