THIS is the polar opposite of Sean Payton. Coach T is a guy who breathes optimism into every single player and coach. No finger pointing, no shouting at players, no embarrassing rival coaches. He just speaks positively and it's no wonder that every player wants to play for him. Even after Kenny quit on the team, Mike doesn't talk down about him.

He's a class act, leader of men, holds the team and himself accountable, great speaker, etc. Also if you put 90% of coaches in his position these last few years I doubt they remain above 500 every year. Its not all about pure championships, look what happened with Belicheck, ppl called him the goat for winning so much and now nobody wants him as a coach.

I think we can win a Super Bowl this season. I can feel it. I am very excited about this team. Last season we made it to the playoffs with no QB. This season we will be at the top of the heap. Having been this pumped since Ben left. I think this is going to be a fun season.

Those Bears beat writers just won't let go of Justin Fields. I have followed JF1 through OSU and then to the Bears. His teammates on the Bears did not want him to be traded. They speak of his work ethic, wanting to win, and most of all, his leadership both on and off the field.
The team got a real one with JF1.

I love this interview by coach Mike Tomlin. He is very intelligent at interviews, knows what to say, is very fluid in his speech and does not allow himself to get suckered into answering a question he knows he should not answer.

This is the best press conference I’ve seen from Coach T. So much optimism, much uncertainty. Answered every question swiftly and with heart. You can tell he’s a leader of men that believes in every man on this roster. What’s more impressive is after everything he’s been through with scrutiny, losing a HOF QB, Kenny ultimately not working out, he’s still motivated and sharp. Ready for another winning season with coach T and I believe we can make a playoff run! Also don’t count Russell out too. He’s a fearless competitor and a perfect match for the Steelers 💪🏾

@@cha867 do you know the bears gutted their whole roster his second year? You know your guys #4 or 5 wr last season Robinson was his #1 his rookie year? He had a practice squad around him in 22 and still was in top 10 for MVP in NFL!! He finally got a weapon in DJ Moore last season and Moore had career high numbers…. So did Cole Kmet. The defense of bears in 22 was horrible even when Justin scored 25 30 points the bears still lost, but I know he should play better defense lol. The coaches sucked. I mean I can continue how he was set up for failure since day one but still never complained just went to work. But I’m not you can have your uneducated opinion….

I am a fan of the Ravens, but Mr Coach Tomlin is my favorite football coach through all levels of football. I have a major deal of respect for him and I take his tomlinisms with me into my every day routine. He’s a hell of a coach, a father, I’m sure he’s a hell of a friend to all that are close to him, and most of all he’s a hell of a man. It definitely is weird rooting for him considering he’s my favorite teams rival, but I look past that because I took to him due to him being such an amazing role model. He is the standard. I’m blessed to be able to watch him work and see the amazing culture he’s built come into fruition. To the Steelers fans who are disgruntled with his success in recent years, you guys have no idea what you have. Be grateful that you have this man in your building, he’s been a pillar in Pittsburgh. Much love and wish your family health and happiness, coach tomlin.

I just find it very interesting as a Bears fan how some media members turned in Fields and almost seem shocked that other teams see the obvious QB talent Justin is. Tomlin will get the best of Justin and we’ll see what a stable environment and coaching can do with a talented QB. I’ve always been a Tomlin fan now I’m even more of Steelers fan

Mike Tomlin has broadened my vocabulary. I'm lucky to be a Steelers fan. He's an honest, solid, fare man in a cutthroat world and profession. I can't help but pick up on the vocab and the way he talks. For example here he's asked a question that he's been asked many times since the QB weekend, and instead of him saying something like "I've already said this" or something that oozes the idea of "I'm sick of answering this question, he says "as I've mentioned several times of late" he's honest yet no nonsense.. I'm a business owner and therefore I am a leader. I have young men under me and in that position, you have to set solid examples. He was influenced by those before him and he influenced those that come behind him. He also takes no shots at the Bears, he humbly gloats about having Fields as a QB. I use the term "I embrace it" daily because of Mike T. That's means "Bring it on, I can handle whatever you throw at me" He has had so many ups and downs as the head coach of the pinnacle organization of professional sports. Three HC's since Vietnam in Pittsburgh . Cleveland is such a mess, they have that many in 2 years. Real Steelers fans don't take that for granted and know not to be irrational. Thanks Mike Tomlin, Bill Cowher, Chuck Knoll and the Rooney family.

Now that's what a head coach looks and sounds like. Coach Tomlin puts in the work and that's why his teams have winning seasons. Now his qb situation has improved greatly and watch out AFC! Russell will be exceedingly better than any qb the Steelers put on the field last year but the real thievery came in the acquisition of Justin Fields for literally a bag of chips and not even Lays. Great deal for Pittsburgh! Don't bet against this Steeler squad. They're gonna be dangerous.

This was a VERY nice interview. Tomlim answered each and every question with such poise and positive logic. Even when the reporters went for a low blow he responded appropriately and didn’t be little or lower anyone in anyway, shape or form. This is leadership. This is coaching.
