I know little & nothing about French compositions, so I'm guessing this is why this music sounds so atypical of everything else I've listened to. An education this morning!

I’ve not heard this piece before but I absolutely loved it. Beautifully played Jonathan. I will be listening again and again for sure. Thank you Tom for taking us round the Cathedral. Such a lovely building and fabulous pipe organ.

This has to be the QUINTESSENTIAL transcription/performance of (arguably) Lully's greatest composition. The performance and registrations are absolutely PERFECT, in that they convey the subtlety and elegance of the original setting and also bring this piece under a single performer's hand(s). BRAVO!!!

Hello! Me again . . . Just felt the need to come back and share that I've listened to about 5 other transcriptions/performances of this marvelous passacaille on RUclips, and this is BY FAR the best rendition/interpretation out there. You do not treat this as "Show Off" music, but capture Lully's original subtle/graceful/elegant essence and intent. BRAVO!!!

Bellissimi questi brani e molto bravi i pianisti che suonano su quattro tastiere è una pedaliera, la qualità del suono che esce dalle canne è eccezionale.

A "schott-ish" version of "La Vergine degli angeli" by Giuseppe Verdi... With your dinamics and your tasteful registrations I think It would be a milestone. Thanks for Jean Baptiste 😉😊 Your music Is outstanding.

Impressive transcription from one of Lully's finest operas. In fact there must be more pieces suitable for transcriptions and arrangements by Rameau - Platee for instance. (The storm - orage scene - which would be a real challenge played at full pelt!!)

Wasn't expecting a piece by Lully. A great piece and great playing! (But the latter goes without saying.) This and Purcell's Passacaglia have a very similar feel, so perhaps Jonathan can also play that, too, you know, as a good Englishman to honor his compatriot. (I just want to hear it.)

I had read that Lully, while angry, put his conducting staff into his foot. He died from an infection as a result. (A reference to Harold C. Schoenberg's book "The Great Conductors"). From Chicago, U.S.A.
