Treating the dinosaurs like animals and not monsters (or domesticated raptors) is one of many reasons the new films don't hold a candle to the original. That and Phil Tippet's animation direction to make them believable
Not that I have a problem with that but I kinda miss how dinosaurs actually used to be terrifying. Everything they made in all of Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic world, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World Dominion and Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous ARE BOTH AWESOME
The thing I liked about the original Jurassic Park was that it felt like real life. It felt as if it could actually happen the way it played out. The near misses and stunts seemed believable. The story line was relatively simple and believable. It had a more gradually building, sci-fi feel to it. I think as the franchise went on that got more and more lost in the films. They became more about the action and CGI than anything else. One thing I cant stand is when a movie just becomes all about showing off CGI skills... Like we get it, computers are awesome..
This is my all-time favorite film and I've been in love with it ever since I was 5 years old. I bet they didn't know it at the time but they were making a cultural icon and a cinematic masterpiece, and they hit every note.
Sydney Australia. October 1993. It was a beautiful warm night and I went into the George street cinemas to see Jurassic park. The cinema was all dressed up like a zoo and it was showing Jurassic 24 hours a day. Sydney had just won the right to host the 2000 olympics. It was a magical time. Lots of hope for the future.
I still remember the moment I saw the first tv spot for JP & just caught a glimpse of the t-rex chasing the jeep. It was gone in a blink of an eye but it stunned me & that image burned itself into my memory. I had just seen a real dinosaur for the first time.
Love this movie. Saw it in the theater when I was 16 with my mom's friend and her kids, the are and my mom is Japanese. I was jumping at every turn. The kids were 11 and 8, were smiling and the look of excitement was uncanny. I whispered to my dad these kids are sociopaths, there are people dying. He said the come from a country where gozilla eats tokyo annually, dinosaurs don't scare them. 😅🤣😂
I feel kinda bad for the guys that where doing the stop motion. They did all the work, and they went the cgi route. Whatever is best for the film I guess, but now we have this masterpiece that will live on forever and that’s what’s most important isn’t it? ☺️
Phil Tippett still contributed a lot to the production, it was actually a clever idea to keep him even when it was decided to go for CGI . His insight on animation served the people who had no idea how to make a dinosaur move digitally. I am certain that he was aware of it and never felt robbed of his work.
Also, they developed a stop motion digital framework that allowed Phil and his crew to assist in animating the dinos that was then used by the cgi crew to drape the dinos onto. It is in the Academy Museum in Hollywood (the one for the Oscars).
The way some movies from your childhood inspire and impact and influence the rest of your life. This movie is never leaving my brain and thank god for that, what a classic.
I love seeing a director like him work. He perfectly comunicates the shot and blocking. There are some notorious directors that... don't direct. There are some that over direct. Speilberg seems to fall right in the place of has a vision but creates a space for actors to work.
Jurassic Park and The Lost World are masterpeices and a perfect duology! The recent films however have been complete disasters (except maybe Fallen Kingdom) and have humiliated the T-Rex as its mascot!
In August 1992, my Mother was 7 months pregnant with me, a future Dinosaur lover who’s lord for dinosaurs began with this movie. Could you imagine the film you’re currently filming is going to have a profound impact on a human being who was developing at the exact same time? I didn’t even see this movie until I was like 5 or 6.

Jurassic park is such an underrated movie. Possibly one of the best movies ever. It definetely stands high among it's sequels
underrated? By who?
@@migalorsdarwin1930 by pretentious, wannabe movie critics. This movie is a timeless classic. I’ve seen people nitpick it here and there and I just roll my eyes at their stupidity lol.
It's not underrated. Underrated is a dumb word. Act normal please.
@@sandervw123 You're right. "Underrated" is the most overused word on RUclips. It's almost always wrong, like for an Academy Award-winning actress. A billion-dollar movie underrated? No. Awards? It has 44 wins including 3 Oscars and 27 more nominations in other contests. Who's underrating it? The trolls or bots or idiots who post "underrated" never say. Siskel and Ebert despite their criticism and saying it's too intense for little kids gave it 👍👍.
Ganz toller Film.....kann man sich immerwieder anschauen😊❤
Everything they made in all of Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic world, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World Dominion and Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous ARE BOTH AWESOME
pfff
@@elizabeth1703 let's not be sour Eliz
Yeah No only JP and TLW where made with passion, rest are rushed uninspired cashgrabs.
As a kid, this was my first cinema film and it's never lost its impact on me!
No matter how many Movies and sequels any production make, Jurassic Park will always be the #1
favorite movie of all time always🦖
This is my all-time favorite film and I've been in love with it ever since I was 5 years old. I bet they didn't know it at the time but they were making a cultural icon and a cinematic masterpiece, and they hit every note.
I'm a week too late but really enjoying this! So much nostalgia!
Years from now Spielberg will still be known as one of the greatest directors in history.
They'll never be another film like Jurassic Park. I remember crying terror when the TRex appeared and my dad was in awe and didn't notice! Lol
La mejor película de la historia
I'm so blessed to be able to see this as a child in the theaters. So EPIC.
Rest In Peace to Richard Attenborough (John Hammond) and Bob Peck (Robert Muldoon)
You will forever be missed.
This movie has aged well. Even the animatronics have aged like wine.
2023 will mark the 30th Anniversary of this magnificent movie 🎥.
I still remember the moment I saw the first tv spot for JP & just caught a glimpse of the t-rex chasing the jeep. It was gone in a blink of an eye but it stunned me & that image burned itself into my memory. I had just seen a real dinosaur for the first time.
Un véritable chef d’œuvre qui m’a fait rêver quand j’étais enfant 🤩 Merci Mr Spielberg 🙏🏻
The current series won't ever live up to JP1. However, I would love to see a prequel to JP1.
Utterly genius storytelling. X
Jurassic Park💙💙💙
The way some movies from your childhood inspire and impact and influence the rest of your life. This movie is never leaving my brain and thank god for that, what a classic.
this bonus material is better then the new film
I'm so floored by the fact that Spielberg didn't learn anything from Jaws about how animatronics and water.
2:42
And that's why the World sequels fall flat.
The best Dino movie ever made and it will never be duplicated.
Even then you can see kathleen kennedy plotting to take credit for everything...
8:49 I like how he mentions King Kong.
This is equivalent to Tom Cruise or Kevin Kostner or... Sam Neil. Loved that moment!
Steven Spielberg made my childhood❤
Very informative
I love seeing a director like him work. He perfectly comunicates the shot and blocking. There are some notorious directors that... don't direct. There are some that over direct. Speilberg seems to fall right in the place of has a vision but creates a space for actors to work.
*Jurassic Park* is a classic.
Its a movie I can watch multiple times and still love it.
Jurassic Park and The Lost World are masterpeices and a perfect duology! The recent films however have been complete disasters (except maybe Fallen Kingdom) and have humiliated the T-Rex as its mascot!
JP3 was the last decent one, JW was simply nostalgic bait of a trilogy and turned the movies into action movies
