Quick note to get rid of "TO GO" silverware that restaurants INSIST on sticking down in your bags even though you ask them NOT TO. I take them to my work and leave them in the break room where they get used. This keeps me from feeling like I'm being wasteful and gets them OUT of my house.

She is what Cass from clutterbug calls a ladybug. She has clean surfaces and is messy behind the doors. Open bins she can toss and walk away is a great thing for her. She probably doesn't mind digging to look for what she needs in a bin. But doesn't want to take the time to put it in a detailed place. Also, clear containers are excellent for her. She is an out of site out of mind person. My husband is a ladybug, so I have experience.

I donated tons of plastic forks etc from restaurants to our hot meal charity. They often give folks items to take home and use the spare plasticware for them. Also many of us would take restaurant plastic ware to work where we filled a large drawer. Saved work on not having to buy as much supplies. Fun project! Feel free to stop by house any time! ❤

Just to add a different POV, I would hate spice risers. I found the perfect solution for me: a shallow shelf that hangs on the wall in the kitchen. It is just deep enough for 2 spice bottles and wide enough on top for my larger Sam's club size spices. I have a system and always put them back in the same spot. It is the one area of my life where I am organized! The only problem is when my husband puts them away 🤦‍♀️

    • @juanitaglenn9042

I use about 15 spices regularily, and I buy in bulk so it's cheaper. I do the 'unthinkable! And store them on the back of my oven in large Tupperware spice containers. I go through them quickly enough I don't worry about it too much. Any extras(.and there are lots) get stuffed in small bins I have in my upper cupboard along with the extracts and water enhancers and numerous sweeteners, etc. I have an exceptionally large stock of all this, as my daughter is allergic to sugar....all sugar....so we flavor everything so it's not boring and she can experience say, the flavor of peaches from the extract, and sweet with stevia leaf.

....I do not like spice risers, never used them. I use turntables, after several experiments with organizing them. ( I am a former professional organizer / housekeeper but you still have to experiment and see what works for you best, with ones own " Organization Style "LOL) I have them stored on a shelf that's wide enough to sit on securely and are on the turntables in such a way that it's easy to see what I need, and put back in the same spot every time.

They are so needed along with the toothbrush and paste I get for free at the dentist. No waste and it blesses some one else. Donate them if all else fails.

We close on our new house tomorrow and are moving this week 😁 have one of the bag organizers and extendable bamboo organizers for drawers ready to order. But I tell people my secret all of the time: declutter FIRST, then organize what’s left. I can’t even begin to count how many times I’ve tried to organize first and buy all the pretty bins and containers for it to not work for my space. Declutter, measure your space and then go find what you need ☺️

I have a new friend party idea after watching this it is so much more fun with a buddy. Helping each other organize is the way to go and I love that you scheduled the time to do this because it makes such a huge difference. I don't suppose you can advise me on how to organize my open shelves pantry. We use one of those Costco wire racks and it's chaos the shelves are huge.

Love this! Great job! I struggle with organizing things. I love how you put the vitamins and spices in same cabinet. I am going to incorporate this! Thanks for sharing!

I seen corner, tier shelves for spices or oils etc.
So that's another idea for corners.
I do a spice drawer. And I love it. I have a small kitchen and my drawers are filled but organized to my liking.

This was such a fun and informative video. I have many of the organization tools that you showed, and with multiple kids a great way to keep maintenance of the organization are to use labels (this helps train me and my family without constantly thinking. Also, one weekly quick 5-15 min keeps pantry and drawers from sliding back to chaos.

I should have been working in my own kitchen, but I was fascinated to watch the changes happen. I couldn't turn it off! Very helpful 😃
