I named my cat after Fang, I got him as a 7 week old kitten. He had golden eyes and was a black and white cat with the black dipping down on his right eye, he died on February 14th 2024. Rest in peace Fang.

I feel like the lyrics just detract from the melodies. Especially with the descent into Engrish pronunciation on "awaits" to force it to rhyme with "light".
I just started playing this game again for the first time in about 9 years. I'm back on chapter 6 but Oerba village suddenly clicked in my memory because I listened to this tune over and over years ago. I had to look it up because the music in this game is just so beautiful.
I haven't played this game since it was released in 2010, but I came here to find this track. I remember going to sleep one night letting this play at a low volume with a beautiful scene on my tv. 👍
Such great ambience, 13 does NOT get nearly enough credit for its OST. Also love that the theme persists through combat in this area (I have the platinum for all 3 games FYI)
There’s a little flurry within a lot if the songs that persists throughout the game and really helps hammer home the themes It’s that little background bit at 2:15 and a couple other times in the track.
So painfully true. 13 wasn't my favorite of the series but it definitely created memories for me and this soundtrack was one of the reasons. So many songs remind me of life almost 14 years ago. Family members have since passed and things aren't nearly as hopeful as they were back then. Video game music is definitely an escape for me, decades worth of songs that take me back to better times.

@@130b.v.3 i always imagined the people of Oerba to live in unison with the Wildlife of Grand Pulse, Vanille always made the impression of a Beast-Tamer to me and Fang a fearless Battle-Maid that protects her people with her own life, Similar to Cocoon, i imagined the People being guided by Fal'cie-Priests of Grand Pulse that preached about the Demons that are residing in their Nest Cocoon, the harsh opposite picture of what the Priests of the Fal'cie of Cocoon are preaching about the Hell of Pulse, in the End they left their family and friends, cherished as Heroes, chosen by the Gods to lead the attack against their enemies... fullfilling their duty...resting in eternal crystal...
Yeah I was struck by how the music and art design really create this haunting, sombre atmosphere that is simply beautiful........ Then I was immediately reminded how badly written this game's story is, when the most reaction we get from Fang and Vanille to their home being an abandoned ruin populated by monsters that were presumably once people they knew is "All these houses are ours lol", and then it is just another zone you run through to get to a boss fight.
If your played this game you'll never forget that place their home is gone basically.....beauty is the poetry and feeling of this game. P s. It came out March 9th my birthday

@Tom Scheuer sazh is good untill Chapter 12 when hope gets Haste. Mediocre stats(without ultimate weapon), but he is a beast in the Cactuar cie’th stone mission cause he can get out of range tho. He does have a decent HP pool, but that’s about it. He suffers the same fate as hope unfortunately, not having -ga buffs as synergist really makes him fall off in the endgame
Me too!! Sometimes I switch Hope to Sazh or Fang to Sazh cuz he's my top Enhancer. But I manly like to use this team or at least try to always carry Hope with me cuz he's my best Medic.

not often that i form an emotional connection with a game but this game is one of them, truly a masterpiece
Seeing Cocoon from the sky in Pulse really catapulted my imagination. I found that to be so beautiful, sublime to look at this universe.
One of the best FF ganes hands down, the characters the music the story, no one will tell me this isn't a masterpiece
