Thank you so much for this video! I've been looking everywhere for a way to get my media server running at startup and everyone keeps telling me to get a bunch of questionable programs just for one simple task. I'm glad I found this video before I got a PC virus!
Thanks a lot for this information. I developed the need to start-up a marked-up calendar on my Windows PC and this tutorial solved my problem big time. I was so afraid that I was not going to be able to open my calendar at start-up but, I decided to search one more time and here you were.
Thanks bro! I came to see how I could make a program run on startup but you also answered another question i had about windows I was wondering how I could stop other programs from running on startup, thanks!
This was very informative!! For one of my projects I was searching this and your video was first in suggestion and saved a lot of time!! Keep up the good work bro!✌✌
Had issue with Corsair fans being set to aio heat and ramping up, had to set them to gfx card but it required me to use evga precision which wouldnt auto on startup, this saves me forgetting, thanks a bunch
There are many type of startup: file location and registry. The autoshell one is overshadowed for this reason. I hate when they scatter program in different startup function. What if the software that cause problem is not show in Task Managers but in autoshell. In the startup tab, right click on the table and select "startup type". That would have been useful from the start!
I've added Chrome to the list of startup programs [as per your instructions] [and Chrome appears in that list when I open TaskMaster and display startup] but the program does not run on startup. Help. Thanks
You must not copy-paste chrome, you must copy the icon/chrome.exe, and then right click inside the folder startup and THEN in there press "create/paste shortcut" which is a bit lower than average "paste".
I will be comment 100 and I will use this comment to THANK YOU for doing this video in this manor. Straight to the point. Thank you! I have a Corsair mouse, Dark core RGB Pro, and it likes to light up even when the computer is off which is VERY annoying. And then when I sit down to actually power on and use my computer the mouse doesn't go to the color scheme I set it to and continues on with the 'demo' mode. So by using this feature you showed me to open iCUE upon startup it will automatically go to my color scheme now. Stupid mouse.
This is a reminder for anybody else that = You must not copy-paste the entire program you wish to start on startup, you must copy the icon/.exe, and THEN right click inside the folder startup and THEN in there press "create/paste shortcut" which is a bit lower than average "paste".
Every time I start my WIN 10 laptop, You Tube starts and loads the last video I watched. You Tube is not in the startup folder. I also checked Task manager startup. This will happen with Chrome, Firefox and Edge. I checked YT options as well. WIN 10 is up to date with patched. I also wiped the hard drive and brought my laptop to its initial factory settings. Any suggestions?
You can use the "WIN key+R" to run. shell:startup and copy paste above text and enter for below path. C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
bc Windows cannot measure its impact, due to different causes, the most frequent is that the app has as slow cpu consumption that Windows cant even recognize as a process.
