2 x 200g (7 oz) packets pre-cooked udon noodles 1 tsp sesame oil 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 heaped cups sliced cabbage ½ tsp sugar, plus ½ tsp extra ½ tbsp soy sauce, plus 1½ tbsp extra 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped 200g peeled and deveined prawns ½ tsp chilli flakes 3 tbsp oyster sauce ½ cup finely sliced spring onion
I have made this dish a dozen times now. I add Thai chili and cilantro and it totally elevates it! Thank you so much for posting this recipe. It’s a hit!
What a wonderful inspiration you are! I’m a Brit living in NYC with my Japanese husband for 43 years! We live right near China town, access to incredible Asian supplies!! Im totally addicted to cooking Thai dishes, and enjoying delicious Japanese cuisine that my husband lovingly serves! China Town is my playground! Thanks for your fabulous site!
I’ve made this with prawns, chicken and a tender cut of beef with thick hokkien noodles and it just keeps getting better and tastier! My family love it!!
Marion, it's not just that you put together ingredients that make a delicious meal, your food is utterly beautiful to look at, and it's not some trick of photography; I think it's the gusto and enthusiasm you bring to everything you cook. I'm always eating with my eyes when I visit with you. Thanks for keeping us company during these trying times!
Yum all my favourites - prawns, garlic and noodles can’t go wrong 🤤 This is being added to my weeknight meal plan for those nights when I’d prefer not to cook dinner.
So so delicious!!! I HIGHLY recommend you make it! It tastes like something from a restaurant but much healthier. Thank you so much for this magnificent recipe❤️
So tonight I wanted to cook something noodley, but not Italian. Found this recipe for Garlic Shrimp Udon. The only changes I made were these: instead of fresh, I used Yokogiri Udon noodles (about 8oz.), cooked to package directions, AND I used a bagged Southwest Chopped Salad Kit instead of the cabbage the recipe calls for. IT WAS SO GOOD, because a) I didn't have to chop anything, and b) it has lots of other vegies in it. The cilantro and green onion were great. Any bagged cabbage salad would work. Just reserve the dressing and crunchy stuff for another time. Thanks to Marion for a tasty meal! I can tell it just became a favorite! YOU can do this!
I just made them for lunch. This is incredibly delicious. My partner said it tastes like from a professional cook at the restaurant.🤤 Thank you so much for this recepies. ❤
My husband and I made this as a collaborative effort, followed the recipe and it turned out PERFECT! Thanks Marion for another great recipe to add to our recipe notebook.
Marion's Kitchen is by far the best cooking channels on youtube. She has such a soothing voice, is super passionate, and cooks delicious food. I made these noodles for my boyfriend today and he smiled so big and told me they were amazing. Thank you, Marion! :D
I love how you teach us how easy it can be to cook such great dishes. When you think you can only go out to eat these Asian dishes. Thank you for such happy videos and your smiling face. Miss seeing your Momma, also. Happy New Year.
I just made this! It was bad ass, easy and easy to clean. Loved it! Ingredients were cheap and I bought enough to make the same thing tomorrow. Can't wait!
This one is so easy and so tasty, I love it. Thanks Marion. I used dried egg noodles and king prawns and it was awesome. I stir fried the egg noodles first and then added them to the Kings Prawn & sauce mixture right at the end and mixed it all up. I also added white pepper to my oyster sauce.
This is my favorite recipe of anyone I’ve ever found online. SO easy and fool proof and delicious. I’ve made this once a month every month since this video came out.😂
Tried it tonight for a panel of Japanese and Chinese guests... : approved!! And so easy to make! Thanks Marion! And Happy New Year to you and your loved ones ❤️🎊
Saw this last week and made it today. And I loved it (I usually don't make something like this) I added carrots and shiitake mushrooms to the dish, because it wasn't enough veg for me. My cabbage was almost 1lb heavy plus the carrot. It was heavenly. Thank you for this awesome dish Marion's kitchen.
I'm so glad I have all of the ingredients in my kitchen, cant wait to try tmr! It's the next day, and I just made this dish! Besides cabbage, I used bok choy! So delicious, I highly recommend
Me too. Along with Maangchi and Future Neighbour, her recipes are the easiest to follow and ALWAYS turn out perfectly and are DELICIOUS. If you're self-isolating due to Coronavirus, now would be the perfect time to cook all the things you've wanted to try. Stay safe :)
I made this last night with what I had on hand. I used bean sprouts an a carrot, brown sugar, 6 cloves garlic, 1 steak thinly sliced, siracha an 1/4 c oyster sauce. The little bit extras are from to heavy of a poor, lol Was delicious! Daughter wants it on a normal rotation
This is such an amazingly simple and delicious recipe! I made this for dinner yesterday but with egg noodles. Turned out absolutely amazing! That cabbage surprisingly adds such an abundance of flavour as it soaks up the essence of the soy sauce and the garlic! Can’t wait to make this dish again! 👌🏻
Thank you for creating this video super quick full packed flavoured recipe🤗 Mother of 3 young little ones, this has saved me so much time, adds so much more diversity to our weekly dinners..🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is exactly how I always cook this recipe before finding your channel. Except that I am not keen on cabbage, so I use mixed sliced peppers which makes the meal very colorful and attractive, and very tasty.
I appreciate that you use store bought, pre-chopped veggies to make meals like this one a breeze! Super excited to add this to my collection of good, quick eats!
My daughter and I both love noodles, and I made this for her tonight and she loved it. I added ground pork as well, and it was amazingly simple and quick to make. I'll be making this frequently. Thank you!
Discovered your channel yesterday and made this for dinner tonight. I typically use recipes for "inspiration" but I actually followed this to the letter and it turned out so amazing. My boyfriend and I usually have leftovers... not tonight. Thanks for sharing 🍜
Thank you so much for this recipe. I had some Udon noodles in my freezer and was trying to figure out a recipe for them. I found your recipe and OMG…my wife & I LOVE ❤️ it. The garlic flavor is amazing. Thank you so much 🙏🏾❤️
Made these! Substituted shrimp with cooked chicken breast, skipped the oyster sauce (used light and dark soy sauce and sesame oil instead), used carrots instead of cabbage and added white pepper. Absolutely delicious!!!
😊 you can do this just noodle garlic chilli too, with prawns chicken pork or beef, I also add oyster sauce, some soy sauce, chilli, fish sauce and spring onions, the recipe is a base, like cookie dough, you can mix and choose x 😊 always tastes amazing ❤
That was delicious. I've never never had cabbage and prawns together before. I especially loved the combination of the different textures: chewey noodles, crunchy cabbage, soft prawns.
