Started a new playthrough two weeks ago (I can only really game on the weekend) and can confirm that even for an experienced player this is still very much the case. I've only made it to Chap 9 and I've already seen the Game Over Screen at least 8 times. Good thing there's a Retry option, lol.
@@UmDevoto I’m one of the few people who actually didn’t mind the linearity. I loved every second of this game and I’ve lost count on how many times I have replayed this game. It’s definitely one of my favourites. This game deserves so much more.
I'd love to see a new FF game build on this system. Ideally they need to somehow design it to have multiple playstyles a bit like how FF7R did, but much better. I really liked the paradigm shift and stagger system in this game though.
The single best thing about FFXIII is that they prevented you from overleveling and being too powerful at any point in the game by having certain boss fights expand the crystarium. It was genius and keeps it fun and forced you to get good at the paradigm shifts & game mechanics to win. The only spot you can overgrind some is grand pulse but who actually ever did that?
True, and Gran Pulse portion wasn't even mandatory, so if you skipped those Omen missions and just followed the story like I did in the first run, the latter battles were even more challenging.
@@emivita6934 Facts, I did too on my first playthru. However, you can only go so far i the missions since you're capped until you leave via Bartandelus 2 fight and the crystarium expands again. Actually, the missions you can do like up to Syphax the Undying are really fun and challenging instead of pushovers after postgame stats. I did this my second playthru while platinuming the game. I have like 50 files lol.
@@GlacierRain Absolutely agreed. You can farm items as much as you like and do fun fights at certain parts of the game without ever being overpowered. This balances the difficulty curve the best way possible. Every FF should use this method. Capping you until certain events and battles in the story.
I loved this game so much despite it's flaws. It was my first FF game ever, and lived how it played. Unfortunately my ps3 controller broke, so I can no longer play. 😢
FFXIII is fuckin dope. There's certainly gripes to be had about it, it wasn't the best FF but was definitely a decent game in it's own right. I think people joined a bandwagon of hate fr.
"Decent" is an understatement. The game is great. "Reviewers" didn't know what they were talking about. And yes, many people joined the bandwagon without actually give this game a chance.
I know this was a while ago, but I would advise being rid of the four parts before dealing with the main body. Solidarity helps with this as Fang can tank most of the damage while Hope heals her, allowing Lightning to deal with the four parts nearly unopposed. Also, thanks to her Gunblade, lightning can actually use the “Attack” command (you just need to select it yourself). After dealing with those, The Skytank will begin to use it’s cannon immediately, but will also be WAY easier to stagger, this is the time to go out on the offensive (unless healing is needed).
Well...one 4chan guy who apparently works at SE said that FF13 Remaster/Remake is currently in the work. Another thing they added is turning off random encounters. Sounds interesting lol. 4chan is very hit or miss with those rumors.
Aesthetic and music defo. Graphics still hold up and the lore is absolute peak. Storytelling was well...there was storytelling and the characters were mostly fine, besides Vanille, her Eidolon awakening just didn't make sense compared to the worse moments she had before.
@@VictoriaSteelmountain as of a week after posting the comments, someone DMed me on another platform and said "lightning as lead, snow and either sazh, hope or vanille" All someone should've said was "use snow as a meat shield" and i could've beaten him SOONER
The best thing about ff13 was the fact that you had to continuously plan 3 or 4 steps ahead during fights or you got Wreckd.
Yes

YES!

This song takes me back to the times when you were completing those time trials from the cieth stones. Such an amazing game.
Everybody can say whatever they want to this game but everybody that played this game until they introduced cieth stones...loved it.
The hunts are way too much fun and well introduced too, you finally feel like the game has finally open after 25+ hours of gameplay

Yup.
FFXIII "light" feel to everything sound and aesthetic wise is something else.. feels like FFX but without a giant whale slaughtering the population

that is something I will never tire of praising as someone who loves to engage in the combat system but does not want to overlevel my party.

Loved when this track started playing when Fang joins the party letting you to control her for the first time ❤
This reminds me so much of Mitsuda - Chrono Cross, Xenogears. Love it!
nice editing not having a fade out at the end
This is the only gem that I could take with me from Final Fantasy XIII.

Well, I guess you can ram your head into the skytank enough to destroy it eventually...😂😂💀💀
