I’m 71. Went plant based 5 mos. ago. I’m down 70 lbs. to 165. Feel great and off most meds. But cooking has been my nemesis. Thank God for this channel! You have revived & enhanced my WFPB.
@@maryg3143 The ingredients list: kale, brussels sprouts, broccoli, green cabbage, red cabbage I've eaten it many time and didn't even realize there was broccoli in it
I discovered a trick for keeping avocados fresh for a really long time. It has been awesome because I live rurally so don't get in to the city often. Avocados are something I absolutely love and so often had to do without them because I would use them up before we could get back in to the city to get more. I froze them but they are not as nice thawed. But then I discovered that if you purchase a bunch of avocados at once, let them become the perfect ripeness and then put them into a large jar fill the jar with cold water and put a weight on the top to keep the avocados submerged and put the jar in the fridge. I have a large one gallon glass jar that used to hold pickles and it is perfect for this. The avocados will keep perfectly for over a month! Astounding and fabulous. It has been a real game changer for me.
Made this last night for my lunch today (with a few little tweaks as per our English seasonal salad items, radishes and celery). Wow! I can only describe this as a guacamole-houmous-salsa party in my mouth! Absolutely truly delicious and never eating a bought take out lunch again. Thank you WYW xxx
What a great recipe...beyond hummus! I love hummus but it gets a little boring even if you add different things like lemon or garlic. My favorite bread find from Trader Joe's is their Organic Super Bread so that is what I will use to put this spread on. Also I only use organic dried chickpeas that I can buy in bulk. When you make your own they have a better flavor because they are not water logged. How to: Soak chickpeas in water overnight, if longer change water. Cover chickpeas in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Lower heat and cook for about 35-40 minutes or until soft or edible. I usually put a bay leaf in for some reason. The chickpea water is called Aquafaba From google: Water in which chickpeas or other pulses have been cooked, used as a substitute for egg whites, particularly in vegan cooking: "the kitchen uses whipped aquafaba to lighten pancakes"
I am so grateful to you guys because this is the best vegan channel I’ve ever found. I like how wonderful the food is and how simple it is. So you’ve got one fan out here who is super grateful for you both❤🎉
I’ve only been wholly vegan for 1 month. I made this today and WOW! Talk about a huge POP of flavor! You do indeed make being vegan easy Reebs and Dillon… Thank you! PS We don’t have a Trader Joe’s and I SO wanted some cruciferous crunch but I used a spring mix and added purple cabbage for more of a crunch, added an extra jalapeño and will probably add even more jalapeño next time😋 Absolutely delish!
I love your message of keeping it simple! After fourteen years of eating this way and cooking healthy whole food plant based food for my family, steamed potatoes and a giant pot of vegetable soup is wonderfully satisfying to me.
So quick, so easy, so tasty...my kind of recipe. Love how adaptable this recipe is...if you need to clean out your fridge at the end of the week...this is perfect. Thanks so much! Hugs 🤗 from Canada 🇨🇦
I just made this wrap tonight and absolutely LOVED it. A definite new favorite! I did not have cruciferous crunch, so I chopped some broccoli up in my little food processor and added that and a few pieces of romaine on top of the bowl mixture. Soooo easy, soooo delish! Thank you D & Rs! ❤😊
My husband's dr and I wanted us to read the book Eat to live and then follow it. For us we are old school and meat eaters so this eating change is major for us. I watched so.e of your stuff and it looks to follow some of the guidelines in the cooking and vegetarian eating. It is a whole new way of eating for us but we are going to do it and we are in our 70's
Hi Dillon and Reebs! Thanks for the recipe template. I just made this and it has been the only way I have found to make a can of chickpeas taste good! I think I was always under seasoning. When I used to eat in restaurants, I always loved anything with chickpeas, but could never make them taste good at home. I love that I can have chickpeas again without all the oil and other crap they add in and have them taste delicious! So, thank you again! Love you guys❤
Chickpeas, sweet potato or potato, carrot, yellow curry powder, sea salt, coconut milk, veggies such as cauliflower and wilted leafy greens at the very end of cooking will make you an excellent curry, the cumin in the curry powder blend is an especially good pairing with chickpeas. This and of course Falafel is one of the best chickpea dishes.
I am vegan and never have more than 5 mins in the am to make food. So that's my measure, 5 mins and out the door or go without! Hoping this works. Brilliant... will be shopping again next weekend. Excellente'!! YAY!
I made a version of this with frozen avocado and a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies. I was having trouble deciding between hummus or this spread . I blended up half of it with ice and left the other half sorta mashed. Both taste good. Thanks for the inspiration. You make radishes!
This video just appeared on my phone today, and I am so thankful.... I can't wait to try this Vegan wrap. Thank you for sharing!!! Please keep them coming!
My fiance and I are newish to your channel we say quite often that we want to make some of your delicious looking recipes. Today we are making this and it is absolutely delicious!
So excited about new seasoning and dressing I just order!!!!! Omg learning about decreasing Sugar in my diet…..EVERYTHING….every sauce…just about every seasoning has SUGAR in it in these stores….! Thx so much
Use actual spices, not seasoning mixes. Chili powder, a touch of cayenne pepper, and the juice of half a lemon. Some cumin would also go well in here. Those are basic spices you’d need to make chili. Buy the basics and learn how to use them.
Thank you! I just made this for my dinner...minus the Cruciferous Crunch but I'm going to T.J.'s tomorrow and picking some up...it was Delish..I used Romaine Lettuce leaves and this delicious smashed chick pea/avocado smash and made "tacos".... yummy!!! xo
I just found your videos today. Going to make these wraps for lunch. I just happen to have all the fresh ingredients and from our garden. Yummy. We love chic peas!!!❤ and avocado 😊
love this! Trying to get more "plant based" meals in my life. Already low sodium, so I really appreciated the shout out for low sodium. Thank you for such nice content.
Dillon & Reebs, I’ve been looking for this recipe since it aired on 9/1. I went out and got the ingredients, and the next day I couldn’t find it anywhere, I remember it saying unlisted or something like that, but I’m so thankful I caught it again. And I just got my goodies in the mail today! Thanks so Much! Keep pumping out those recipes, so I can buy more seasoning!😊
This just changed my life, Lol! Seriously, I just made this and it tastes great. I hate cooking (sadly) so this is so awesome. I WILL be making this again. Bonus - made this with mt son who is leaving for college. He likes it and will make it again. Can't wait to watch more on your channel.
I love your channel! You guys are great!! Thank you. The trick with the avocado is to keep the wrist holding the knife very loose and use it as a whip, so the knife can enter the seed. Much love!!
This looks delicious. I'm not vegetarian/vegan by any means but I like to limit it as much as possible and anything that takes less than 15mins to prepare is going to grab my attention if I like the ingredients. Thanks for sharing.
Have made these multiple times and my daughter loves them too, after I make the wrap I heat in oven for 10 min at 400 and the lavash gets warm and crispy too
Lotta comments… Mus' be a winner!! O M G! This is a bigger winner than all the WFPB tuna-not chickpea recipes. Mostly cuz of the simplicity. I'd add celery minced to this, but tha's jes me. This so versatile, doncha know. Lavashe is so varied. Trader Joe's (for lavashe) is farther than I usually go. The local best grocer with lavashe (H-E-B originally outta Kerrville, TX of all places. Now based out of San Antonio. 300+ Texas only stores) is now legendary in Texas. It has a charisma sorta like Trader Joe's (less cute theatrics, I s'pose). But super customer & vendor focus. Thanks for this recipe!
You can add so much to this recipe to make it even more filling, so celery would be a perfect addition! Luckily our TJ's carries the oil-free lavash, I know some people are not as lucky!
Amazing recipe! Just made it. So satisfying and flavorful. I followed your recipe exactly, with the exception of the seasonings since I don't have your Chile lime, but I had an alternative in the pantry. The recipe only took like 10 minutes to make and then I placed it in the fridge to cool off, then compiled the wrap. Thanks for sharing. I am enjoying your channel.
I have been eating this for 6 + years, at least 6 days a week. TJ’s too far away. I add to this wrap-combo…..chopped chayote squash and chopped Jicama. Both are super crunchy with no taste but incredibly nutritious. Never counted calories when eating this way. Dropped excess weight…keeping it off last 6 years.
It's also called Christophene in Trinidad, where I'm from..It has a lot of nutrition,Google it and u will be amazed. I have heard it's great for lowering cholesterol 👍❤️
Thanks for the easy recipe. Love that is SOS free with so many healthy ingredients. I'm #nutritarian so I will try it with ezequiel sprouted tortilla instead of lavash flatbread 👍
Unfortunately here in Pennsylvania.we don’t have a trader’s joe! We’re always at our Walmart or Sam’s!! Your so lucky you too. Thank you 🙏 so much for sharing this delicious meal. I love my avocado’s . I made a tofu with avocado toast.
This would be excellent with yellow curry powder as well. Or with homemade purple cabbage Sauerkraut, which gives an excellent complimentary tang to cut through the fat of the avocado

Hi Mark, that is so wonderful to hear! I am so glad we have been able to help you on your journey. Keep up the good work!
Mark that is awesome 👏
But plant based is sooo many carbs. I’m 70, pre diabetic. Guess I’ll try it again.
Read Mastering Diabetes. The carbs are not the problem. The fat is.
👍😋
I'm far away from Trader Joe's so I make my own Cruciferous Crunch. I just shred Kale, Red Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts. Easy peasy!
I live in México but I often cross the border into California to go to Trader Joe's. I wish we had one over here.
It's there anything else in the TJ's version? (There is no TJs where I live)
@@maryg3143 The ingredients list:

Taylor Farms Sweet Kale Chopped Salad Kit from Walmart. Don’t use the dressing.
How do you shred your kale?
My dad just sent vegan and is struggling with meals as a non-cook. I am thrilled to share your channel with him!
That's great, thanks Danielle!

Oh I forgot to add that if any part of the avocado peeks out of the water then the avocado will rot. Just keep them submerged and you are good to go.
Thanks for the tip!

I made this tonight, it was incredible! Only problem was….. I couldn’t stop eating it 😂🙏❤️
Made this. It is great! I added lemon juice + a touch of cipotle.
This is pure gold! Two of my favorite foods chick pea smash and pico together in a wrap!! And with avocado? YES PLEASE!!
