It took a year for the home release for Jurassic Park

How times have changed
I never realised how much nostalgia I have for that old black and red style of JP merchandise. :p I didn't even know they made stickers for the first film, I only ever saw the cards (which were amazing!!!)
The display looks fantastic!
I saw a book in Asda the other day. 'Jurassic Park: The Ultimate Visual History' Looked a bit on the pricey side for its size, but thought you might be interested.
Also, the company that makes Warhammer do a pretty good paint on gloss varnish if you want to paint your T.rex banner. I'd water it down a bit and see how many coats you need. Applying varnish too thick can affect the colour underneath.
Ah wonderful thanks for the Warhammer tip I will genuinely give that a test. Yes that book is really good I highly recommend it - it's in the video with the comic book storage! Thanks so much for tuning in. Yeah the Topps stickers were harder to find but I remember the sticker book being in the shops. So much nostalgia in that section 🙂

WONDERFUL! It's not only the amazing pieces you've got, it's the careful and considered thought put into displaying them. You take an already incredible object, and make it shine way brighter. That's true conservation, JC! Goes beyond collector and into proper conservator-restorer level! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 This is why you're the best!

Ah I would too! I have lots of things I don't have room to display, I used to have a shelf for those. But as Jurassic Park was my inspiration growing up and the namesake of the channel I had to keep on topic for this display unit. Thanks for tuning in

Beautiful collection, only thing i would change is maybe remove the 'when dinosaurs ruled the earth" banner on the first T-Rex statue, i think it would look better without it or hang it above the trex / move it elsewhere

what kind of protective bags for stuff are you using?
I actually use florists cellophane as it's cheaper and you can get it on rolls. A good tip 👍

Thank you!! There are a few on the top but I admit many are in storage. The Red Rex used to be visible but here it's tucked behind the Dr Collector number plate
That’s a fantastic idea for the front wheels of the Explorer. It’s frustrating Iron Studios used the same plans from the crushed 04 for the wheel areas on the 05, hence the front being crushed down too. Bit of cost saving there I think 😢

Ah is that why!! Makes more sense. I thought perhaps the molding had caused slight curvature end to end
@@JurassicCollectables I think they started sculpting the look of the base of the upside down 04, complete with rear wheels sitting higher in the air due to the leaf springs on the real car, then thought "Let's just use this for the final 05 too." Annoying because the various prototypes didn't have this issue. I'm not brave enough to modify it either!

Ah thanks for tuning in. I absolutely adore them to be honest. If I had the space to accommodate some of their larger pieces I would - do you have the Spino with the partial aircraft? I'm fairly fussy on likenesses of the Dinosaurs and/or humans so there's some I would prefer over others

Also you should totally get the Folio Society Edition of Jurassic Park! Beautiful book with great illustrations and worth the rather expensive pricetag in my opinion.

Yes this was a 3D printed piece from a seller on Ebay. Usually they come in 1:12 scale but if you ask sellers will print in 1:10 scale if you want it spot on

Thanks for watching and your comment! These have been collected from around 2009 onwards so it's mainly down to the length of time collecting. You can find them for sale at auctions from time to time (sites like Propstore, Juliens now) and the prices were much lower a decade ago. That said I feel very fortunate to look after them and hopefully displaying them on the channel means others can enjoy them too 👍. Thanks again for tuning in

The Muldoon statue isn't movie accurate. Robert did go out trying to get a shot off on the big Raptor.
Also looking at getting a production made raptor egg made by rob hinderstein at Stan Winston studios, I've seen so many different types of the incubator raptor eggs some hollow resin, some thicker resin and some foam, some are bluey grey and some are greens and browns any clues as to what was actually used in the filming or what was just production made?
I completely understand your problem! The problem is castings of the egg have been out there for years so it's really hard to know conclusively. The most concrete evidence for screen-use would be screen matches - a number of distinct identifiable details that appear in the film and on the prop. You'd likely want paint job matches as the eggs were from the same molds. Next in line is provenance - IE getting the piece from someone involved in the film, but even then that doesn't mean it was used in the making of the film. I know a number of eggs were made for the film - I have a resin production made egg, I can only identify mine because the casting is so crisp (probably from original molds) compared to my Icons replica (also cast off screen used). Mine wasn't used because it was cast heavy on one side - so this indicates the roto-cast process of making the eggs wasn't perfect - and this explains some being thick, some thin. I know they also made plaster eggs that would break and hatch but this was mainly for use with the baby puppet. But screen matches are the most conclusive way. Always do your research and ask many questions about the origins of your props. Best of luck and do share a picture of your display when you are done!

What scale do I print your goggle files at for the Konica mechanism to fit? It’s only like 10mm at 100% when I bring it into Cura

Great to hear! Mainly online auctions or trades with collectors. Propstore, Heritage, Juliens, Icons of Pop Culture are some auctioneers now that offer items from the film. Some I purchased via eBay but this happens less frequently now. Good luck on your quest!!
Where did you find the gun for the Clever Girl Statue?
They are sold on eBay if you have a look for 3D printed 1:10 franchi spas. Really an essential part of Muldoon in that scene!

It's a souvenir costume hat from Universal Studios & didn't cost very much at all! But it displays really nicely up there. This one was found on eBay for not very much!
If I were kidnapped and imprisoned in a room without any explanation for years and years, Oldboy-style, and it was this room... I'd gladly accept my fate!

Omg where did you get the ford from?
The Ford explorer is made by Iron Studios - it came as a larger set originally but then they sold 04 and 05 on their own without the rain droplets on the windows. You can find them on the secondary market (ebay mainly) from time to time!

that spielberg autograph is so sloppy... are you sure it is original? looks different from a real one.
That one is PSA/DNA authenticated. Apparently in autograph circles it's as close as you can get to signing himself - I did a bit of research before diving in. But I'd still love to get something signed in person one day! Thanks for tuning in
