Tomlin won't get the steelers to another superbowl. He needs to go to a team with a ready made team like he did when he got to the steelers. He has run the steelers organization into the ground and as cohwers team leaders retired/moved on the steelers seem to get a little worse or no better each year. He is waaaaay overrated and Pittsburg you are stuck with him cause of that stupid rooney rule that don't work but it would be a bad look if rooney fired the black man so maybe tomlin will do the right thing and step down after another 9-8 year. As a Steeler fan I wish they watched more games before just having us as a topic. I’m as real as I can be and say not even the Steelers know what we’re gonna be. New OC, new Qb room, new scheme loll. We have talent najeee the only rb w/ 3 1k consécutive seasons. We never put our talent in position to make plays but with poor Qb play we never had a chance until Mason honestly. And still with all that we were honestly two bad calls away from winning a game we were never supposed to be in. So I hope Russ can come in and be the difference for a run.
As a Steelers fan also....one thing I do know is we will be better on offense with a more competent QB. Our draft, as always will be crucial. Have to get a LT, C, and WR.

People talk about the LoB and Beast Mode like they were the Steel Curtain: great for 10+ years.
The LoB was elite for 5 years (2010-2014), and for two of those years, Russ was in college. He had an elite D for 3 of his 10 years with the Seahawks, and the LoB benefitted from Russ as much as (or more than) Russ benefitted from the LoB.
The LoB was ostensibly done in 2015…filleted, battered, and fried…FINISHED!
Russ had a great defense for 3 of his 10 Seahawks seasons, a good one for 1 season, and a solid one for 2 more.
He had Beast Mode for 3 seasons. Beast Mode was finished in 2015!

Furthermore, given your recollection of Russ’s rookie year, you should also remember why the Seahawks lost to the Falcons in the NFC divisional in January if 2013, the 2012-13 playoffs: the LoB got torched in the final 30-seconds of that game after Russ led the team on a would-be game-winning drive. All they had to do was hold Natt Ryan for 30 seconds, and they failed! Russ did his job n that game, but the LoB blew it. Yet, you constantly hear people talking like the LoV carried Russ. It’s total bullsh!t.
The 2012-13 LoB COST Russ a date with a 49ers team they dominated for the next 8 years, which means they also COST Russ a likely SB appearance as a rookie.

I was there. The Seahawks had a formidable defense in 2010 and 2011, with Marshawn Lynch on the squad for both years and former SB and Pro Bowl QB Matt Hasslebeck for 2010, and the team didn’t do squat! Back-to-back 7-9 seasons…
And if you’re going to say stats mean something, keep that same energy when people point to Russ’s stats!

All I know that since 2019, when the Chiefs won the SuperBowl, that there are these teams that consistently won in the regular season, post season, and reached the SuperBowl. There are: The Chiefs. The Bucs. The 49ers. The Rams. The Bengals. The Eagles. 6 teams that are considered consistent. The rest are stumbling and fumbling to win post games and get to the SuperBowl. And The Chiefs is the only team that's gotten to the post season and SuperBowl and won 3 SuperBowls and 4 AFC Championships. So, I am going with that statistic. Not theories. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

They are not making a playoff run in the AFC. At some point they will need him to be more than a game manager to win a big game and he won't be able to do it.

I remember that the Rams won a Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford as their quarterback. You might argue that they won that game "in spite" of Matthew Stafford.
I also remember the Baltimore Ravens winning a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer as their quarterback. In that case you could argue that it was "because" of Trent Dilfer.
My point is that there are a lot of variables that contribute to a team winning a Super Bowl. Even when you consider "outliers" like Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rogers.
In this case, I think that Acho doesn't appreciate the quarterback the Russ is or could be and part of that is on Russ. Having said that, he (Russ) has the infrastructure that would allow him to be a much better version of himself than he has been. So yeah, a playoff win would be great, but the Steelers did that without him. A playoff run is not too high of an expectation. I just don't know if it happens this year... In a new situation. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd love to see the Steerlers make that kind of noise.

Every team that makes it to the playoffs is a Super Bowl contender. Playoffs = chance to win it all. Some have higher and some have lower chances once in, but a chance nonetheless.

Kenny Pickett DID NOT get us to the playoffs! Steelers we’re OUTGAINED in EVERY game the first half of the season but somehow managed a winning record (thank you defense)! Pickett’s stats weren’t very good. 6 TD’s year! For those of you saying Russ Wilson is past his prime, I’ll take his 26 TD’s over Pickett’s 6 anyday.
