I collected the Australian set as a kid and still have them in storage back in my hometown. I think I had almost every card except for those awesome 3D pop-out ones. edit: it was the Dynamic line, not Topps iirc. Though they had a similar format.
Very cool! I did a video on those exact cards many years ago ruclips.net/video/NsCLy6LIUEI/видео.htmlsi=gUDg4dfer0Vw9L7T. It's a brilliant set and I still own them to this day!
Congratulations for your well made video! I'm from Greece and I also loved the art of the cards as a kid, therefore I did the right thing and I purchased the topps book once if was available as a pre-order. While I like it, I also hopped for the paper and print quality to be better. As well as in a larger scale. It's still a great book for any JP enthusiast never the less.
That's a great idea having it in a larger scale - I think I expected a larger format book too! Thanks so much for your kind words. I hoped the book would cover all the scarce variants so I could use it as a checklist for cards I hadn't yet found! But it still covered quite a few bonus cards.
Thanks mate for sharing your collections for us to In joy , I remember having some some of those cards when I was a child but I never knew they existed in different versions, thanks again for sharing cheers mate
You are most welcome! To be fair I didn't know all of these existed but it's been a blast collecting them all. Thanks for tuning in and your kind words!
Thanks for tuning in TD3000!! I would love to honestly, but I've had to focus/whittle down to JP-era over the years as much as I can. My most valued collectables are the things that bring back memories of those early years and things that come from filming/production. So I've made a concerted effort to focus on this period. But if space/funds were limitless I would seek them out as you have!
Oh you're missing out on some really top quailty rare cards that celebrate Jurassic Park! I'll post a video in the coming week to show you, it's not all Jurassic World ; P @@JurassicCollectables
I did collect these as a kid, I always loved the quality of them and the images. Wasn't easy to find high res images to study as a 90s kid. I think I managed to collect a "full" set, I completed the puzzle at least. As it became the improvised mural wall of my ambitious poster board visitors center back then xD Don't recall getting anything other than series one in the Netherlands though. Having doubles laying around all over the room was also very recognisable.😂
Yeah they were like pieces of treasure you'd rediscover in cupboards or drawers! The resolution/sharp quality of these cards is still impressive today. I think they must have done some sort of photographic process/shrinking to ensure the detail was crisp. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your story!!
Do you have any further info on the logo/summer 1993 promo card? I’ve never seen that one before nor listed anywhere! I’ve been scrabbling through my albums today on account of this video! Seem to be 3 promo cards short (and the over sized one too).
The card came up randomly a couple years back on eBay and I nearly missed it! These chase cards you have to make a saved listing and keep your eyes peeled. If I get a spare, I will keep it for you
The oversized one I believe is on eBay US at the moment, if you do a quick search for Jurassic Park insert or chase cards. Postage would need to be arranged with the seller however. Good luck with your search Stuffennonsense!
I'm also searching for that black logo card that says Summer 1993. I'd love to know where it came from. It says Topps Comics on the back side, so it's a promo for the comic book series.
@@TavisKingsChannel some of these I think were given out at promotional events/comic book shows because that one feels like flyer in card form. But it may have been bundled with a comic like the Ray Bradbury jeep card. If I spot where it's from I will comment here
Somehow as a kid I was lucky and got almost a full set of series 3 cards, and I still have the whole binder! Along with all of the cards I got with the Kenner toys including dr snare and the trex
Lol, i could have sworn i had a Jurassic Park set till i just looked now to see which one i had. I dont have it! Thats so weird, all the cards look so familiar, i must have been researching it to pick it up arond 15 years ago when i was buying a lot of card sets😂 now ill have to look back into picking one up. Plus i really want that book!
Thanks for tuning in! Mostly eBay or trades with fellow collectors over the years! As I spot new cards I'll try and pick them up. These aren't hugely expensive - probably the most expensive things are sealed boxes or the limited edition cards
I have a question about the first set of Jurassic Park 1993 Topps cards specifically the four hologram cards. I have the silver ones, although mine must be misprints. The hatching velociraptor and the tyrannosaurus cards both say 3 of 4 on the back, and the three velociraptors and the dilophosaurus cards both say 4 of 4. They also say 1992 on the front and 1993 on the back. I'm curious to know if you've seen any of these misprint cards out there and if your cards also say 1992 on the front and 93 on the back. Thanks!🦖❤️
Hi there! I do remember noticing that mismatch with the backs - good spot. It may be a variation but I expect it is an error in attaching the backings. I'll investigate. I'll have a look at the 92/93 dates too 👍
@@dustoff_9742 I've had a look after making this video and I haven't seen one for sale yet. There were a few glitter cards released in the 75th anniversary lines, but Jurassic seems to be scarce
@@dustoff_9742 There is one more glitter foil of a chase card - I believe the triceratops too. I wasnt aware of this card until a fellow collector shared an image. So that's another one to look out for!
Ok... so maybe someone on here will know. The movie adaptation comics series that came with cards numbered 1-9. Does anybody know what #3 looks like. I see so often there's a raptor landscape view card put in with this set, but it doesn't match, and the number on the back isn't 3/9, but instead 2/9. Also, does anybody know anything about this mysterious set? All I ever see out there is 2/9, never any of the rest that would go with it... where's the rest?
The numbering on the chase cards is off - I've noticed this too. All I can be certain of is that there were nine of them, and I believe when I counted them all there is nine total. But I'd have to confirm by checking my set
@@JurassicCollectables Right, but does that movie picture raptor one that has the same background frame as the pre-release (1992) cards belong in the Movie Adaptation comic pre-release set, or does it go with something elese? The card says 2/9 on the back, but there's already a 2/9 for the Movie Adaptation Comic set, and I can't for the life of me find a 3/9 for the Movie Adaptation comic set either... It's like there's 8 missing cards that go with the JP movie raptor card, and a missing 3/9 for the Movie Adaptation Comics cards... it's so weird.
@@memeerson2901 okay so you are talking about the Raptor card marked as #0 - with the same motif along the bottom. I firmly believe this is is the missing card that makes 9 altogether. Then the rest are mis numbered/or that Raptor card was meant to be reprinted as #3 but never was.
