Too short man! sounds epic though. No sticker? She came in a Vintage box i see.I had this superb Les Paul copy in black with the gold hardware and all beat up! Loved "Lola",But tragic "misunderstanding" with workmen saw the end of her.Yeeeesh!!
Thanks! There wasn’t much to show with this one as it was damn near perfect out of the box (despite UPS’s best efforts). The next and final video in the series is longer. After that is a big amount of gear damaged very badly in a house fire. For sure check that out. I am getting ready to shoot an entire series on the proper setup of not only the Floyd Rose but all the other things people call a Floyd even though it isn’t. Like an Ibanez edge, Jackson JT6, gotoh 1996, etc. That one will be specifically to help all those that are beyond frustrated with their locking vibrato system.
Leo Quan Badass was acquired by All Parts in 2019. That is why they are available again, but as Leo Quan Bad Ass II and also LQBA III. Same specs and judging by reports, the same quality, although many hardware Manufacturers, including Fender caught up to their standards while they weren't available.
I seem to remember this with every MIJ Geddy I played. A little deepening of the slot and it was fixed. Never noticed the neck move but it is thin. Now my Steve Harris version 2 with those SH rotosounds moved a lot. Had to drop the gauge but they’re still flat wound! V3 still has his rotos on them.
Congrats on the purchase! Had one until bills needed to be paid. Want to get another 70s style jazz bass but being a couch player cost is an issue and am looking for the best bang for the buck. Would love an American geddy but budget says squier or sire. Any thoughts on a good budget 70s jazz bass? PS…Wow just saw the date on the video…lol. Still glad I saw it but RUclips algorithms are wonky.
I would say that a nice squire is a great budget choice. The sire is good too as well as many other brands. The main thing is and will always be how good the setup is. A good tech can make a square play as good as anything.
Let me tell you as a nontechnical 'plug in and play' guy I admire your technical skills, guitar collection, personality, humour and openness. This channel should be huge!
@@johnglynhughes4239 that is so kind of you to say, thank you so very much. It will be huge or I will die trying in the process. With my personal belief system either way I will not fail. In my estimation you only fail when you give up and quit.
The bridge on my Japanese one is not crooked. The slot for the G string was not deep enough. It was easy to take care of by slotting the bridge the rest of the way.
Every Geddy Lee bass i have ever seen in person had messed up placement of the bridge its sad they were at the $949 price now they are at the $1299 price 😮

I just discovered this video! Cool as always.

The fender bridge they came up with I feel is actually much better than the Leo Quan. I have both and was shocked to feel that way.
Great video! What a beauty. How would this MIJ compare to the Made in USA version?
I’ve never played a USA Geddy but I really love this bass.
Very interesting, I have the same model, and had to do the same thin in the saddle on the G string, Great Bass but the Neck does move a lot.

This was so cool. No damage. Small adjustments. Sounds great!
Why thank you.
Nice Bass Eddie!
Glad it came in one piece.
Great video!
Thank you Oliver. I figure if there was a problem you could go tell Geddy since you are bothe in Canada.
Love this video, brilliant stuff😃
That means a great deal coming from another Rush loving bassist. Especially after hearing you play YYZ!

Geddy Lee & Steve Harris also two of my bass heroes as well!! 🤘💯
Hell yeah my friend! You check out the Stu Hamm one? He is part 3.
The bridge is crooked? I have the Geddy Mexico and...yes (3mm to right)

Did you get your bridge repositioned properly?

Every one I have ever seen has the bridge in exactly the right place.
