The animation also isn't at its peak, and fight scenes were done quite poorly right at the beginning -The waterbending scroll has always felt a bit off to me, due to the quick shift into katara's jealousy, though that could be establishing character traits -Jet is a decently awkward episode, at least in my eyes, with the main villain character being solid, but having Katara immediately initiate anime fall for plot feeling sloppy -and the great divide is the great divide Now I understand that every part is at least decent cartoon quality, but the very beginning of the first season to most isn't the same as later avatar quality.

Calling bending “just flailing arms around” seems much more racist than what Avatar is doing, considering that bending is based off of real martial arts. By that same logic, the Mona Lisa is just smeared oil on tree pulp.
I think that is more ignorant than racist since those people think that they know more than they actually do. I think calling it racist rather than ignorant is like shitting my pants and saying I shit on the floor. Sure, I still shit myself, but I didn't shit on the floor. “imitating a japanese style” it’s animated by a korean animation studio, a country where animations follow a similar art style, and plus the style isn’t a copy of anime, it’s pretty unique all on its own, so their point is…obsolete, so is the idea that it’s made solely based on cultural appropriation, since the creators appreciate the cultures and paid their respects by thoroughly doing their research. you worded this really well my guy
I am an Indian and a hindu. Avatar last Airbender has an incredible amount of influence from hindu and eastern philosophy, the culture and world building also seemed familiar to me and I was very attached to the show because no other western animated show has this much cultural familiarity to me. Apart from that the the world building, magic system, characters and government all were functioning and acting realistically if they existed IRL. The characters are written so brilliantly that even when the characters have circumstances that are so Unrelatable to the average person but are still so human and relatable. The way they deal with dark and complex issues like genocide, war, ethnic cleansing, brain washing and the morality of killing is brilliant as it is still understandable for younger people without getting traumatized and for older people it doesn't seem childish and unrealistic. No other "cartoon" has such an effect on my personality and growth as avatar. I learnt to be a stronger and more compassionate person because of this show. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

I showed ATLA to all my friends and all but one loved it. The one who doesn't, watched 5 episodes (and the king of Omashu is arguably the funniest in book 1) and thought it was too childish. But he loves the minion movie, wich is only toilet humour, the hypocrite. Now my friends and I use all the fun ATLA references and laugh without him understanding a thing. That's rough buddy.
“Complimenting each other every two seconds.” Exhibit A: Sokka and Aang in the first two episodes. He did not like Aang because he brought the Fire Nation to their village. Also when Aang burned Katara by accident, Sokka was pissed with Aang. Exhibit B: Sokka and Katara in the first couple of episodes. “You are the most sexist, immature, nut-brained… ugh!” -Katara. Need I say more? Exhibit C: Katara and Toph don’t get along in “The Chase” and “The Runaway” until the end. Exhibit D: Aang and Katara at the end of the Ember Island Players. Exhibit E: Azula exists.

“My theory is that it is held in our hearts by nostalgia…” I didn’t watch avatar when I was a kid. I literally watched it for the first time as a judging, picky, teenager and quite enjoyed it so um- 😂
Agreed, I didn't watched avatar as a kid, Either mostly because it's rarely shown or It just wasn't my type, but now as a teen yt recommendations of avatar content just showed up and I decided to check the show and dang was it good.
I'm 27. I could have totally seen this show as a kid, but I never did. Saw it for the first time about 3 - 4 years ago and yeah, it's amazing. No nostalgia factor here.
This was the first anime i had ever watched as a kid it was so nostalgic i was beginning to forget the show but when i rewatched it on netflix i felt like my life has been back
I saw it for the first time at age 45. Major fan and I think it’s some of the best world building, storytelling and character development I have ever seen.
On the first review: The show was literally animated by a korean animation studio. So of course it's going to be influenced by various asian artstyles which is very fitting for the show, since it's also heavily inspired by various asian cultures. It's not a "cheap knock-off" it is literally asian art.
Man, I love avatar as the next guy, and tale of Iroh makes me cry every time, for real, but you can’t deny that it was trying to copy anime. It *absolutely* did, and was proud of it. And out of that American adaptation of a traditionally Japanese art, we got something unbelievably different and amazing. Kinda like the saucy, sometimes fried, overly-dressed sushi we love here, in the US, which would also be clearly recognized as foreign to the average Japanese person. Cultural cross-pollination is one of the greatest gifts in humanity, and I believe it’s one that’s celebrated as an ultimate good in the show we all love. ✌️
Like @qui gon jin said, it’s animated by a korean animation studio, a country where animations follow a similar art style. Animes come from japan while this is made in america. The lipsync matches up and the animation is not limited, most animes have limited animation. Finally, most animes have manga before them, and Avatar didn't have a manga before becoming animated.
Like Zuko’s “father” permanently maimed Zuko just bc he spoke out of turn and didn’t want to fight his “father” and that’s just the tip of iceberg. Bitch I’d be moody too if that happened to me
Plus like half of the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicles, and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard characters, they all have family issues of some kind.
“Held in our hearts by nostalgia” is a blatant lie. I never got into the show until the end of my sophomore year of high school, and now it is one of, if not my all-time favorite shows.
Sometimes, nostalgia is not needed for something to be good. And if that guy thinks that, then are you supposed to only like stuff you watched as an 8 year old or something ? F****** Thomas the tank engine ?
I watched it as a kid on TV, but not in order or all episodes, mostly from season 1 and 2 and the episode withe the drill about 20 times as a kid idk why they kept repeating it, got a bit repetitive. But later with 15 or so I researched in order and blew my mind. It was so much better and I understood so much more. Every person I pressured enough to watch it became an instant fan.
Interesting Aang's past lives never tell him explicitly "You must kill the fire lord" when he asks for that advice. I remembered it that way too, but if you look at their final advice Aang ends up satisfying all of it with his own way in the end: "Be decisive" "Only justice will bring peace" "You must actively shape your own destiny and the destiny of the world" "Selfless duty calls you to sacrifice your own spiritual needs and do whatever it takes to protect the world" Even so, it is ironic, Yangchen's advice seems the closest to "You must kill the firelord even if it's against your ideals"
3:55 "is a good example of cultural appreciation." You really do not have to look very hard to figure this out. Xiran Jay Zhao has a whole series of videos where they break down the cultural inspirations in awesome detail. One of the biggest things to me is the scenes with Aang and the Guru. "The greatest illusion in this world is that of separation, things which you think are separate are actually one and the same. Even metal, is just a part of earth that has been purified and refined."
I shivered hearing that and then seeing toph metalbend.. like it's just one of those moments where the worldbuilding and the storytelling, characterisation and the depth of the story are at their peak.

Even as a child that ending gave me goosebumps because of how profound his resolve was to his religious beliefs. Just incredible writing, if it wasnt considered a masterpiece already, that ending confirmed that it was
Imo the finale itself is a bit anticlimactic. The fight is nicely pased and the animation is very dynamic, but the fight itself isn't much to write home about. Aang really just loses for the majority of the fight only to pop into the Avatar state last second and instantly win. I know this is what the Avatar State is at its core, but it being used as Deus Ex Machina wasn't really my favorite part. I think Korra handles her Avatar state much better as it doesnt autowin her fights (usually because she is handicaped in some way in order to achieve that). I do like the message and the values the ending carries, but I can point some fingers at the actual fight itself. (Also, the fake ouit that Aang is gonna lose at Energybending was also a bit needless, having that fake out at the very end when he's winning and there's literally no other way things could go) [To respond to one of the comments above too, I believe the ending of Korra's Season 1 isn't too bad, as the whole season established the antagonist as unbeatable, so finding another way to defeat him is actually quite clever. Korra had no chance against Amon and the viewer is told that on many different occasions. Ozai vs Aang was built up more as this event that will shape the world, something inevitable and bound to happen. So for the fight to be so one sided until last second it was actually quite weak.]
@@NadaStuff The Legend of Korra was an 'okay' series for me. I love the animation. Problem I have was there was lot of unnecessary romance scenes, lack of character background explorations, and everything feels rushed. Like each season just new enemies, and so on, almost as if they make it look like it's a superhero show with enemy of the week kind of theme. Other than that, I love the industrial theme, animated fights, although I like few characters as well (too bad they're not written well enough).
@@RendyRuban I disagree personally. I feel the new villains bring a lot of new concepts keeping the series fresh. As for the main cast, I believe they are very well written. They arent always supposed to be likeable, but thats what makes them genuine. A lot of characters through a bigger character growth arc than some of the TLA characters. Especially Korra herself compared to Aang. Her personal journey has more pararells with Zuko to be completly honest
Ironically enough, Avatar: The Last Airbender is considerably higher quality than most of anime while also displaying Asiatic cultures of various types, presenting a universe with deep lore, and strongly tying itself to the history of the Far East, both ancient and recent. For example, the one hundred year war is an allegory for the First and Second Sino-Japanese War and the aggressive expansion of Imperial Japan during the 20th century. Another example is Chin the Conquerer being based off of Qin Shi Huangdi, the First Emperor of China. There’s quite a lot to sift through with ATLA that most viewers, upon their first watch, might miss.
And that's the beauty of ATLA. You can keep watching it at different stages of your life and learn something entirely new! You begin to see the complex world building, the deep lore, the beautiful character developments, the many incredible life lessons, the connections to other cultures and histories, and so much more!
totally, in avatar there’s always something moving in the background, a lot of “blink and you’ll miss it” moments that aren’t the main action of the scene. in anime a lot of the time its just the mouths moving or its just a slow panning shot, or seeing each individual characters reactions to things. it makes it a lot more fun to watch when you can see characters reactions in the background instead of slowing the episode down by showing literally every character gasp for 5 seconds
Also in book two, Lake Laogai was based on the Laogai camps of communist China, that's why Avatar is banned there. There is even the brainwashing of Joo Dee and the entirety of Ba Sing Se from the war, it's based on North Korean brainwashing. The 3 Generations of leaders lying to citizens so that the people of the Hermit Kingdom would basically worship them. Wiping out the air nomads is literally based on the genocide of Tibetan culture. This show is incredibly researched. All the little details, from the food Iroh gives Zuko when he's sick, which is food my mom would make me when I'm sick, to the clothing that combines many East Asian cultures and if not, accurately depicts existing traditional clothes and hairstyles or choices like the water tribe, and Air Nomads or The beach episode, Azula's clothing is loosely inspired by Thai clothing. Avatar was made from a lot of research. This show is absolutely beautiful and very well written.
So talking about nostalgia being a big part of this, I also showed someone this recently who had never seen it and she hates cartoons and anime but I begged her to give this one a try and she ended up loving it and is now more open to other cartoons because of it. It is just an amazing story that anyone of any age can love.

Toph and Katara can't stand each other for a couple of episodes, everyone is bullying Soka, and Toph is being savage with everyone almost all the time. Even Aang who is pro peace and love, has some disagreements of the others, especially as soon as someone disrespects Appa.
I'm a South East Asian. I'd love to write fiction like Avatar sometimes with western people. The problem with these people, I believe, they try so hard to be miserable. To have problems with anything that exists. Japanese people made fictions out of Western Culture as well. Not as a cultural appropriation, but rather a love letter of a kind. Cultural appreciation is more accurate in Avatar's case. And I think it's more of a love letter for anime and asian culture in general. I really don't mind when a western person made a fiction based on South East Asia and the people. The only problem I'd have is if they ever present a bad writing in characters and/or plot, to which I am not going to label it as 'racist' (unless there is a form of racism in it). People need to stop bashing stuff and call it racist, saying it as a 'white thing'. You can't even give a valid point out of the most ridiculous argumentation based on the stupidest subject. I can kinda see how you could get the 'reading off of the script' impression with Iroh in like the 2 or 3 first episodes, but I can forgive all that because Itoh is the best uncle there will ever be. I only watched Avatar during covid, because my sister saw it and I thought I would like it. I absolutely loved it. So no, it doesn't get so much praise because of nostalgia.
"you can hear the script being read" ah yes, congratulations, you figured out how voice acting works so apparently something can't be anime-inspired/influenced? So if I draw something inspired by anime, it's a cheap knock-off? There's nothing wrong with being inspired from other animators. Disney's animation inspired many to enter the animation industry and try to get into CalArts, yet no one complains about that. Why? Because it helps the industry GROW and CONTINUE to inspire. And to those calling it an anime rather than influenced, it was animated in Korea and the US. The only time they got a Japanese studio to work on anything from Avatar TLA or Korra was for Korra's Book 2 Spirits where Tokyo-based Pierrot stepped in (Studio Mir initially declined to do Book 2 after being so exhausted from Book 1 so Pierrot stepped in to animate Book 2; but due to problems within the agreement Mir was reached by creators to do half the episodes rather than Pierrot doing the entire season). And last time I checked...Koreans REALLY don't like being called Japanese. Because of you know, the atrocities and comfort women. Atrocities that the creators try to replicate with the Fire Nation. In all fairness, Aang did get the avatar state activated by a stone hitting a chi point. That always did seem odd to me. It almost makes me think you could ignore the training and self-reflection and just activate it with acupuncture. Then again, maybe that is exactly how it works, and in the next series, a chi blocker will be able to mess with the avatar state in ways we have never seen before.
I think i heard somewhere that katara mentioned to aang he had a lot of energy tangled up there, something like that, and when he hit the stone the area sort of cleared up or rather that tension was released and the energy in his body was able to flow well enough for him to go to the avatar state. Makes sense since he got hit with lightning in the middle of the whole process so its almost like all the energy got stuck in place as the process was stopped abruptly.
But it’s deeper than that. A fire bender Azula shoots down an air bender Aang. He’s saved from death by Kitara a water bender, and right before his life would end, the final element of earth restored balance. All four elements were presented and even in the avatar cycle. And since it was his Earth Chakra, the Chakra dealing with survival, it really is fitting that it’s fully restored by the element in of it’s name sake.
i first watched avatar a year ago and i finished the entire series including lok and i couldnt stop watching i was always like “1 more episode” then i watch a whole season
Avatar’s art style is anime inspired, but is pretty different from it. Also, Avatar clearly had a greater budget and production value than most anime, making the animation quality way higher, so the argument it looks like a cheap knockoff is pretty weak. If something is cheap, it is anime in general, because the Japanese animation industry is pretty poorly funded.
Plus, mimicking the anime style to a T wouldn't be a bad thing anyways. It's pretty well known in the art community that crying about someone 'stealing your style' is childish. Every art style is inspired. Anyone is entitled to the anime art style, not just Japan. Most anime are just carbon-copies in terms of style anyways (not all of course,) so I don't get why it would be considered bad to just yoink the style. They do it very often in Japan.
Dude I rewatched this whole series in college as background noise when I studied. My roommate found me when I was halfway into season 2 one night and asked what the show was. I love Avatar: The Last Airbender I don’t care if it’s not really anime, the show is gold. And the story is incredible I loved every second of this show! :)
And a show doesn't need to be anime to be good either! There are plenty of western shows that are masterpieces and plenty of animes that are absolute trash and vice versa.
@@xfakelucid6504 Exactly, it all depends on how well the story is actually written. It really doesn’t need to be anime, Avatar feels like it’s it own thing which makes it special. And like you said most animes are trash when it comes to story and writing.
Tbh, in terms of depth (content/lore depth, emotional depth, spiritual depth), ATLA is better than any anime i’ve ever watched. “Everything is connected”
The people who thought it was “cultural appropriation” probably don’t even know what that is lol. They probably thought “oh! Big word make me look smart!”
Of course they don't know what it is. Because "cultural appropriation" is not a real thing. You can't steal culture. Culture doesn't belong to anyone. Culture belongs to EVERYONE.
The reason that I DON'T watch subtitled Anime is because I can't hear emotion in their voice (constantly). I am not saying that the acting is bad, I am sure that to a native speaker it is quite good. But I have too much to focus on between reading (I am a slow reader, so pausing a lot) and what is happening on screen. It is usually the more subtle emotions, like sarcasm. But occasionally, even more obvious stuff like "sadnesd but being stoic". I have watched shows and not understood why people liked it until the English dub comes out later.
@Anonymos Person the main reason for that is usually because when people watch anime, they don’t know Japanese (referring to non-Japanese ppl watching anime) so because of that, they can’t tell the specific nuances in the language. For example, if you don’t understand a language, you won’t be able to tell if a character has a lisp, accent, or how they’re enunciating their words, since you don’t know how that language’s words are usually pronounced, so you put more value onto the few/one thing you are able to understand, the emotion, therefore it can make it seem as if sub is superior to dub, when often times they’re equal. Now don’t misunderstand, I’m not trying to crap on sub, I’m sure the voice acting is great and fitting, I’m just pointing out typical reasons why ppl say sub is better than dub and what not. Anyway, continuing my point, for dub, since you understand the language, you can understand all of it, including its flaws, so its quality may seem worse simply because in English you can perceive the flaws, but in Japanese you can’t perceive many (if any) flaws due to not knowing the language, this also means you put less value on the potential emotion in the Eng voice acting, which could make it seem less special At the end of the day though, whatever you want to watch you can, if you prefer dub, cool, if you prefer sub, cool, it doesn’t really matter Also don’t take this as an attack or anything, I’m not trying to start an argument or something, just clarifying stuff and also explaining that, in modern times, anime dubs are usually just as good as subs
I don't have a huge problem with keeping up with the subtitles, but my biggest issue is that trying to divide my focus between the static words at the bottom of the screen and the action taking place ends up making me motion sick. If the screen I'm watching on is big, then it's even worse. I've tried watching subbed on my large TV before, and I felt so dizzy to the point of nausea after one episode. It took almost a day for the headache to stop. It doesn't stop me from watching things subbed that never got an English dub, but the experience can be very unpleasant sometimes.
Nah, the one guy kind of has a point about it being anti-climatic. Not mad at that statement. Because Aang didn't figure out how to energy bend on his own. It seemed like he sort of got lucky that lion turtle got close enough to call him over and teach him that conveniently the day he needed it. But that by all means does not make the show a bad show. Avatar The Last Airbender has so many hidden gems in it, the writing was masterful, the characters were great. Action was top tier as far as nickelodeon standards go and it pushed boundaries and tackled pretty serious issues to be on a network like that. Overall, the show as very well-done. Damn near perfect. One star my ass😂 Anyone rating it that is just trying to standout and be different.
I went through a phase of not liking the energy bending scene but if we look at the battle as a whole. During the first half of the fight Ozai is in control. For me it’s not anti climactic because of you pay close attention to all the moves Aang uses they are signature moves of Zuko, Toph, and Katara. So we get to see Aang using the different abilities he got from his masters. Technically Zuko’s move almost won him the fight. However, we have to deal with the no killing rule. Though the writers needed to figure out way to have Aang without killing the Fire Lord the very fact that they allow Aang to struggle with the dilemma always gets me thinking. To me, if writing makes me think that hard then it’s good writing. One thing I read recently brings up an excellent point about Aang. Aang is the last of his people, his culture is something very close to him and to him preserving is very important. In a sense it is selfishness when held against what Yangchen says about Aang’s duty to the world vs his duty to his culture but it’s still understandable. As for the Lion Turtle. The Avatar has a connection to the spirits and the Lion Turtle does too. Aang meditated looking for an answer and the world/spirits sent him one. Even so, when it comes to Energy Bending. The whole non-killing thing seems to factor into it because the Lion Turtle mentions a spirit that must be unbendable. Even when Aang is energy bending Ozai, I think Aang’s doubts about weather he should kill Ozai is what gives Ozai the advantage at the beginning of the energy bending battle. Then Aang turns the battle around and takes Ozai’s bending. I think that’s due to Aang resolve. All his doubts were clear and he made up his mind on what he was going to do. As an adult I am quickly starting to realize a person who has a pure heart and mind really can make big change in people around them. This doesn’t mean being naive, it means seeing the world for what it is good and bad and firmly choosing your path.
I'm actually watching ATLA with my mom now, because I watched it when I was a kid and then about a year ago I rewatched the series and fell in love with it so much again, so I wanted to show her this masterpiece. From the second day of watching she was already setting-up the tv to watch because she keeps beiing so excited about what will happen next :)
1:30 it is a fusion of cartoon and anime. it is very fun way to add he best of each. this animation is neither cartoon or anime and she can say whatever she want she'll be wrong
I kind of love that they basically all boil down to "I'm going to criticize the show for stuff I made up" and/or "I'm too dumb to even try to pay attention to what the show actually included."
“The show appropriates Asian culture” It was inspired by various Asian cultures, yes, but in its own way in its own universe. Apparently saying a culture is interesting and taking inspiration from it is racist these days.
The nostalgia factor is ridiculous, I’m 14, was hardly alive to even see the legend of korra (which I didn’t), I picked up on this show with my sister and we loved it, and now I am reading all the comics/novels.
“you move ur arms like a crazy person” ah yes. The movements totally weren’t inspired by real martial art forms and techniques. Just mindlessly flailing your arms around makes you a bender. 11/10 review.
Tbh i kind of agreed with the dude that talked about aang unblocking his chi by slamming into a rock. I understand it makes sense because azula locked it when she temporarily killed him as he tried unlocking the last step in the avatar state training. But other than the method being kinda boring the scene and everything else around it during that fight were great. I love atla.
You can tell people don't go beyond the first episode when they are convinced Zuko is the threat here.

@@AverageLowElo69 looking through the first 13 episodes,
-the first and second primarily were initially made more like normal nickelodeon shows so they have more child like humor which makes them difficult to watch for many, though even 4 somewhat has this. The animation also isn't at its peak, and fight scenes were done quite poorly right at the beginning
-The waterbending scroll has always felt a bit off to me, due to the quick shift into katara's jealousy, though that could be establishing character traits
-Jet is a decently awkward episode, at least in my eyes, with the main villain character being solid, but having Katara immediately initiate anime fall for plot feeling sloppy
-and the great divide is the great divide

I wouldn't really say copy. I think "inspired" does fit it better. They combined catoon and Anime style.

Yes! I was looking for this comment!
Interesting Aang's past lives never tell him explicitly "You must kill the fire lord" when he asks for that advice. I remembered it that way too, but if you look at their final advice Aang ends up satisfying all of it with his own way in the end:
"Be decisive"
"Only justice will bring peace"
"You must actively shape your own destiny and the destiny of the world"
"Selfless duty calls you to sacrifice your own spiritual needs and do whatever it takes to protect the world"
Even so, it is ironic, Yangchen's advice seems the closest to "You must kill the firelord even if it's against your ideals"

They watched TLOK season 1 by accident
(Also, the fake ouit that Aang is gonna lose at Energybending was also a bit needless, having that fake out at the very end when he's winning and there's literally no other way things could go)
[To respond to one of the comments above too, I believe the ending of Korra's Season 1 isn't too bad, as the whole season established the antagonist as unbeatable, so finding another way to defeat him is actually quite clever.
And it's better than dbz
totally, in avatar there’s always something moving in the background, a lot of “blink and you’ll miss it” moments that aren’t the main action of the scene. in anime a lot of the time its just the mouths moving or its just a slow panning shot, or seeing each individual characters reactions to things. it makes it a lot more fun to watch when you can see characters reactions in the background instead of slowing the episode down by showing literally every character gasp for 5 seconds

I watched ATLA this year for the first time at the age of 28 and I absolutely love it, so my view isn't clouded by nostalgia.

so apparently something can't be anime-inspired/influenced?
Also, I play Splatoon and this show is my favorite Nicktoon of all time. Disrespecting the Splatoon fanbase like that is just as bad as those reviews

Ahh yes, the Yin/Yang, kung Fu style fighting, and LOTS of firework moments just screams Japanese. Yin/Yang was a chinese religion and belief, kung Fu was a chinese fighting style used for self defense and combat, and the chinese invented fireworks. if anything the show is based on chinese culture rather than japanese. plus, many cartoons look like anime and manga "knock-offs" and many animes look like "american" cartoons.

I mean sorta makes sense, get hit there and it’s blocked, hit there again boom unblocked.
It's karma being done with the fire nation. I loved it. Big guy tries to off a kid, the universe says "know what?" and uno-reverses it
I mean thats kinda what acupuncture is supposed to do. Aqupuncture is all about fixing and realigning qi.
Some people will hate on something just because its popular.
Fiction: *exists*
That second review guy: *IT’S ALL STAR WARS*
i first watched avatar a year ago and i finished the entire series including lok and i couldnt stop watching i was always like “1 more episode” then i watch a whole season
You really can't copy the art style of anime cause "anime art style" can't really be defined since anime has a variety of art styles lol

Anyway, continuing my point, for dub, since you understand the language, you can understand all of it, including its flaws, so its quality may seem worse simply because in English you can perceive the flaws, but in Japanese you can’t perceive many (if any) flaws due to not knowing the language, this also means you put less value on the potential emotion in the Eng voice acting, which could make it seem less special
At the end of the day though, whatever you want to watch you can, if you prefer dub, cool, if you prefer sub, cool, it doesn’t really matter
Also don’t take this as an attack or anything, I’m not trying to start an argument or something, just clarifying stuff and also explaining that, in modern times, anime dubs are usually just as good as subs
I just watched Avatar for the first time. I am 20 and I can confirm it still holds up amazingly ❤
Avatar grabbed the Aesthetics of anime and then applied it to Western animation standards. So it's probably more expensive.
Pretty much every review seems to be from people that HAVE NOT watched the show.
