Missing out on David Villa, after Euro’ 2008, him and Torres for Spain was unreal. If memory serves me right they wanted 25-30m and we bought Robbie Keane for 21m and sold him 6 months later for a loss of 7m.
Would of said not signing Anelka on a permanent deal was one of a biggest mistakes

I was buzzing. We needed that mean streak and nastiness up front.
Few hours later he signed for Chelsea. I’m convinced to this day he chose Chelsea because of higher wages.
I get why we are sensible on wages, but when players of that ilk become available then you have to pay them that little bit extra, especially when a rival club is prepared to pay more.
Once again it was the frugal and strict policy nature from our beloved owners why we lost out on a top player.
I hate their transfer policy, I hate their wage policy.

Rafa Benitez pushed for us to sign Aguero but the owners wouldnt pay 16mil for an 18 year old. So we signed Craig Bellamy instead

I really liked this episode Craig but surely Nabil Fekir should have made the top 5? We even had him in the kit! My personal ‘one that got away’ was Yehvin Konoplyanka. The lad never turned into a world beater but we were crying out for a winger that January and I genuinely believed that had we have signed him then we would have won the 13/14 title. I’ll never forgive FSG for allowing Gerrard’s legacy to be tarnished like that.
It’s not a top 5 list Glenn, it’s just a collection of five that we put together. I’ll likely make another similar one again soon and I’ll make sure to put the Fekir deal in. Thanks for watching ❤️

Genuine question here.. Why do fans care so much about the price of players? All I ever see is fan channels saying "nah I wouldn't take him at that price" or "why aren't we signing the best players like City and Arsenal are??" There's no win between😂.
One minute we're moaning and moaning about not spending enough money, the next minute we're moaning about spending too much on a player😂 saying "nope that's too much for him, I wouldnt pay that much!" Sorry, WHAT😂?
If the club believe the likes of Neves is the next world class player in that position, why wouldn't you want to sign him for that money?? It isn't your money they're spending ffs🤣!

Back then they were cheap afraid to spend , and moving on a few years later they are still in the same position afraid of spending.
Nothing has changed then, as sounds very familiar, pulled out of signing Ronaldo because of cost, just to see two weeks later he joined Man Utd for three times the fee, then Dan Alves, yet again pulled out because at time we felt transfer fee was to high, now more recent we have seen Declan Rice, Bellingham full away, I wonder who will join the list of players who we Could of signed.
