Every pro was once an amateur.
Every expert was once a beginner!
Just remember not to practice just to get it right but practice until it can never go wrong.
Thank you for the comment, appreciate it. Practice, ride and fun. This I will try for sure :)
Excellent approach to getting the best from our Transalps. I admire your methodical approach and will copy it for my own upskilling.
Thanks and happy riding!
Geoff in Tasmania
Thank you Geoff, appreciate it 👍
Your excellent English makes these videos all the more valuable. Thanks for putting in the effort to even do that! 👍🏼
Thank you, I'll try my best 🙏
I admire your will to learn and improve your skills, even if I really don't like to have anything else than asphalt under my vehicles wheels.
Thanks for the comment, there is no other way back 😉
Great video. It's terrible that people throw trash everywhere. You should try to organize a clean up crew to clean the trails up. It'll keep more trails open.
In all our trips we try to clean...unfortunatelly too much trash to carry....greetings !
you are a good educator so i think these videos will be good….
Many YT publishers that do not show from start to manage and then on. They forget all the hard parts for a beginner.
Most people who have courses or have so-called training videos on RUclips have mostly been riding off-road since they were kids...
Thanks for the comment. I wanted to show my perspective as a casual begginer rider. I started riding motorcycle only since 5 years, but it's what I would like to do from now on, I just love riding the bike. Therefore, I would like to invest time and effort to accomplish better off-road / on-road skills and ride safe. I am also glad to share all my learning steps from now on, with your support if possible. Greetings !
Very interesting series.
Keep going Good job!
Thank you Kostas, I will 👌
This is so cool. I have also started training myself for more off road with a heavy bike. It's challenging, but very rewarding. Wishing you good luck on your journey!
Thank you Adam, appreciate it and good luck to us 😁
Those tires for THAT trail is overkill. You could do that trail on a GSXR with racing slicks.
Yes, you're right. Even without tyres, just with the rims
Hi. I wanted to update you on the issue of lifting the gear pedal so that a riding boot can more easily enter the gear lift. What you did to lift the pedal, can cause the direction of the quickshifter to change, so it is better to lift one tooth on the axis of the gear. I did it and it's really great.
I thought about the axis, but my mechanic told me that way...I'll check it out one more time and give it a try. Greetings !
Nice video dude. How many km do you have until now? Also what tyres are you using?
Hello! So far barely 6000 Km and I use Mitas Enduro Trail XT + Dakar.
You are in a right way but in an opposite beginning my friend. I am speaking as an automotive journalist. As a journalist, i borrow and ride a bike, push to the limits and in case of a crash, not such a big deal (of payment). When we say "off road" this is including huge range levels of difficulty. Off road is crossing a river, off road is climbing a mud hill, off road is going uphill and downhill where no road exists but only fields, or mountains or desert, off road is speeding at 150 km/h through a coastline. My advice is to buy an old, cheap XR600 (or anything else, but with a higher than 50 HP power) and practice with no fear of damages. My Transalp is already equipped with attractive off road gear. But practicing with her is an extremely smooth process, since, any crash will cost me enough hundreds of euros. The other "hidden" cost of practicing is possible injuries. Please pay attention for your personal gear. Boots, any kind of protections, gloves, googles etc. Any detail has a significant importance. I like your ability to upscale yourself and i will watch your progress. But please do it following the proper steps. Wishes for endless joyrides!
Thanks a lot for your imputs. I've started this and there is no way back. I would really like to learn it on my Transalp 750, knowing as you said that some eventual damage costs mai occure. I would have loved to start by crossing the rivers, climbing on mud etc, things I've already done partially with my previous bike and even with the Transalp last year on one of my rides. My purpuse is to build confidence step by step, and then increase the Off-Road difficulty level. Also there is no way I can afford having multiple bikes, no logistics and time for that. I look forward myself to see how everything goes. Your feedback it's very valuable, thank you once again !
@@IdealBike If your ride will guide south, towards to Greece, just let me know
@ride-fly-dive Sure 👍
Hi. Can you write what type of 50x50 tires you bought for your motorcycle and are you satisfied with how they react in the field and on the road?
Hello ! The tyres I've bought are 80/20 : 80% Off-Road and 20% On-Road. They are amazing Off-Road, plenty of grip, lot of stability on any surface. On-Road they are difficult to make the curves, especially because of the front, but still manageble after some usage.Haven't used them on RAIN, don't know how they are. If you ride Off-Road they are amazing, and the DAKAR version lasts more.
Mitas Enduro Trail XT + Dakar
Is that a seat cover or different seat?
It is a different seat. You may wanna check out my video about it, you have all the info there:

Stock suspension or upgraded?
Stock
The uro version looks soooo much better than u.s version 😢
It's the same, only the colours are different. The accessories are making the difference and tyres
I had similar idea last year, got even a dedicated bike for that, an old Suzuki Freewind. It is about 180-190kg with all the crash and luggage addons.
I also do not have to adjust traction control or abs. That bike is simple and even for its year of 2002 it is quite old-style.
Riding slow was quite ok for me, my biggest fear are slipping wheels. Especially because I am just 170cm, so my feet can be to short to prevent a crash once the bike slips. I had already such encounter and decided to get offroad boots, because even the slim freewind hurt my ankle badly...
I still mostly ride sitting on slippery surface like mud or loose sand. The following video was last year with street tires. The arrows indicates where google maps reported some "roads"
ruclips.net/video/JnwUGgcROIk/видео.html
I need to stand up on faster roads because the Freewind's suspension easily bottoms out. When standing the center of gravity isn't lowered but my legs become part of suspension or the bike suspension has less mass to handle.
Meanwhile the Suzuki has Mitas e07. It handles much better in mud, it even diggs itself thru sand, however the front wheel needs a lot of attention then because it sometimes slides (my nemesis).
I found @Ariemann1, @MotologyFilms very inspiring, however he is very advanced so the learning curve feels very steep for me.
Currently however the offroad project was halted / adapted because the Freewind stayed in Poland while i am in Germany.
Moreover my wife got me into quads ;) which are sometimes even much more exciting.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts ! Riding boots are deffenetly a big must, that's why I've bought the O'Neal RMX Motocross boots, for better protection www.maciag-offroad.de/shop/artikelbilder/normal/115036/o-neal-motocross-stiefel-mx-boots-rmx-eu-1.jpg
They are not so comfortable but very protective. Taking this process with confidence and commitment I strongly belive that great results can be acheived. Best wishes to you and your wife ! :)
