I really liked the idea of a Live showing setups. It doesn't necessarily have to be just from the people who are on the Live. But setups that people have seen on the internet and found interesting and can share the images or links for us to analyze on the live. It's always good to see ideas that we can use to improve our setup as well. Especially seeing interesting solutions that other artists have found to improve ergonomics with their Drawing Displays, and the setup in general, such as tables, stands and even chairs.
Great Live! It was great to be able to see everything from the unboxing to all the tests. Your channel gets better every day! When I saw the review of the Kamvas 13 Gen3, I thought that when they released the 16" model, it would become the definitive 16" Pen Display. But it seems to me that for this price, the Artist Pro 16 Gen2 is a better option. The XPPen model seems to have a more premium construction, with a larger 16:10 aspect ratio. A metal case to store the pen, and several felt nibs. And a control that I think is better than the buttons on the tablet itself. The only advantage I saw in the Huion model is that it already comes with the Stand. What would have to analyze is whether the difference between the Huion Gen3 pen is much greater than that of the XPPen
I'm glad they released this version. I admit that I have been waiting and waiting for a 22" or a 24" version with touch and new pen tech. 27 is too big and 19" leaves me panning way too much. Currently using a Huion RDS-220 (2k 22" tablet - no touch and pen tech 3)
@penholder7765 I really like it a lot. I produce custom artwork for clients everyday with it. I've had quite a few tablets in my life, Wacom for a long time. My initial switch was a 22-in XP pen tablet and then I went to the RDS because it had the nano texture on the screen and 2K resolution. I purchased a 27-in kamvas pro, but that was so big, ended up at the chiropractor. In the world of tablet artists, I think the typical menu layout needs to become adjustable and customizable, a whole different wreath link to menus. Or some kind of cool interface maybe.
@@charliemartian8720 Thanks for the quick review. Btw, i recognize your profile pic because i see your comments quite alot under display tablet review videos a few years back.
@@penholder7765 I originally liked XP pen because I had better success with the drivers working. I was having some really bad delay in lag in Corel Draw and was not getting any help from support. So after switching an old welcome 24 that I had for a number of years, I bought a Huion. Bad drivers at the time. I switched to XP pen (artist22) It was a great tablet and I worked on it everyday. Once in a while, the drivers would flake out and I would have to restart my computer. At the time, that was not unheard of. A friend of mine had a huion tablet and wasn't having driver issues. They released the RDS-220. It was not sold in the United States but I found I could buy it through b&h. It was a 22-in tablet with 1440 display. I've been using that for about 3 years I think. Quality-wise, not really a lot of difference. I even tried a 22-in Wacom pro and returned it. I like the structure of the XP pen and hue on tablet. I think wacom's tablets are cumbersome overall. They have weight in them that is unnecessary and to put the buttons on the underside of the tablet like game controllers makes no sense to me, it's not comfortable to access
@@penholder7765 I want the option for touch in my daily work so bad. I currently work in clip studio paint everyday and I've been using the tab mate which is a small controller that lets me have a lot of shortcuts at my fingertips. I loved the 27-in, it was just too big. There was no place for a keyboard and I feel like I was reaching way too much to the menu with the stylus or my finger. Typical menus just don't make sense when it comes to working on a tablet, especially one with touch. Repetitive motion, lifting the shoulder up that high is going to cause a problem. I ended up at a chiropractor. Please note I'm 55 years old. I've been doing custom artwork like this that I do for over 30 years
It looks great, but the price is a bit steep for me considering there's not much terribly wrong with the previous gen Kamvas 16, so I'll be waiting on sales for this one. PW550 bridges the gap considerably, so it's a tough sell currently. I also found some use for the ST300, I've dual-locked a Haute42 Mini onto it to use as a lap controller. You can probably also use them as paperweights. :) EDIT: No VESA holes, boo!

Hei charlie. how your Huion RDS-220 compare to your previous Xppen display tablet?
