28 Day Fire Challenge
Why would you go out in the cold and snow and sit around a fire? Cause it will make you smile, lower your blood pressure, reduce anxiety, and just help you .... CHILL. That's why I recommend a daily dose of sitting around the campfire and staring at the flames. It's good for the soul! Join me in my challenge- get out and start a fire today!
Then add good food cooked on the campfire.... and WOW! It just adds a whole other dimension to the experience. In this video, day 15 of my daily campfire challenge, I make tomato soup and grilled ham & cheese. AMAZING! Comfort food in the forest with my dog and a campfire. OH- and a little Mary Oliver poetry too!

Do you have some of your recipes posted anywhere? You mentioned making tomato basil soup on one video and somewhere else you had a photo of an beautiful apple pie or was it a tart? Well, anyway some of your recipes would be great to try.

I am really setting my taste buds for the tomato basil soup ( any soup for that matter at this time of year ) and the apple pie with the fold over crust . Thanks for your response. Your videos have crossed my path at a critical time in my life . I am a caregiver for an elderly friend who has dementia and most caregivers will attest that it can suck the life out of you. Only through trust in God and prayer for wisdom, strength and more of Hid love do we keep moving on. Finding your posts, listening and seeing the beauty that God created for us is helping me to refocus again and remember my own adventures with my wonderful dog and the thousands and thousands of miles we traveled.

Yes, yes dipping that campfire grilled ham, and cheese on perfectly toasted sourdough bread in tomato bisque ; in between sips of imported coffee from Italy is..Whaaat!? ..Perfection !! Yeah good!

Another wonderful video Brooke Great looking food and I agree on the italian coffee except I have mine with caffeine. I buy illy espresso beans and grind them fresh for each pot.

Tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches brings back wintry childhood memories..yum! . Tomato basil bisque , with grilled ham, (which was sauteed in butter?) Cheese sammit on toasted sourdough bread yet? Doubly yummy! Yeah good! You always et good Girl in the Woods!

I think it would be FaSciNaTinG to catch Brooke Fully caffeinated one time. Emagine her energy level! whoa! :o) I drink decaf too Dr's orders.... but did you know most decafs still have 40 percent as much caffeine as regular coffee. learned that in the ICU at the hospital where I was denied coffee for 3 weeks.

Been a long time since I've been camping. I'm 70 yrs old so not as agile as I use to be. Never ran across a bear though. Thank goodness.

Absolutely loved everything about this video. Just came in from camping with my grandson for the first time. We would have loved such a meal on our cold morning. What a great presentation! Thank you so much. Yesterday it was 80 degrees. This morning it was 37 degrees here in Central Texas.

Well I can't get out so I have a little, usually little desk fire and I think I gained 15lbs so far, she makes me hungry every morning and I never used to eat in the morning now I look forward to it!!! Then it knocks me out for 2 or 3 hours wake up feeling like a MILLION BUCKS!!! Thank You!!!

I think I am the only person on the planet who is allergic to coffee! I love me some tea, though! Being in the still and quiet woods when it snows instills the most amazing peace into one's soul.
