A band currently on tour with Disturbed is an all female band who David specifically wanted on tour so he could do this song live, Plush's vocalist Moriah Formica can do Heart/Ann Wilson like noone else, but Ann, their cover of Barracuda is amazing.
David Draiman said that Ann Wilson contacted him via social media to let him know how much she enjoyed Disturbed’s version of The Sound of Silence.
The guitarist Dan Donegan was going through a divorce. Little did David know he too would be going through a divorce as well.
The band decided initially that they didn’t want to have guests on their albums. Once this song was written, they decided it should be a duet.
David asked Ann if she would perform this song with him. She said yes.
Interesting, that you described the song as something you might hear on Broadway. David has his distinctive voice and actually was training to be a Jewish Cantor. They lead worship and sing without music.
