Troy is the quality of human being that restores my faith in the NFL. An an amazing football player and an even better man.

It really is impossible. I don’t know a single person, regardless of team allegiance that’s had anything negative to say or who didn’t just flat out love him. I’m a Bengals fan and the Steelers crushed my heart numerous times in the Marvin Lewis era. I *hate* the Steelers immensely. But I love and have tremendous respect for Troy Polamalu. What an incredible person and athlete.
Troy was always the best player on the field. Just an amazing career to watch.

Rich, there's a ton of Pittsburgh people and fans that love Mike Tomlin. The thing is most people, in general, don't understand leadership and what makes a leader because they don't have experience with it. So, when things go bad, they don't know that this happens with everyone. The response is the important part.

To be somewhat more specific, Winston (Douglas HS Trojans). I grew up in a league rival town, Florence (Siuslaw) and graduated in '97 and he was '99. So I got to watch him with shorter hair 🤣. Best high school football player and was also a great baseball player at the time.

Ronnie Lott will always be the goat.
Ronnie Lott is a great argument for the goat. He overall had a more complete career than Troy. But Troy did things on the field that nobody could physically do (atheticly speaking) look at troys highlight reel, unbelievable. ( And yes, I've already looked at Ronnie's highlight reel) Ronnie Lott is amazing, just in different ways. Just my opinion

Troy has played for 3 Super Bowl winning coaches over his collegiate and pro career. Only 3 coaches but all 3 won super bowls.
Troy Palamalu was an all world 🌍 safety when he played for Pittsburgh. He is more than worthy of his bust in Canton and is a really nice guy. Rich Eisen conducted an excellent interview with Troy Palamalu ❤❤❤❤.

Rich A 50 plus year Steelers fan and not all of us want coach T gone. What other coach can go threw a rebuild without a losing season after losing a franchise quarterback look at new England. Love coach T and you taking his side. Troy is right there with Lambert Green Blount and so many great Steelers. Just a great player and man.

The "new" NFL needs about 1,000 more guys like Troy. Throw in a Bradshaw or 500, and the league would be FAR better. I just can't justify he money on tickets anymore, a LOT of the city's are TRASH I don't wanna go to, let alone take my kids, anymore. Pete Carroll recently told the story of the rope, I think it was on KJ Wright's pod. Apparently he came up with the idea of the midnight meeting at the coliseum but didn't have the SLIGHTEST IDEA what he was going to do there. He told the team to show up before he had the slightest inkling how he was going to use the moment, he just liked the idea of assembling in the middle of a dark stadium at midnight... He spotted a hardware store that same afternoon and came up with the idea of buying a rope and having a tug of war on the spot - which turned out to be a masterstroke of team-building.
Pete's a coaching legend.

Unasked? It’s asked all the time. Coach T fans say, or at least imply, many of Coach T’s detractors are racist. Coach T detractors mostly point to lack of playoff wins in the second half of Tomlin’s career. Many of those detractors say, or at least imply, you can’t criticize Coach T because of his race. I come down that Coach T is too good to want to see him gone, but he’s got deficiencies that he hasn’t fixed. He’s a defensive coach and relies too much on veteran leadership, which we don’t currently have on offense ... until Mason got in. He got rid of Canada but he needs a strong OC.

FYI, go back and see the Larry Fitz is 100% responsible for James H to score that TD. Larry ran out of bounds and tackeled James and then rolled under him on the TD line, that made it a TD for James!! I was there.
Pittsburgh wins, Cleveland wins, to meet in the AFC championship game. The AFC North is going to ruin theses playoffs. We beat the hell out of each other to limp threw the playoffs but this is the year of the hardest best division in football the AFC North with the Steelers winning it all. Hope you invite me to the Superbowl to watch it with you saying I called it. Great show rich like that you throw some love Pittsburgh way once in a while.

What seems missing is the scouts. Consider Joe Greene, Blount, Shell, Frank Lewis, Mike Wagner & others from small colleges. Today's scouts don't seem to have the connections to find a Stallworth, Bradshaw or other future HOF player.

a) has a win % of 0.578 (vs. the other guy's 0.545);
b) took his team to the AFC Championship;
c) hasn't won a playoff game;
d) won Coach of the Year at least once;
e) got outscored in the 2023 season by opponents by 20 or more points?
You forgot the 2 loosing seasons by Vrabel... also Vrabels cheat code called Derrick Henry additionally Vrabel in his 2 loosing season had Ryan Tannhil who is better than Mitch or Kenny. Amazing how context is always forgotten re Tomlin critics.
