As there were other events happening that I wanted to film today I only managed to video half of the Guard Change.

Brilliant video as always!
Marches played by the Band of the Irish Guards are:
"The Red Men’s March" by Robert Browne Hall
"It's Yerr Day" by A Barras & C Shelton
"Mick’s March" by Mick Henderson
Band of the Grenadier Guards are:
"Relentless Advance" (Rastlos Vorwärts) by HL Blankenburg
"On the Quarterdeck" by Kenneth Alford
Thank you for the names, appreciate it.
Nice to hear a few new marches. Hopefully someone will post a list.
List added @daveleadbeater7652
Thank you very much Mr. Baton for posting this wonderful video, as usual you have made a great job!
Thank you.
Ah, there you are again MrB, serving we armchair viewers so admirably. Thank you🥰 A super video, as ever, recorded by someone who knows where to be and how to present the result.
I read earlier today that today was the last day, before going on well deserved leave, for the Band of the Irish Guards. It’s always aesthetically pleasing to see matching plumes in the bearskins, even though it makes little, if any, difference to the resulting sound. But here today we have SDM Chambers of the Irish Guards leading the Band of the Irish Guards. It’s s somewhat apt that, at 8:49 , they strike into “It’s Yerr Day”, a march composed by band member C Shelton and his colleague A Barras , dedicated to SDM Chambers and played by the band here. Wonderful🥰
I’m going to leave it to Delvin to tell us the marches played by the Band of the Grenadier Guards, in fact I’m itching to know😊
Many thanks again MrB, you’re a star.
Quite possibly today was Gareth Chambers' swan song leading the Band of the Irish Guards. It's Yerr Day seemed to be the tip-off. The band won't be accompanying guard changes again until mid August.
@e.chambers2973 Well, I hope it's not😥 But I'm just an onlooker and haven't really a clue as to how these things work. I've just really enjoyed and admired the way in which he has fulfilled the role, each appearance has been a masterclass.
@@AnnofWales21 I could be wrong, you know. Just my speculation; I don't know anymore than you do. Adding to my suspicions though I noticed in another video that covered the Irish Guards' march from BH Palace to St. James's that the band played The Ballyragget, Irish Saffron and Rhythm of the Line - Sounded to me that they might be playing a selection of his - or someone's - regimental favourites. On the way up, as you know, it was It's Yerr Day and Mick's March. Unusual to have that many Irish tunes in a changing the guard playlist. We'll find out sooner or later...
@@e.chambers2973 NOO PLEASE I HOPE ITS NOT I HAVENT SEEN ENOUGH OF THE SDM YET
