Even 12 years after its ending , people are talking about this show and finding new details. Just shows how great this show is. Thank you Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for creating something so beautiful.
A small but often unnoticed detail I love comes from the masterpiece that is the last agni kai. When Azula is skating across the ground on her fire, circling Zuko as he attempts to blast her, notice how she always moves towards his left side. When Zuko received his scar from Ozai, it left him partially blind in that eye, and Azula both knows and uses it to her advantage. She's constantly moving into his blind spot.
Azula is such a smart, cunning warrior... So sad how many characters/villains are said to be that, but than get defeated by some stupid bs. And they ain't even in" kids shows".
You missed Zuko´s techniques during the final Agni Kai. While fighting Azula, he evades like an airbender, stands his ground like an earthbender, and redirects lightning, a technique inspired by waterbenders. Zuko had an Avatar journey of his own.
@@azumarill964 I think its because all the story beats were planned out from the very beginning. Its the perk of being a finite series. They only planned on a 4 season series, however the last season never came to be outside of the comics. They made changes as the show went on, such as adding suki as a secondary character rather then a one episode one off, but they still had each major beat planned out and knew what to foreshadow.
He always did incorporate other bending techniques into his fighting. For example, in the fight in the abbey we can see Aang and Zuko use the exact same bending move within seconds of each other, when he challenges Azula to an Agni Kai the first time, he attacks with a distinctly waterbending looking move, that his fire whips with which he fights in the catacombs aren't an original firebending move is pretty obvious, he uses his breakdance move both as a fire kata (final agni kai) and in hand to hand combat (agni kai with Zhao), I've never seen alyone else use fire daggers, and those are only the ones I remember from the top of my head. His strength never lay in raw power, but rather his incredible versatility.
There’s also how Zuko sleeps. When he’s alone or with people he doesn’t trust, he sleeps on his burned side, and allows his uninjured ear to hear things while he sleeps. When he’s with Iroh or the gang, he lets the injured ear show, proving he trusts them enough to be on lesser guard.
Another detail is that in the final Agni Kai, the music is tragic, rather than epic. It really cements the fact that they are just two broken siblings forced by fate and the war to fight against each other...
@Gabriella Maroney also the fact when they were asking why he was angry, listen to Azula's voice when she asks her question (are you angry) "At me?" She sounded so broken and sad. It kinda made me realize that Azula is just as broken, if not more, as Zuko. She just hides it under her cold and manipulative facade.
@@ban66a1 IKR?! I can see why people ship Zuko and Katara but I see their relationship more like a sibling bond of just straight-up "the two voices of reason" in their group.
I wonder if Azula had some jealously over the fact that Zuko was their mothers favorite and not her. And that’s why she always picked on him and that extended onto the throne situation (she wanted more power?), then the Katara and Zuko situation. All that could be tied together?
One thing I saw online is that while Sokka did not have any bending of his own, he learned importantly fighting styles and philosophies of all the nations. He started with the tribe warfare of the water tribe. Learned the art of the kyoshi of the earth benders. Discovered the inventiveness and ingenuity of the northern air temple. And finally learned how to swordfight with the fire nation.
Another detail you forgot to mention is Zuko’s honor & his Agni Kais. In an Agni Kai, it’s a one on one firebending duel where the loser is unable to fight or yields. Zuko, while being considered the dishonorable prince, actually had more honor than any of his opponents. First, he faced Ozai, & in it he surrendered. However, Ozai refused his surrender and scarred him. Then, he faced Zhao, who struck at Zuko after he lost. Finally, he faced Azula, who aimed her lightning at Katara, who was not a part of the fight. In all 3, Zuko’s opponents showed more dishonor than the dishonored prince.
I knew the Agni Kai with Ozai was wrong in many ways, but I didn’t know it was dishonourable in terms of conditions set for these battles. And even though I knew all the opponents for Zuko in these Agni Kais were dishonourable, I never really gave it much thought. This revelation is really incredible. It gets deeper the longer I think about it!
In the scene where Zuko is talking to Iroh in the prison, pretty much every shot of Zuko has him appearing to be behind bars, in the dim light. Shots of Iroh almost never have bars/make him look free because Iroh isn't really the one in a cage.
Also, in that scene when iroh talks about avatar roku, the bars cover the scarred side of zukos face, and when he talks about Ozai, the scar is visible
one thing i noticed is that when Zuko tries to firebend as a kid he can barely get out a flame. It is similar to when he tries to train Aang for the first time. My theory is that back when he was a kid he already had the idea that fire came from rage as he grew up to believe due to his family's nature. However he did not have that rage as a kid and so he could not produce the flames that he wished for because he was not angry enough. We do not see any more of his fire bending from around that time but i feel like his abilities probably would have started to go up soon after that scene since his mom disapeared within the next few days.
Well he still had a long time to learn before his unfortunate Agni Kai. And Ozai, like any abusive father, probably beat made sure his anger grew. So by the time dear old Mommy Ursa left and Daddy Ozai burned his face, Zuko was pissed.
I like it how when Azula and Zuko were kids and they got gifts from Iroh, Zuko practiced with the dagger, while Azula told him how bad he was at it and that he should stop trying. Forward a few years and Zuko's a dual-wielding sword master. Goes to show how dedicated Zuko is to his training.
Azula really wanted the dagger, a cool sword even, but Iroh insulted her and got her a doll (her story is similar to Toph's). By this time Azula had already demonstrated she was a better bender and fighter than Zuko ("early to bloom") so her uncle really insulted her... thankfully she was a psychopath so she didn't take his idiocy too personally, at the time.
I took Iroh's gifts to be more telling of his wisdom then anything. Zuko got a dagger from Iroh to encourage him, since he was always getting discouraged by many of his peers. Azula, who was younger but always trying to be on par with the adults, got a doll to encourage her to be a kid. Zuko always finds a way to take his Uncle's advice and Azula always just spurns it.
The fact that Iroh got Azula a doll means that he didn't respect her personality. On the original topic: it also shows how Zuko refused to listen to his sister. She was just jealous, and he knew she lies.
@@CatGold5047 no iroh was just trying to maker azula understand that she was a kid and needs happiness in her life While he gave zuko the dagger to encourage him
Another cool one: Aangs foot prints are significantly lighter than the others as seen in the Phoenix King to show he's light on his feet. Hence why toph calls him twinkle toes.
Toph calls aang twinkle toes probably just cuz its funny and hes light on his feet because hes ya know an airbender he’s constantly moving he needs to be light on his feet in the episode where aang fight bumi he says an airbender’s strategy is to dodge and evade
The most shattering thing about Azula's mental state is that all that stuff about her mother telling her that she used fear to control her friends, was all in her mind. That means she KNEW all this stuff in her head, but kept it buried, and refused to accept it, and when the truth surfaced in her schizophrenia, she, at last, began to go insane when she finally had to confront the reality.
It really built up when Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her. When Mai said "I love Zuko, more than I fear you" cracked her because on her mind, that is what her mother is saying to her.
One of my most favorite things was seeing the episode when Zuko and Aang found the sun tribe and their ceremonial music was the same music that was always played over the end credits. I felt like it was foreshadowing how important that was for Aang and Zuko.
Katara: talking about how hard it is to lose her mother Sokka: uh she was my mother to- Toph: my parents don’t accept who I am- Zuko: my father burnt my face Aang: y’all have...parents?
I love how this show doesn’t make Aang have multiple love interests and gave Sokka two love interests where he doesn’t cheat on either of them. He makes sure that he’s moved on from Yue before ever accepting Suki’s love and I think that’s so much better than half of the shows out there with male or female protagonists having multiple love interests thrown on them and they just cheat on all of them
@@muhammadtouseefkhan1704 I mean, technically, they also represent a certain way of relationship-advice. In the end, Korra accepted the fact their relation broke down, and moved on, while remaining on good therms.
I’m a teacher, and my fifth graders talk about this show and love it. It’s so astonishing for me because this show premiered when I was in fifth grade myself
This brightens my day. I was like 6 when it came out and I saw it as a rerun, loved it then and now getting to see all the little details as an adult it's just amazing. Truly one of the greatest cartoons to come out at that time.
It warms my heart when my students talk about Avatar! Hard to believe it has been so many years since it first aired, but not surprising how such a great show is still enjoyed by children (and adults) alike.
Another detail: when Toph first meets iroh and had tea, she was squatting instead of sitting normally. This shows she didn’t trust this ‘old stranger’ and had to keep an eye (feet) on.
Also they didn't mention but for Iroh's energy redirection technique (8:24) we literally see him invent it in S1E2: The Avatar Returns! He gets hit by natural lightning, while on a ship in a battle with waterbenders, and invents the technique.
@@Shadow-kz9fb Ozai and Azula knew how to MAKE lightning, not REDIRECT it. Iroh specifically said he invented the technique while watching waterbenders. How often do you think he gets to watch waterbenders?
another detail: zuko telling the truth to them about him sending sparky sparky booman actually is an important thing since otherwise would toph sense that he was lying and loose their trust
@@rozfalah38 That was Sokka’s name for the guy, and I’m not sure Zuck said it. Pretty sure he just called him an assassin. Feel free to prove me wrong though, cuz it’d actually be cool if he did say it.
@@Sunny-uz8cw You're not wrong. Zuko calls him assassin, Sokka repeats it in indignation (Something like "YOU sent Combustion Man after us?!?"), and Zuko even says, more to himself: "That's not his name, buy yeah..."
The story started with a blue light going into the sky as Aangs iceberg was opened. The story ends with a blue light going into the sky as Aang takes away Ozai’s bending. Brilliant writing.
Also know that the first epsiode was titled "The boy in the iceberg". And the last was called "Avatar Aang". All you need is a comma in between the two. "The boy in the iceberg, Avatar Aang"
Zuko: “I know what you’re going to say, she’s my sister and I need to get along with her” Iroh: “No, she is crazy and needs to go down.” Another episode... Zuko: “If the Earth Kingdom discovers us, they’ll have us killed.” Iroh: “But if the Fire Nation discovers us, they’ll turn us over to Azula” *looks at each other and nods* Zuko: “Earth Kingdom it is.” I just love these quotes and the fact that Zuko and Iroh can be funny when they are serious. 😂
the main thing i had problems with was the Princess Yua did not sacrafice herself to save the Northern Water tribe, she sacraficed her life to save the whole world............. HUGE DIFFERENCE
Yes. And might I add that in that same episode when aang combines with the ocean Spirit to create Koizilla, anyone who was implied to killed by the attack that's not really Aang doing the killing. It's the rage of the Ocean spirit using Aang's avatar body as a temporary vessel.
She sacrificed herself for the moon spirit, who gave part of its own life to her at her birth. It was partially to save the world, partially to repay a debt, and partially because of their strong connection. If you want to nitpick.
one of my favorites is how they give away that Sokka's Master is part of the secret organization of the white lotus. There are white lotus everywhere in his house; in the garden where they fight, in the door entering the property
I don't think so since because at least one of her feet are on the ground all the time, it'd be the same no matter what. It would only blink if when she lifted her foot off, the other foot would still be in the air for a second before coming down. If the foot comes down after the other is lifted, then it would be like blinking. If the foot is already down, then it'd be the same.
The part where I cried the most was when Azula kinda realized she was insane. I loved Azula’s character mostly because you could tell her voice actress was pulling her struggles out through Azula. Azula’s declining character development hit different.
Azula was basically Toph's foil. Uncle Iron even insulted Azula with a doll while giving a dagger to Zuko. Toph was not a psychopath though, so Toph took her family's ignorance more personally and with more forgiveness.
@@letsomethingshine Honestly I think that toph would be azula’s foil just because toph knew how to handle her feelings correctly (usually lol) - like you said. I may just be a little confused 😃
@@letsomethingshine well I think iroh gave her a doll to make her realize that she needs to enjoy her childhood He gave zuko a dagger to encourage him....
It would have been satisfying to see her realize that Zuko cares for her and wants them to be family. Zuko sees her breaking down and partly understands it. If her breakdown happened earlier in the show, he would have wanted to help. As is, she never realized that her brother cared for her and her father only saw her as a tool to be used and discarded when that usefulness ceased.
The fact that Uncle Iroh really waited to the day of the black sun to break out of prison - the day fire benders loose their bending - really let’s us know how strong he is and it’s not just fire bending that gives him strength.
When Zuko fought Azula in the final Agni Kai, you can see him using any moves from any benders. Like how he flows the fire like Waterbender, how he stood the ground and separate the fire like Earthbender and how he did "breakdancing" like Airbender.
Katara also uses techniques against Azula that are adapted from other nations fighting styles. Hiding and deflection like an Airbender, she pulls the water up from under her in a move that lookes like earthbending and then after she had frozen Azula and herself she breathes out to get free like Zuko did when he was stuck in ice in season one
@@theosteven3362 no that is not the case. you have misunderstood the rebirth philosophy. Acc to your understanding, human is the highest form of life, but that is not the case, Gyatsu can be reborn as anything, depending what life ensues afterwards. Many animals live a divine life, many humans live a disgraced life, so its the quality of life and not the form of life that is important
@@theosteven3362 the lemurs of the air temples are seen as sacred since they flock to the temples. i think the highest honor for an airbender would be to get reincarnated as a flying lemur or sky bison
When Katara is learning to heal the path that Yagoda shows her on the practice dummy to heal a person is the same path that Iroh tells Zuko that lightning must follow in order to redirect it. Before Zuko is burned he cries out of both of his eyes, but after he's burned he only cries out of the eye that isn't scarred. The only other time you see Zuko cry out of both eyes is after he is burned is when Iroh forgives him.
What about the small musical detail in The Cave of Two Lovers? The scene where Aang and Katara are about to kiss, you can hear the same notes in the finale when they actually kiss. I feel it’s a really obscure detail, but it’s enough to cement the idea that they kissed in that cave imo.
Bruh do some people think they didn’t kiss 💀. How lmfaoo. They were literally about to kiss until it went dark and right after they were free from the cave. Are people dense?
@@justingutierrez4961 My guy the tunnel is called “cave of two lovers” and didn’t they say that the only way to get out was to show love or kiss? I forgot but ik it had to do with love. Also the fact they were literally leaning in for a kiss and it went dark. Which tbh happens in many tv shows, cartoons, anime, movies, etc. Like bruh what do you people think happened? And then after that they immediately were able to get out of the cave. So if people were to put 2 and 2 together they’d know they got out because they kissed lmao.
Also! When Azula and the girls were disguised as Kyoshi warriors talking to the earth king sitting down. Azula: It’s a shame we can’t trust the people closest to us Tylee and Mai look at each other in this exact moment. Foreshadowing the betrayed to Azula.
That is interesting foreshadowing because I don't think Mai and Ty Lee actually had plans of betraying Azula... unless they did? Could make for a good theory. I haven't read the comics if this is mentioned outside of the show
I actually wonder how Momo managed to survive, his species seems to get litters, but he doesn’t seem to have any siblings... heck we don’t see another lemur.
I believe we see other lemurs in Legend of Korra. Maybe they didn't have the time or the resources to draw many flying lemurs in AtLA, so they just showed us one at the Air Temple
I thought of something similar with Appa; we know how Appa survived, but in Legend of Korra we see a bunch of flying bison, which is weird considering Appa seems to be the last flying bison in The Last Airbender
My favorite detail is where Azula made her debut in a flashback where she’s next to Iroh when Zuko gets his scar, before she made an appearance in the Book 1 finale.
When there is an episode exclusively about one of the 'pets' of the group: "Appa's Lost Days" and still you are heavily invested, you know you have created a masterpiece!
It also meant she had moved on from playing with dolls and into playing with people's manipulatable emotions and memories instead. It was the classic: Pseudomature move.
ok so, when guru pathik is talking about chakras the first one he say is: "The earth chakra, located at the base of the spine, it deals with survival and is blocked by fear." and what Aang fears most was Ozai. but when Azula shot Aang at the base of the spine he almost blocked the chakra because he almost lost his survival. then when Aang was fighting Ozai, whom he feared the most, he was hit in the base of the spine from surrendering his fear from Ozai and then regained access to the avatar state. personally I find this the best detail and if it doesn't make sense you can reply to me. :) edit: also Aang was making a shield from earth, which is what the chakra symbolized
Hi Owen, Aang isn't actually hit at the base of the spine (which is really just above the anal outlet) but more in the center of the spine, however, that doesn't mean your theory doesn't hold up and chakras aren't rigid anyways. I like your observation!
There was a cool detail that I noticed and caught during the episode with Hama and her bloodbending. While watching that episode, I wondered to myself "Why can't Toph sense that Hama is lying?" I thought it was merely an oversight, but when I scrutinized the whole episode again, every time Hama lied in Toph's presence, they were all standing on WOOD! Just freaking blew my mind how carefully thought out it all was.
In every episode Toph hangs her head and is always listening and on high alert but in the one episode that her and Katarra go on a spa day, she holds her head up high because she feels pretty and carefree for a change.
Scrolled through the comments to see if this was posted. That part was so well done, like yes she's juiced up by the moon so she has the power to do it, but she did it using a completely different form's technique. Also the scene is beautifully animated, the water lingering there as she's just staring down Hama through the dispersed droplets is *chef's kiss*

I relate to Toph when she told Iroh how she felt about everyone feeling the need to help her because they think she is helpless and can’t do anything on her own. I have autism and I get frustrated and annoyed when people think I don’t know what I am doing.
My grandmother have Parkinson (in a light stage) but as it weakens her legs and sense of balance, she requires a walker to get up, yet she adamantly gets annoyed when peopel fuss over her walking around the house, always insisting on getting up on her own, bless her heart.
Zuko and Iroh tie for my favorite. I somehow resonate with both of them at the same time, and I absolutely love their dynamic. Iroh is just an all-around wholesome character with a heart of gold, and Zuko’s character arc is sooo touching... he always had good in him (even if Iroh was the only one who could see it), but kept trying to follow his father’s path for him. And once he truly found himself, he began to question if he was worthy of acceptance all over again... only to learn that he had never lost Iroh’s love. Gah! I absolutely love these two!
another great point of foreshadowing for Azulas mental health and success is actually her hair. One of the earliest scenes have her depicting practicing lightning bending before her teachers, and they say something along the lines "almost perfect, only a single strand of hair out of place", to which she replies "almost perfect isn't good enough", perfectly setting up her character as a perfectionist hard on herself. However, unbeknown to us then, that scene tells us exactly what we are suppose to look for: her hair. Every time she lighting bends, one of her strands get out of place. But there is a scene where she has no strand out of place - and that is when she shoots aang in book 2 finale. Earlier that season, she conquers ba sing se by disguising herself as a kyoshi warrior - who have the tightest hairstyle in the series. So the two instances where she has done perfect, are the times her hair is shown perfect. Then it goes on to book 3, where they make it very obvious. When she looses at the air temple, the animators deliberately made the choice to let her hair down. It could have been easily rewritten that she just held on to a easily grabbable stone, or it would be in character for her to carry a knife on her person. Yet she is seen using her crown / letting her hair down. Ultimately, that leads up to the finale, where she cuts off her hair. There are smaller instances of this, for example the beach scene compared to the day of black sun, or her hair almost going wild when ty lee and mai betray her, which honestly, is an amazing detail.
In the comics, we find out Zuko and Socka had learned to fight with a sword from the master, Master Piandao. Piandao also told Sokka to use the name "Lee" when he was undercover, which is the same Alias Zuko uses through most of book 2.
Another one is the first time we see Iroh redirect lightening. He did it in season 1, the storm episode, his face was extremely shocked and almost looked like it was the very first time he redirected lightening.
In the episode " The Southern Raiders" when Azula and Zuko had the fight and punched eachother making them fall of the balloon, You can actually see Azula grab her hairpin right before using her firebending to jump to the wall.
My sister and I also noticed that when the other avatars are depicted in their avatar state, their eyes flashed instead of glowed. We thought it meant that the other avatars would have more control then Aang, since Aang is still really young. And in the final battle, Aang’s eyes glowed the entire time (while he was destroying a bunch of rocks to get to Ozai) but his eyes only flashed when he used the water to put out the fire that Ozai had caused, showing that he had more control at that time (and the water movements were really gentle calm during that scene!). I dunno if anyone else noticed or cared, but my sister and I freaked out when we saw Aang’s eyes flash instead of glow.
Aang is 'bland' compared to the side characters/enemies for most of the show, but that isn't a deficit as he is the mediator of the physical and spirit world so he kinda makes everyone more vibrantly themselves in comparison. I think he is a well-done main character, and doesn't hog the stage which allowed everyone else's characters to be fleshed out.
@@Joey-rs7uq calling aang bland is illogical to me lmao (not to dis your opinion ofc) but to me aang was and still is one of the best characters along with katara and zuko also, i dint know how people will call aang bland when there’s characters like toph and sokka?? Of course I love this characters (tophs one of my faves) but it’s obvious which character had more development
Aang's scar from azula shows that his response to conflict is to run from it since its on his back. Zuko's is on his front because he faces his problems head on.
Yeah, that was a pet peeve of mine. Aang ran a ton, especially in the fight with Fire Lord Ozi. Stick your ground son! You're the avatar! But wte. It is what it is.
When Sokka said "Man, sometimes I forget what a powerful bender that kid is" it always gives me chills, I loved it so much because it erased any doubt that anyone had in regards to just how powerful Aang is even without the avatar state.
Zuko: "I know what you're going to say to me: She's my sister and I need to get along with her." Iroh: "No. She's crazy and she needs to go down!" I love Iroh! Man I love Iroh! He was so awesome!
I never noticed aang's scar on his foot stayed throughout season 3. Prob cause I was too focused on his back scar. Always makes my scoliosis spine tingle... Also didn't know toph slept with he feet up in that scene. I think I knew all the other facts though, besides the naming ones

Here’s one detail: Have you noticed that when Zuko’s sleeping, he either sleeps on his scar side when he’s with people he doesn’t really trust, or in case of danger, and sleeps on his good side when he’s with people he trusts?
I always thought Momo had more significance than they gave him after seeing the first episode with him. That makes sense that they had a plan to make him be the reincarnation but then let it go.
One detail a lot of fans might have missed, is how Sokka knew that the Spirit World has no bathroom in it. Back to S1E7, Sokka was abducted by Hei Bei, the forest guardian spirit (when it was in it's dark form). By the episode's end, Sokka returned to the mortal world, seeking for bathroom as he needed to go to one because he had to either pee or poop. Fast forward to S3E6, while Aang was in the Spirit World with Avatar Roku, the former's physical body positions itself as if he was pooping, leading Katara to asking for the presence of bathrooms in the Spirit World. Sokka then quickly answers, "As a matter of fact, they don't." Meaning, Sokka might have tried to find bathroom in the Spirit World as he has been in that world for quite a long time that hee needed to go to one when he was abducted, and was unable to find. Another one is that, Yue means moon in Chinese and Suki means moon, also, but in Japanese. So you can clearly say that Sokka has a thing with the moon.
This video is really good, but I'd like to correct something: Yue didn't save only the moon but the entire world. As Iroh and Aang tell Zhao, the four nations depend on the moon, on the balance.
Do... do people actually think their relationship came out of nowhere..? They're Crushing On Each Other In Season 1! It's one of the most blatant examples of two characters having feelings for each other ever! The reason Aang doesn't finish his training with the monk is cause he can't bring himself to let Katara go! They Kiss Before the day of Black Sun! There are so many examples of them having feelings for each other!
This show really shaped me as a person. Especially since I was young when this came out, i saw more than just “cool animation” for its time. I understood the deep messages and understood that it was more than just entertainment purposes. This is literally a life lesson in a show. Aang teaches us to forgive, even the ones who have hurt us the most. Katara have showed us growth, and that life SHOULDNT always be taken too seriously (especially at her age because she was forced to grow up since she lost her mother) Sokka taught us that just because we are different, it doesn’t make us any less special. (Him not having powers) Toph taught us that having a disability doesn’t make us less capable. Zuko taught us that pride sometimes gets the best of us but that we are still human, and that love and acceptance is key for anyone, even people considered “bad” These were the basic things I learned as a kid. And then growing up and rewatching it made this show even more beautiful for me; especially with minor details. This show all in all is a masterpiece. And it’s one of the best cartoons of all time.
Even 12 years after its ending , people are talking about this show and finding new details. Just shows how great this show is. Thank you Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for creating something so beautiful.

That’s kinda heart warming... 🥺
You're seriously smart bro
heck never noticed that one, you learn smth new every day
The fact that people watched Zuko sleep that closely lol
But I’m all seriousness that hits different
Wow good detail
Another detail is that in the final Agni Kai, the music is tragic, rather than epic. It really cements the fact that they are just two broken siblings forced by fate and the war to fight against each other...
@Gabriella Maroney also the fact when they were asking why he was angry, listen to Azula's voice when she asks her question
(are you angry) "At me?"
She sounded so broken and sad. It kinda made me realize that Azula is just as broken, if not more, as Zuko. She just hides it under her cold and manipulative facade.
@@jmie7686
Also Azula was jealous to Katara because Zuko treated Katara more like his own sister than Azula herself.
@@ban66a1 IKR?! I can see why people ship Zuko and Katara but I see their relationship more like a sibling bond of just straight-up "the two voices of reason" in their group.
@J æ m i e
I can see that, but I feel like they had a couple of awkwardly ship bait moments
Wonderful ☺️

But he’s a boomerangbender.

@@lyly_lei_lei😂👍🏽 ...ya not wrong
YOOOO
All 3 of Zuko's oppenents also "drew fire bending from anger" instead of the real reason. Ozai, Zhao, and Azula all fought with rage and nothing else.
Great insight! I didn’t think about that before
Excellent observation! I never noticed this before.
That's one of my favorite details
Ooh! Chill's, I never noticed it, it's an amazing detail
Wow thats just amazing
Never saw that detail
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WOAH YOURE RIGHT!!!!
He was a student of master Piandao...
@@CatGold5047 no iroh was just trying to maker azula understand that she was a kid and needs happiness in her life
While he gave zuko the dagger to encourage him
Another cool one: Aangs foot prints are significantly lighter than the others as seen in the Phoenix King to show he's light on his feet.

She was only great at lying to others, but she could NEVER lie to herself. I wondered if Iwe could sense her honesty. Is that how it is spelled?
Somebody actually made a video breaking down her psychology, and it's actually really interesting. I think it was like an hour long tho
It really built up when Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her. When Mai said "I love Zuko, more than I fear you" cracked her because on her mind, that is what her mother is saying to her.

Actually he used the moves from the dragons dance and more basic firebending styles.
That was a move he always had though. At least to my knowledge

Yes Jenny, i love your brain! You articulated something I've thought but never quite confirmed

This show was so well written and mature and immature at the same tym ...making it one of the best shows of all tym.
He did it in season 1, the storm episode, his face was extremely shocked and almost looked like it was the very first time he redirected lightening.
yesssssssssss! I just re watched this episode and noticed it for the first time!
It probably was the first time. Or maybe he was surprised that it worked on natural lightning
In the episode " The Southern Raiders" when Azula and Zuko had the fight and punched eachother making them fall of the balloon, You can actually see Azula grab her hairpin right before using her firebending to jump to the wall.
Wow I never noticed that. She’s such a smart and badass queen
It is sad that even Aang is the main character, most of the people don't appreciate him. He is underrated in his own show.
actually everyone prefers the complicated side characters with epic character arcs
No way! Really? I just love how his non-violence motto is his greatest strength. Like, how rare is it, and how hard it is to make it work.
@@aangisbestboi3984 toph not really changing trough the series kunde fits with her being an earthbender as she is immovable physicaly and mentally
The scariest thing about Azula, are her nails
i mean and her mental state
More like dragon claws
Nah it's that iconic Azula sound effect.

Aang's scar from azula shows that his response to conflict is to run from it since its on his back. Zuko's is on his front because he faces his problems head on.
omg you're righttt
Yeah, that was a pet peeve of mine. Aang ran a ton, especially in the fight with Fire Lord Ozi. Stick your ground son! You're the avatar! But wte. It is what it is.
When Sokka said "Man, sometimes I forget what a powerful bender that kid is" it always gives me chills, I loved it so much because it erased any doubt that anyone had in regards to just how powerful Aang is even without the avatar state.
Zuko: "I know what you're going to say to me: She's my sister and I need to get along with her."
Iroh: "No. She's crazy and she needs to go down!"
I love Iroh! Man I love Iroh! He was so awesome!
Thumbnail be like: AanG Is TopHs FoOt.
I never noticed aang's scar on his foot stayed throughout season 3. Prob cause I was too focused on his back scar. Always makes my scoliosis spine tingle...
Also didn't know toph slept with he feet up in that scene. I think I knew all the other facts though, besides the naming ones
Zuko: “She’s my sister and I should be trying to get along with her.”
Iroh: “No. she’s crazy and needs to go down.”
When Iroh says that then you know you are hopeless case
Ever watched Escape Room 2? Claire and Azula are like clones of each.other
Another thing about learning from the elements, is in the final Agni Kai, you can see Zuko using forms from all bending styles.
When and bows, he salutes with his hand in the style of the person he’s bowing too. Each nation and even the spirits have unique hand gestures

I actually agree with this list. Except Ozai, he ain’t shit.
Best Show Ever. I was 12 when this aired and I still watch it every now and again.
Fun fact: sokka got more chicks than the avatar himself
The little girls in Kyoshi Island: *Haha, no.*
Aang was (at about 12 years old) barely interested in girlfriends. Sokka was much more interested in dating than Aang.
@@stupididiot6410 Sokka had a chance with all of the girls in the one episode when he did Haikus.

Fortuneteller: you'll be with a powerful bender
Aang:😏
Thumbs up just because they pointed out Kataang and how their relationship didn't just come out of nowhere
Yassss
Yes some people think it was forced but it was foreshadowed that they will end up together
Do... do people actually think their relationship came out of nowhere..? They're Crushing On Each Other In Season 1! It's one of the most blatant examples of two characters having feelings for each other ever! The reason Aang doesn't finish his training with the monk is cause he can't bring himself to let Katara go! They Kiss Before the day of Black Sun! There are so many examples of them having feelings for each other!
It's one sided on Aang's side from the beginning. Having a precocious crush doesn't mean they *have* to end up together.

Katara have showed us growth, and that life SHOULDNT always be taken too seriously (especially at her age because she was forced to grow up since she lost her mother)
Sokka taught us that just because we are different, it doesn’t make us any less special. (Him not having powers)
Toph taught us that having a disability doesn’t make us less capable.
Zuko taught us that pride sometimes gets the best of us but that we are still human, and that love and acceptance is key for anyone, even people considered “bad”
These were the basic things I learned as a kid. And then growing up and rewatching it made this show even more beautiful for me; especially with minor details. This show all in all is a masterpiece. And it’s one of the best cartoons of all time.
Another thing to note. Toph tightly holds onto Sokka whenever they're on water because she's unable feel what's going on
iroh: make a circle. ME: its the most beautiful circle i ever saw

Both their names translate as ’moon’...
And don’t get me started about jack de sena and the dragon prince...
the lion turtle that aang saw was the lion turtle that gave the first avatar fire bending you can tell because of the mark on its forehead

I just have to say that the betrothal Katara wears, was Kanna's (Katara's grandmother), not Kya's (Katara's mother)
Kanna gave it to Kya
Kanna gave it to Kya who gave it to Katara, so technically at some point it had been Kya’s
(I may be wrong on this, I haven’t watched ATLA in a while)
@@haztac5973 u are very right
