if you look closely, kratos actually lost since, what made him a beast and cause him his nightmares went even deeper afterwards and finishing off the whole world zeus wasnt even the main villain, he was just saving his off from the father-son prophecy ares is the one who won in all this, he wanted to create such a beast who feels nothing, sees nothings, considers nothing before his anger and vengeance.... its so ironical that kratos escaped the soul trap of ares and finally became that himself with his own will and power athena was the next biggest mastermind, while zeus was devicing all measure to save his ass... she was creating a plan to rule the world afterwards since she also knew that prophecy wont be turned down and zeus is gonna die.... and she was helping kratos all this long just to get what she wanted (else why would she even care to help kratos in the first place and also after when he stabbed her) she wanted to recreate the world, not because she wanted a better world, but to rule it as she was the only god/goddess left in this world... kratos stabbing himself to release all the power in the world actually saved this world and athena was also defeated

With god of war 3 being the last game that hinted a sequel,true fans waited 8 years for the next god of war. I played god of war from the very first at ps2 2004 and i have completed every single one of the games and have platinumed them all. My love for this game is insane i cannot describe it. I even can relate personally to Kratos since im from greece and my name is Διογένης=Diogenis which literally translates to Son of God.I even have a tattoo on my leg. The pattern Kratos's spartan clothes had on them.I have replayed all the games many times and i can say that for me this is the best EVER game series that have ever came to be. A story that expants 7 games aka a whole generation. I played the game when i was 6 years old and today im 21. Its safe to say this game raised me and will continue to do so

kratos actually lost since, what made him a beast and cause him his nightmares went even deeper afterwards and finishing off the whole world
zeus wasnt even the main villain, he was just saving his off from the father-son prophecy
ares is the one who won in all this, he wanted to create such a beast who feels nothing, sees nothings, considers nothing before his anger and vengeance.... its so ironical that kratos escaped the soul trap of ares and finally became that himself with his own will and power
athena was the next biggest mastermind, while zeus was devicing all measure to save his ass... she was creating a plan to rule the world afterwards since she also knew that prophecy wont be turned down and zeus is gonna die.... and she was helping kratos all this long just to get what she wanted (else why would she even care to help kratos in the first place and also after when he stabbed her) she wanted to recreate the world, not because she wanted a better world, but to rule it as she was the only god/goddess left in this world... kratos stabbing himself to release all the power in the world actually saved this world and athena was also defeated

Well it is based on ancient Mythology, and the Ancient gods were to be feared and respected.
You know this franchise was the deciding factor when I had to make the choice of Xbox or playstation. This BLEW! me away. After playing this I never regreted choosing Playstation.

The only reason the Gods got so scared of Kratos was because he opened Pandora's Box, the very box that contained Evil and Hope and and Athena must've Thought that someone like Kratos would receive all the Evil while all the other Gods recieved Hope but nope it was the opposite Kratos Recieved Hope while all the other Gods got infected by Evil.
Athena must've been plotting a plan to Take over Olympus all for herself because Zeus put away Pandora's box for a Good reason and didn't want anybody to open it,
And what does Athena do?!? she tells Kratos to Open it😑 from my point of view Zeus has no idea Kratos was gonna open Pandora's box because if he did knew then that would make him look like a Dumbass and it would be a Huge Plothole, but like i said Zeus didn't know Kratos was gonna open it, Only Athena knew, and Zeus was a Good Guy because he was the grave digger assisting us on Kratos quest to beat Ares just had no idea he was gonna open Pandora's box Zeus knew that Kratos was his son so he must've thought he could have taken Ares out with his Demi God power.
And when Kratos is bashing Zeus's face in you can see Black smoke come out of Zeus's mouth that means Zeus was free from the evil that was attached to him he was Good again,but Kratos didn't know that so he proceeded to Bash his Fathers face to death....He only found out that the Gods went crazy and hateful was because of what he did in the very first game it was all because of that Box/Pandora's box

Ares tricks Kratos into killing his fam, he gets revenge on Ares, becomes god of war, argues and kills Zeus and the other gods leading to the earth to become fucked up, and that's where we are at! Thanks for the awesome summary!!!! Very good quality
With god of war 3 being the last game that hinted a sequel,true fans waited 8 years for the next god of war. I played god of war from the very first at ps2 2004 and i have completed every single one of the games and have platinumed them all. My love for this game is insane i cannot describe it. I even can relate personally to Kratos since im from greece and my name is Διογένης=Diogenis which literally translates to Son of God.I even have a tattoo on my leg. The pattern Kratos's spartan clothes had on them.I have replayed all the games many times and i can say that for me this is the best EVER game series that have ever came to be. A story that expants 7 games aka a whole generation. I played the game when i was 6 years old and today im 21. Its safe to say this game raised me and will continue to do so
I love the whole saga and how everything connects. Can't wait for the next tales of kratos

Zeus raped everyone usually disguised as someone they trusted. Hades kidnapped his "wife" every fall and forced her to live with him in the underworld. Aphrodite cursed the Trojan people because Paris proclaimed Helen to be more beautiful than she was. basically the old gods were assholes.
