Thank you for my Friday Hillbilly Modeling fix, Johnny. The project is really coming along. I was looking at a ICM WWII French armored car that was interesting. The Battle of France has always fascinated me and I am always looking at your French playlist. Also bought some acrylic craft paint yesterday for a project. I think you are rubbing off on me, in a good way, ha, ha. Have a great weekend.
Hi Christopher, I should do more armored cars, they are a very interesting subject. Ah yes, the acrylic craft paints, just be sure to screen them to get rid of oversized particles if you're spraying them and you'll be good, I think you'll like them. Take care my friend, enjoy your weekend! Johnny
Hi Johnny, you never fail to impress me. The colour variation/modulation from the green is brilliant, you've picked out those highlights on the fold on canvass perfectly, fab , stay safe my friend see you next week 😊
Thank you so much Ian😀I'm just using simple technics; I think or at least hope these are things that anyone can pick up on with their builds. To tell you the truth I'm learning as I go, LOL!! I never really know what to do with canvas, one day I'll get it figured out, but we're getting there. 😉. Take care buddy, see you next week! Johnny
Hi Johnny, Very nice result on the paint work, I really like the way the canvas has turned out and the contrasting shade given to it by the choice of primer. Have a good and safe weekend.
Many thanks Gerry, canvas is always a problem for me, I never know how to approach it except to just dive in and do it, lol. Have a great weekend my friend! Johnny
Hi Johnny, the painting is coming along very nicely, the cab and cargo bed looks great as does the canvas cover, best regards from Australia, have a great weekend, cheers Les
Thanks James, I never know what to do with canvas, and after lots of thinking about it I just commit to it and hope it comes out, LOL. Thanks so much for giving it a look buddy, have a great weekend! Johnny
Thanks a bunch Richard! I'm never really sure about the color until it's on the model, this one is coming out pretty well so far. Thanks for watching buddy, take care and model on!! Johnny
Great video Johnny covering the priming and painting..The paintwork on the canvas parts look amazing..The dry brushing brought it together well..Also the trustee toothpick brush saves the day.!.What would we do in this hobby if we never had toothpicks.? Have a wonderful week and all the best Johnny🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
Thank you so much Paul😀I do enjoy the process and seeing things start to come together, it's really satisfying. Toothpicks have so many uses, I think many modelers overlook their usefulness. Take care buddy! Johnny
Hi Steve, I'm never sure what to do with canvas so after waffling back and forth for a while I just take the plunge, lol. As for the storm, we lost power for 2 days and some minor flooding, but all is well now. Thanks for asking, take care and enjoy the weekend! Johnny
Always good to see you eager at work, buddy 🙂In my opinion you did an outstanding paint job on the canvas. And the rest too, of course! Quick question: do you use an extractor fan at your paint station?
Thanks Mike👍and yes, I use a paint booth with filter and fan, it keeps the overspray under control. Since I use water-based acrylics venting isn't a problem. If I were to use anything solvent/petroleum based I would need to vent it. You should use some kind of a fan unit to at least keep the overspray from coming back towards you, Thanks so much for watching, take care and model on!! Johnny
Another great job, as always.Would you like the color on the camvis?Makes a whole truck top well. Can't wait to see your next video I always enjoy watching them keep up the good work
Hi Raymond, I've seen pictures with canvas in the kaki like the instructions call for and also in the green, which is how it's depicted on the box, and I think I really like the green look. Of course it's really whatever you would like. Take care and thanks for watching my friend. Johnny
Nice masking and painting Johnny, I need to upgrade to Tamiya masking tape like you. Currently the 3m blue and green frog tape falls short of expectations for me.😟
Hey David, I use to use some cheap model masking tape that I got online, and that was a mistake. I love the Tamiya tape; it stays in place and doesn't remove any paint when I pull it off. It's a little more costly but worth every penny. Take care buddy, hope your enjoying your weekend! Johnny
Hi James, I am sorry, but I do mostly military subjects. I do plan to branch out into other subjects but for now I do not have any car builds. Thanks for watching my friend, I do appreciate it. Good luck with your build, take care. Johnny

Hi James, I am sorry, but I do mostly military subjects. I do plan to branch out into other subjects but for now I do not have any car builds. Thanks for watching my friend, I do appreciate it. Good luck with your build, take care. Johnny
