    This conversation can be very sensitive, but it's important to explore this video with an open mind.
    I just want to encourage everyone to be their self and find happiness in their personal beauty.
    Average is fine.

    Ever since I’ve stopped using filters, I’ve actually liked my natural features more. I used to always use filters and it skewed my own perception of myself and I felt disappointed that I didn’t actually look like that. Now I never use filters because I’ve come to love the way I look as is.

      That is so beautiful I am happy to hear that. We do not need the filter, we never did! Keep believing that and keep loving yourself. You deserve it.

    In my mind if someone says average looking they mean the norm. Statistically either extremely ugly or extremely beautiful are actually rare everyone else is average. there should be no problem with this. Average should not be an insult or have negative connotations. Ppl use cosmetics or surgery to make them selves above average. Nothing wrong with looking normal and natural as long as you are not neglecting your self care. And I agree social media has messed with ppl. Growing up young girls didn't wear heavy makeup like I see now

    • @JordanMBS222
      @JordanMBS222  Год назад +7

      Great point ! You are absolutely right. There shouldn’t be a Stigma associated with “Average”. Yes, social media has done a number on society, especially the younger generations. It’s going to be really interesting to see the impact on the next few generations.

      The average flower is still considered beautiful. I believe that the average person is beautiful. People fawn over average beauties all the time and not just because of their personality. There is ugly, beautiful and extremely beautiful.

    I don't know how you ended up in my recommendations, but thank you for making this video. The ability to separate one's sense of identity and worth as a person from one's looks is critical and increasingly rare these days. Average is not an insult.

    There's no such thing as being average looking bc ppl rarely look the same. Someone can be unattractive, attractive, or more or less attractive but to say someone is "average looking" is ignorant of the beauty of diversity.

    This was a good video, I always tell people why I'm not so find of makeup and everything like that. You start to lose yourself in that sense because you feel as if you need it. A perfect example of someone who didn't care about beauty standards was Lauryn Hill. She was definitely ahead of her time in not caring about the beauty standards and she is forever beautiful, as well as India Arie. I loved this vid!!!

      Yes ! I always found myself more drawn to The Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Tracee Ellis Ross, India Arie and just other natural black women that were beautiful and confident in their skin ! I’m so happy you feel beautiful and confident in your journey ! Keep it up ❤

    I just wanted to comment and say that this video has helped me reached a realization that I’ve struggled with which is that I am average and beautiful and that’s okay! I would get so upset because I couldn’t make myself look like the gorgeous black girls on tik tok, twitter, instagram, or everything else. I spent so much money towards getting my makeup and hair done so I could fit a criteria that I thought I had to fit. But as I look back at those times, I didn’t like it because I didn’t look like myself. Those things for other girls are great for them because that makes them happy, but I’ve accepted that how I averagely look is more than enough and makes me happy 🥰

      I love it ❤ That makes me feel so genuinely happy for you. It’s liberating when you realize certain trends or looks , just aren’t you and it’s okay . ❤ It’s hard being in a superficial society. Just remember your beauty is YOU. Your heart ❤️ Your essence . The way you make people feel. The things that make you ,you. The effortless beauty you are .❤

    Beautiful doesn't just exist on the outside. I am an average looking black male. I don't get a second look, but I am so proud of my blackness. I lived in Puerto Rico for a while and as most people know, they are pretty attractive, that was the only time that I felt unattractive because, although most people are of color, black is considered unattractive.
    I lived in Europe. I found most of the people there pretty average looking. Black people are adapting white people's standards of beauty. The people who the they consider the most beautiful, I don't see it. I feel like black people are becoming so whitewashed, that is sickening. We have to celebrate our African heritage. Don't just say that black is beautiful, know that it's true.

    I can relate so much, I'm average but pretty enough to be okay with wearing minimal (just eyeliner and lipgloss) to no makeup on a daily basis. When it comes to my hair, I grew up with my mom doing my natural hair and only when I was a teenager that I started to wear box braids and I have stick to it until today. I have never used wigs or weaves, just box braids and twists now and my mom had her hair relaxed when I ws very young and then she started to just wear it natural or in box braids. It feels weird to add more to my hair or face and trying on social media filters also felt odd to me because when I look at the mirror I feel like I really like my face too much 😂 😊

    • @JordanMBS222
      @JordanMBS222  4 месяца назад

      That’s so beautiful! I’m happy you are embracing your true and natural beauty ! It’s true ! It’s weird when people keep using the filters , because although it can make an image look “better” in terms of things like lighting. You can’t add a filter to reality / in person interactions . 😂So when you go crazy with filters people will see you in person.. and the rest is history 😂😂

    Being picked first isn't a compliment but being picked last because you're "ugly" is an insult in my opinion. Because it summarizes your worth to the opposite sex simply by what you look like and now who you are as a person. Men who often choose based on how much they want to undress her will often be the same ones complaining about "gold diggers" and jealous over other men who want her for the same reason he picked her.
    A LOT of people are going to end up lonely chasing beauty instead of character then beauty.

    • @JordanMBS222
      @JordanMBS222  Год назад +3

      Beautiful perspective. A lot of people will end up lonely for choosing people based off of looks alone , or in terrible situations. ❤ It’s Rewarding to be first self accepting and learn to love or learn people for who they truly are💞

    It's not just that if a guy is a cheater he will cheat. Sometimes things in the relationship are missing and another person might fill that hole.. It's funny that women try to understand men by just talking to other women. You need to understand men by talking to men. That's the only way you will understand each other and be happy in a relationship.
