Went ahead and ordered the race version of the BNF from Tiny Whoop. This is a great achievement and probably the biggest advancement in micro quads since the Inductrix came out. Well done to Carl, you, and Muki for driving this forward.
It's hard to take a quantified latency measurement and translate that to a meaning other than "It feels better". Like, "How does it help?" So here's how I think of it: Imagine you have your roll rate set to 720. You go for a snap roll. In the middle of that roll, how far out of sync is the image? At 100fps "other guy digital" with 32ms, that's 1/30 of a second, which is 24 degrees. If you spread out all your fingers evenly, that's about the difference between each finger's angle. HDZero even at 60fps because of the rolling transmission and tiny latency manages better than half that - keep in mind that on average, half the picture is at 2+8ms latency, a quarter is at 2+4ms, etc, so there's a real performance advantage we're not even discussing. At 60fps "other guy digital", that 52ms latency works out to well over 35 degrees. Make a "peace" "V" sign with your fingers, that's about the angle we're talking. HDZero gives an image MUCH closer to the reality of what the quad is doing. Bear in mind our brains can compensate for a little bit in terms of latency, but HDZero's latency is consistent too unlike "the other guy", and inconsistency is one thing our brains can't cope as well with.
Can't wait for the 1s to 2s board. I sure hope carl can pull it off. I would love to be able to put this in a 1s 3in toothpick. And not worry about frying an esc
The image quality gap between other digital systems and HDZero is increasing every year while HDZero is standing still. It's time for the next generation with more bandwidth and better compression.
Almost all of my old analog AIO FC's did break the same way: one ESC got toasted after some weeks of ripping. That's why I stopped getting them. Having that said, an HD AIO board seemed impossible, and it is very welcome. Kudos to the hd0 team.
Yesssssss! Got my pre-order in with the lux cam! Will probably order another after the first wave to not hog them, so I can have a couple whoops on deck to race! So awesome how Carl continues to do amazing thing after amazing thing! Thanks for the video Ryan!
Nice! Looking rather appealing even though I’m not yet in the HDZ ecosystem. One little nitpick- couldn’t they have saved some weight by getting rid of the USB connector in favor of a smaller 4-pin connector like a competitor recently implemented? I imagine about 0.5g could be saved.
Amazing, I had no idea something like this would have been possible when I pre-ordered my goggles. Many thank yous to All of you for making this a thing. ❤❤❤
5:50 Those hours are power-on time, not flight hours, right? 'Cause it's counted whenever the VTX is powered on. Of course, I'd expect that time to be pretty similar to the flight time, given that you can't have these on for very long before they overheat, but still important to note.
Yes!! I’ve been waiting for AIO HD whoop so we can do Drone Laser Tag with OSD! Know anyone who can help with the osd? I have the drone logic done for a previous gen external board.
I bought one of these boards but the #3 esc didn't work. While waiting for that to be replaced I purchased another one. The #2 esc didn't work on that one. Both have been replaced now. It took a month. I've started using one of them and it was working great for about 3-4 days until I crashed. It wasn't a bad crash at all but the vtx died as a result. I'm down to the last fc and I will install it this weekend. I really hope this one works but I'm feeling less than optimistic. I feel like I've wasted $200, frankly. I'm still a dedicated HDZero customer but this particular product needs work!
No specific video fo that, sorry. It is sort of simple though - transplant the parts from 65mm frame to 75mm frame and install larger props. Any specific questions though?
is that the vtx temperature in the top left hand corner? what setting do you need to change to get it displayed as a number in addition tot he indicator? I once asked in the hdzero discord and they said there was no readily available method to do that :/
Elrs over spi isn’t a big deal for me tbh I don’t update often and if there’s a major update I can imagine you guys will push for a betaflight update to include the new features 🤷🏻♂️
Finally, so When is the HDZero capable to deliver "Very Lowend" Goggle support, i expected Rp.500.000,- ready stock here in indonesia. Since now i fly Digital VR capable such lower cost, by today CellPhone with only 20fps on 360p. Hope to hear that sooner. Its good for digital starter on tinywhoop AIO Digital FC's would be bought after the very "Low end Goggle availability". Thank'S Ryan and Carl.
Looks like a ton of fun! Were you at Flight fest? If not you have a twin. Had a lot of help from some guys down there and appreciated it. If it was you thank you!
Great video! Look forward to getting one! In the meantime i need help with my HDZERO Mob6 Eco-- please!!!. In mid flight I lost VTX signal with all 4 antennas! It just got all staticy (as it does) and then went black😭😭😭 It never connected again. I changed antenna on the HDZERO board but still nothing. Please tell me there is an easy fix. I love that thing! It's been 4+ months of bliss! Now I'm tiny whoopless and life has list all meaning. Thanks.

How about a H7 20x20 FC with built in dual ELRS optimized for low profile stacking with race v3?
@@RyanQuelletthis, but without that fragile mipi and you’ve got me.

was there some kind of compression in the capture or something that is causing all that artifacting? reminds me of a dying analog VTX
