The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. In this new electrically-charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar. All that is missing is his love - Christine Daaé. Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. So, it is with excitement she accepts an invitation to travel to New York and perform at a renowned opera house. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan; to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island… not knowing what is in store for them…

Erik is a gentleman deep down but it only really seems to show up when he’s with Christine which is probably because she is really the only person who has really ever shown him kindness and happiness so he’ll do anything to help her and keep her safe. I love how after she faints he immediately rushes to her side and gently carries and lays her down on the chair as if she is a fragile porcelain doll. Erik and Christine are such an amazing couple too bad Christine dies at the end.

YES! He just has as a presence. He showed up in the doorway and it was just a WOWZERS moment. The power of his voice...can't blame her swooning and she did an excellent show portraying rage, a sense of being betrayed and longing all at once.

As angry as she is with him for leaving her, she is still very much in love with him but she cant let herself show it, as he deserves a tongue lashing for leaving her, so ‘fainting’ was her way of giving into that desire to be close to him for a moment, as she knew he’d pick her up. 😉
That’s kinda my head canon as I’m not a huge fan of the overly dramatic faint LOL

But the music is great and the art direction/staging was gorgeous live. Everyone jumped when Phantom makes his entrance. That music cue is LOUD live.
