In fact, I actually find it superior to the tuna-soup that I remember from my meat-eating days.

I’m maybe in the minority but I’ve always been a fan of Subway’s veggie patty. 😂 I appreciated that they had a veggie option back in the day, when vegan/ veg options weren’t so available as they are today! I’d totally like to try this option though. It looks yummy and pretty easy to make too. 👌🏼🥳
gf option : swap the rice for quinoa ( to compensate for some of the gluten protein ) and instead of the gluten add buckwheat flour. I make so many variations of patties with lentils, beans, chickpeas etc they taste great ! I make my mayo with avocado oil and soy milk ( and flavour it with roasted garlic, roasted peppers, roasted chillies ) it depends on the mood of the day 😅. Thank you for sharing ❤ grains are so delicious and versatile!!
I love that you used the aqua faba at the same time. I always seem to have extra in the freezer and can’t always use it fast. Looks great! Would add peas, for that school lunch veggie stick feel 😂
Now, I've been watching your recipes on & off for at least 2 years casually and I've never commented here before. I thought I was in disbelief but you seem much more fit and shredded! Amazing work, we love people who strive to test their potential!
I looove sandwiches and they're the #1 temptation for me not sticking to a vegetarian/pescatarian diet. I'm going to make these and freeze a bunch of the patties to cook them throughout the month!
Just eat fresh fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds and berries and melons and lentils and read Dr Michael Greger's book How Not to Die and watch Seaspiracy.
DUDE!!! This might be the best sandwich I've ever tasted!!! I made this a week ago and it's literally been my lunch every day since. I added corn to mine, and some of my own favourite seasonings, and I got 8 patties instead of 6, but it is SOOOOOO good in a sandwich! I have my patty on a toasted bun with some melted vegan cheese, red onion, bell pepper, spring greens, cukes and a few sweet pickles with some vegan jalapeno aioli and it's incredible. Like REALLY good! I love how you can taste the texture of the patty and it's not just a mushy mess of veggies. And caramelizing the ingredients beforehand adds so much flavour! Also the patties freeze very well, so I'll be making larger batches in the future. These would be great as burgers too. Thanks again!
That chickpea patty looks really good and I hope to try this recipe, but I gotta say I really love Monica's nails! That nail polish looks so pretty and I was very distracted by it lol.
This was so fun to watch, especially because I'm making something from your cookbook today, so I feel like I'm getting "total immersion" Sauce Stache style!
@@SauceStache I made the washed flour meat, Oncle Hu Method. It came out really good! I had wanted to make the textured protein burger but was low on methylcellulose. But I just got a new order from Amazon yesterday so that's next on my list.

What makes it stick together? Can you use almond flour instead of chik pea flour. And I'm wondering if a little corn meal might taste good in a veggie patty. And baked is healthy, but i wonder how it would taste fried in a little olive oil? It also seems like you could experiment with various vegetables if you don't happen to have carrot, mushroom, and bell pepper at the time. Im thinking onion, broccoli, cauliflour, shredded carrot sound easy, good, and healthy. I usually have carrot. I love to experiment. Olives, black beans drained, maybe even mashed kidney beans, brown rice, hemp hearts, chopped walnuts.
Hello Mr Sauce, thank you once more for sharing this wonderful recipe. I was just wondering, is using a full blown oven preferable to you than using, say, an air fryer? Was just curious about how your recipes would differ if cooked in a small convection type appliance instead of a big, heavy, whole room heating oven, especially in the beginning of summer? In any case, keep the recipes coming my good sir. 😊
It may have already been mentioned, but of all the Subway's I've encountered, the veggie patty was made with egg, as well as the chipotle mayo..I am a vegetarian, so it wasn't a big deal, but they discontinued it in my area. Definitely going to make these tonight, thank you for the recipe, I'll will comment again once I've made these.
Glad I found you sir❤got all the ingredients💃making first thing tomorrow morning 😊 thank you. But I'd be grateful if you could show us subway vegetarian Patti 😋 I simply love it 😀
Love the way this came out! I’ve never had the one at Subway but normally always try veggie patty sandwiches when places have them, and they are definitely hit or miss.
Thank you!!!! Yeah Im actually always nervous to order veggie patties because I feel like they are almost always a miss when I get them. Some really great restaurants have served me mush patties and it drives me nuts!
I haven't seen one of your videos in a while and I was pleasantly surprised to see you've lost weight Mr. Stache. I noticed right away! And I love this patty recipe, can't wait to make some!

I'm not vegan, but I love vegan food. If I don't have chickpea flour or gluten flour, will regular all purpose flour work to substitute those two? If so, how much should I use? I used to work at Subway and liked the veggie patties quite a bit but had to toast the extra long to get it nice and crunchy.
Holy cow!! I haven't seen a video, for a minute.... You look great! It's weird seeing you thin, but I like u either way! Always always perfect ideas & dupes! Thanx, hugs from Arizona, Pamela
I don’t have chickpea flour or gluten flour. Do you think I can make this recipe taste good and come out right if I substitute rice flour and AP flour? Thank you in advance for your response!
I'm always amused when you are in your mad scientist mode and Monica is there being centred and appreciative. It's a great combination, both so important. Your exploration into chickpeas is fascinating. Have you ever made a sweet version of chickpea tofu? I saw a blueberry jelly sweet chickpea tofu recipe online and thought maybe it's one you could work on.
This looks so good! Thanks. Oh, and just FYI, if you're enjoying running now you'll get the bug and be up to a half in no time if you aren't already. Then you'll get the big bug and want to do a full, lol. It's addicting.
In Finland we used to have another veggie pattie made from chickpeas and quinoa - it was The Best and my go to but recently they quietly removed them from their menu without any explanation. Haven't had subway since 😔
I have tried your idea today - with a bit if califlower, broccoli and other ingredients. The patties sit in my oven and I will try them tomorrow as a mock subway breakfast 😉 great video by the way - you can get rid of all veggie leftovers this way.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I, too, have noticed that the 'veggie patty at SW has basically fallen off the flavor and texture cliff. I will make these and the sauce!!
I'd like to make this but I don't like water chestnuts, particularly the texture. Do the water chestnuts stand out a lot, or do they just kind of fade into the background? If it's rather "water-chestnutty," I might use walnuts instead.
I usually try to wrap up around dinner time so most of the time we just move over to the table or in front of the tv and finish haha if its any other time of day or if we have other plans it always gets wrapped up for leftovers. A lot of the time I freeze things for later use, and sometimes I just use it in a completely different way. I froze most of these, but I actually crumbed one up for a salad the next day.
Thank you very much for this awesome recipe ! I am gonna try this right away. I love kabuli channa (chickpeas in Hindi) the veggie patti that includes this will be amazing.
Not a fan of meat-based cold cuts. Finally I can try a sub again. The impossible double cheeseburger was pretty good. I used too much black bean. I will use tofu next and less cream so that it will still be patties not pancakes. Thanks for the help Stache!
The veggie patty looks great! But, YOU LOOK AMAZING!! I have been a subscriber for at least a few years. Most of your cooking is too involved for me ( read* lazy) but i do learn things. I will cook this veggie patty for sure. Omitting most of the oil. Thank you for your content. And, keep up the great work on your body.
I love this recipe! thank you! I must admit I think it's a bit weird to order the sub and replace the inside when you could just make whole wheat toast or some other bread option at home and slice a couple tomatoes and cucumbers if you want and throw hummus on it or your own sauce and enjoy or maybe I would make potato pancakes very thin and have those for the crust instead of the bread but I would not spend my money at subway probably because I'm poor now but even if I had the money to go to subway I wouldn't bother buying from them I would just make my own use the sub bread from the grocery store or whatever. But everybody does their own thing and that's the beauty of this world today.... Sending good vibes your way! Best wishes for good health and happiness always in your future!
I have gotta try this recipe, too bad I didn't find this before Lenten season. Also it's fun to see couples who are comfortable and seem to like each other. I'm going to subscribe and see what you think of next.
Why would you waste 8 bucks on a subways veggie sandwich just to remove the meat and replace it with your own ? 😂😂. Just buy bread or bake your own and get some veggies! make at lot better sense I'd say 😊
Thank you so much for this! My subway actually took away the veggie patty, and their veggie sub just isn’t enough. I will definitely be making this up, and freeze it for when I order a sub from them, and toss it in along with the veggie sub.
I like these recipes on your channel, really creative ideas. I've been a vegetarian for 2023, not because I'm being ethical or principled; rather because I can't afford meat due to inflation and the remote place I live (currently $21 for a paper thin 'sizzle steak' of dubious quality from the shop). So, many of these recipes are really helpful: for saving money, and I also feel a lot healthier.
I'm curious how you even got the Subway veggie patty sub anyways?? I thought they were discontinued? At least it has been in my area of the Midwest for YEARS now! It was my favorite sub there not just back when I was vegetarian, but even when I went back to meat, it still HAUNTS MY DREAMS!! 😆 The only option I have is to make them myself! Which is why I'm here...to find a good recipe! 😊 PS: Water chestnuts aren't a new edition. It's put out there like it is. They are an ingredient in Subways patties too! 🙂
I love this recipe and have been making it almost weekly. Do you know of an easier way to get the mixture on the baking sheet? It is such a mess using my hands to flatten it out 🧐

Thank you!!!! and yeah im working on running a good half by march and a good full by November!! I'm giving myself time
In Finland we used to have another veggie pattie made from chickpeas and quinoa - it was The Best and my go to but recently they quietly removed them from their menu without any explanation. Haven't had subway since 😔
This looks fantastic! Putting it on my recipe rotation!
Brov, you look very healthy and even more energetic. Well done and as always, great recipes 😘👍🏾
I’m new and trying to learn how to go plant base/vegan. Please what is aqua faba? Hope I’m saying it right
That looks AWESOME...! I would eat them with a side salad as well, or by themselves. They look like a good portion. Thanks for sharing.
I have tried your idea today - with a bit if califlower, broccoli and other ingredients. The patties sit in my oven and I will try them tomorrow as a mock subway breakfast 😉 great video by the way - you can get rid of all veggie leftovers this way.
That sounds awesome!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I, too, have noticed that the 'veggie patty at SW has basically fallen off the flavor and texture cliff. I will make these and the sauce!!
I’m definitely gonna make this. Thanks!
Please do! Hope you enjoy!!
I'd like to make this but I don't like water chestnuts, particularly the texture. Do the water chestnuts stand out a lot, or do they just kind of fade into the background? If it's rather "water-chestnutty," I might use walnuts instead.
Thank you for this recipe! I’ve never had a subway veggie patty since they have egg whites in them. But I’ll definitely give this a try.
Question: what do you and Monica do after the camera is done rolling...do you keep eating what you've made? You toss it? Save it for later?
I usually try to wrap up around dinner time so most of the time we just move over to the table or in front of the tv and finish haha if its any other time of day or if we have other plans it always gets wrapped up for leftovers. A lot of the time I freeze things for later use, and sometimes I just use it in a completely different way.
I froze most of these, but I actually crumbed one up for a salad the next day.
Mix the chickpeass in food processor, grate the carrots and pan toast the chickpea flour before using, makes smooth crackfree patties
I can't wait to try this!!!❤
Thank you very much for this awesome recipe ! I am gonna try this right away. I love kabuli channa (chickpeas in Hindi) the veggie patti that includes this will be amazing.
You look fantastic 🎉!!!! Thank you for another wonderful recipe. God bless you
Not a fan of meat-based cold cuts. Finally I can try a sub again. The impossible double cheeseburger was pretty good. I used too much black bean. I will use tofu next and less cream so that it will still be patties not pancakes. Thanks for the help Stache!
WOW! Just WOW! I’m so excited to try this!!!Thanks for sharing!
holy shizmoleyyyy!
oh fuq... water chestnut 😍
It's SUPER good!!! Thank you ahahah
Masterfully done
Well thank you!!!
That would make a nice breakfast with vegan cheese. It looks nice and appetizing, perfect
for a brunch platter. Thank you ☺ ☺
I tried your recipe and was surprised at how well the texture turned out. How do you get more flavor from the patties?
Looks fantastic!!!!
Thank you!!!
Am I missing a link to a written recipe? I am not seeing one and I sure would love to have one. Thanks!
I knew it! You have definitely taken charge. Rooting for you.🎉
My mom always washed mushrooms and dried them with a dishcloth before baking them. She wasn't a cooking wizard, but her mushrooms were perfect.
Looks yummy, I love chick peas.
I’m not a fan of chickpea flour (although I love chickpeas)? Can I sub the chickpea flour for an equal amt of additional gluten flour?
I still can’t believe how healthy and good Mark looks
Thank you so much!!
Great idea!! Looks simple too. Thanks for sharing!
PS: Water chestnuts aren't a new edition. It's put out there like it is. They are an ingredient in Subways patties too! 🙂
I love this recipe and have been making it almost weekly. Do you know of an easier way to get the mixture on the baking sheet? It is such a mess using my hands to flatten it out 🧐
Place on pan cover with plastic wrap pat out score an separate 🤗
Wonderful recipe! Thank you!
