For low light flying, there is a camera sensor gain setting to adjust - it should be as good as Nano v3 camera. Edit - set gain to 10 and you'll get almost color night vision! Search my channel for "Hidden Lux Cam Features" for more details. Nice review!
This feels just like playing video games in junior high and high school - “Just one more game…” (five games later). Only now, it’s “Just one less gram, just a slightly sharper image.” 😆 5 grams and 8K resolution - that’s where I’m drawing the line! 😆
Well, it’s already possible, just not easy. I built an aio5 build today that weighs 17.990g, and just by swapping the motors, motor wires, and canopy should be around 16.8g. Add on a few crazier mods like shortening the motor shaft and it should be able to get below 16.5
That slightly high battery draw is a bit of a bummer, but I suppose it was to be expected. It's an amazing piece of tech when it really comes down to it and I'm keen on trying it out. Great review JB, really informative and well put together 👍
yes, great accomplishment, I can well imagine it's 14 layers after my experience with trying to get osd+elrs gemini+vtx on a same board, especially with all the FC and ESC circuits too.
I'm excited about this one specially with the lux camera, just not a big fan of that canopy, looks kind cool but I'll break so easily. By the way you got a loose motor wire :) 08:38
Apparently that canopy is a prototype and HappyModel are working on a finalized design for the retail version, which I think is slated for release very soon. Time will tell I guess.
I have no experience with Tinywhoops. So I have several questions about exclusively indoors flying: 1) would you recommend the newly released 5 in 1 AIO based Betafpv Air65 or meteor75 pro like whoop for indoors flying? 2) should I expect a dramatically better video quality from hdzero compared to analog for indoors (not plenty of light) flying with tinywhoop? 3) is the increased weight and decreased maneurability of hdzero based tinywhoop justified/compensated by increased video quality and (possibly) decreased latency over analog ones? 3) does it make sense to put increased weight hdzero Lux camera because of its significantly better video quality? Or lighter hdzero Eco camera gives the same quality taking into account simplified interface which is used on hdzero tinywhoop AIO module? Will be gratefull to hear your and your subscribers' opinions. Thanks in advance
I was maybe going to buy and build your xilo analog fpv drone from get fpv but do you think it is outdated or are the parts still good for 2024 standards
It really is a marvel of engineering to get all of that onto one board. It's a shame about the SPI RX, but there is zero chance of fitting another MCU on that thing and the ~19.5g stock weight really makes it fly sweet. The Lux camera looks great too. I think HappyModel only sent me one because they think I am going to keep updating Betaflight (FLRC modes are in 4.6!) 😆
Wait are you saying we can get F1000 on SPI with BF4.6?? That would be really great! To me thats the only downside of SPI. Edit: Checked the github and answered myself. Yes it does! Altough because of CPU restraints one will probably have to run F500 on 411s.

And with the HDZero Goggles u can have hdz, walksnail and analog at the same time installed (heavy but doable) 😂 They are the best analog Goggles u can get right now. And they have good customer service. 10/10 I would rather pay a bit more for inovation than the same price since the beginning for stagnation (looking at u fatshark). They inovate and try to make interesting products.
I've flown a lot of analog and hdzero whoops. With MW set to 25 or 200 on both there is absolutely no comparison to videos quality between the two systems. HDZ is far better and with a lot better range also (especially on the tiny whoop sized drones). I get massive break-up when flying my 65mm analog whoop from my basement to the upstairs part of my house. With my HDZ whoop at 25mw I can fly all over the inside of my house with no break-up and a lot better video quality also. 👍
A big part of the advantage is the link behavior; no more static, color shifting, or rolling. The aio5 is only a 2g penalty over the betafpv air 5 in 1, so there will be a penalty in performance but it’s not huge. For everyone but the top racers it’s pretty easy to build to a weight that is enjoyable to fly with great flight time. Also the gain is adjustable and apparently the lux should be pretty good in low light. The video quality is a bigger difference than it looks on a lot of the comparison videos. Price is definitely a lot higher, but both analog and hdz have their applications and audience

Drone technology is changing two rapidly. People who are not completely insane enthusiasts can't keep up. In my humble opinion it's driving some people away from the hobby. Me included. My equipment is all analog and I really have no desire to switch to digital. Don't get me wrong I love technology but in this case it's hurting the hobby. Take Express LRS for example why should I have to switch all my equipment out from crossfire. These days any quad I buy I also have to buy my crossfire receiver. Which is just adding more cost. The final Factor is remote ID. That's a big deal breaker for me and that's why I don't fly anymore. I have 15 quads that are now paperweights.
You ... don't have to switch. You can just keep using whatever you want. You can keep flying your Crossfire analog quads. Nobody is forcing you to switch.

Whens the walksnail whoop aio coming? There all so heavy now.
I do think it's quite amazing..
Looks like analog. WS or DJ. Imi not going back to SD with constant noise. Kudos on the eng effort though.
im out of excuses for flying analog now
Digital under 20 grams!!!
All quality arguments in favor of DJI/WalkS are not relevant at this specific point!
just 1 blown mosfet and 99$ board gone!
That's the sacrifice made to reach that threshold
Time to learn microsoldering
@@Voyajer. just repaired a happymodel board
had to solder a 0201 capacitor
i accidentally pushed it off and that broke the video signal trace to the osd chip
it took a long time and i only got it done after it tombstoned and i added a bit of wire to the other pad
Lost my first board for 1 mosfet failure 😢
This just doesn't seem worth, you are blowing through batteries just cruising and the picture isn't much better than analog.
It's perfect for a 75mm. I prefer 17g 65mm whoops. That's a big factor I think. The picture is significantly better than analog, but it doesn't bother me if you think otherwise. Just like the eco vtx was a precursor to this aio, this aio will lead to version 2 and 3 etc. They will be more refined and lighter
You've obviously never used hdzero, its miles better than analog.
The picture you see in the goggles is much better than analog - especially considering the colors and image stability. Kinda have to see it for yourself if you know somebody with the HDzero goggles, or you could go to your local racing chapter to see for yourself if someone there has them
HDZero only have HD in his name :)) Almost like analog 👎🏻
Tf do you mean your quads are paperweights? They don't just fall out of the sky once a new thing releases you know?
Lol u dont need all new equip just because there is elrs 😂
Just get a cheap module for your radio and thats it... if u want to fly micros....
Also why are your 15 quads now paper weights. Just keep flying what u want. Maybe build a sub 250g analog drone and dont worry about that tracking bs?
Sorry but u are just nagging about nothing.
New tech is optional - you can continue flying your existing stuff if you prefer
@@galardo3303 Remote ID is the main reason why I stopped flying. Maybe it's nothing to you but that's your opinion mine is different. We can agree to disagree
