We will make this quite simple:
If you are an audiophile, you are probably going to have some issues with the sound difference. These cushions are geared more towards the avg consumer who does not have a delicate ear when it comes to sound.
As for audiophiles, we have partnered up with some experts in sound to improve our future cushions towards you guys.
But as a company, we have always been a COMFORT first approach. Thickness comes with some sacrifices.
While it’s hard to please everyone, we will try our best in the future
Loving my wicked Cushions on my G pro headset for about a year now (purchase inspired by Techne's channel!). Thank you both guys!
And to address the audiophile range. I totally appreciate your honesty, but really, nobody wants the worlds best sound quality where your ears start hurting after half an hour. So from my perspective, you got your priorities straight!
@@markmulder996 I appreciate the support! Everyone has a different preference and that is ok!
Appreciate the honesty and transparency
I am so disappointed, after all the rave, I believe these reviewers are getting paid to be positive.
I got the freeze ones, bass is almost gone, because they are tighter on the top than on the bottom. Sure they are a bit more comfortable, but I bought an expensive headset to get good audio. Now they sound like some cheap 50 dollars headphones.
@@markmulder996 If that's the case, then return your headphones and buy another model, it makes no sense buying a 370 dollar headset, another 30 for wicked cushions, total 400 dollars and they sound now like 50 dollars headphones. Might as well just buy something cheaper then.
Maybe I should have gone for the upgraded cushions instead of the freeze.
Add to that that now all the ANC is gone, so we paid this price because it has ANC as a feature, but now its gone.
And then if you want to fold on your neck, it doesn't, because pads are too big, it feels like its strangling you.
Virtuoso XT user here. Used both default and wicked cushions (non gel) custom pads. They do change the sound stage of the headset quite a bit in fact. First thought i had, they appeared far more bass-y. In fact the whole headset appeared more isolated from the outside world. After a while I noticed that the lows and mids were a bit muddy unfortunately. It was as the whole sound quality dropped a significant amount. Switched back to the default pads and the sound stage is clear and normal as intented. Keep in mind, Different headsets - different results! 😃
Weird, I didn’t get that feel on the XT’s, actually was using them the other day (PC with EQ adjustment)
@The Techne Are these the full pleather or gel? I got the full pleather. Comfort was supremely upgraded with the WC though haha!
I just got the Freeze WC Cushions (Corsair Virtuoso RGB XT) and I agree. It does make them a lot bigger and wider, but the natural ANC is better, and my games do sound more bassey and much clearer. Dolby Atmos is much more effective.... I don't know how, but the comfort is definitely there. Not for everyone, but good replacement for my peeling OEM cushions.
I bought WC Freeze pads for M50XBT2 and sound did indeed change. Sounds maybe even better than original, softer sound. Comfort is so much better than stock pads!
After tuning the EQ with the Wicked Cushions it’s actually perfect for me. A lot easier on my ears and better for long play sessions. I have them for the Arctis Wireless Pro headset. The sound isn’t so harsh on my ears now. But it’s all preference and each user will have a different opinion. The nub definitely an issue for me and the Wicked Cushions solved it 💯!
As a non audiophile person, you can almost never tell the difference. Most people will be happy with comfort in longer game sessions.
110% well said!
Yup, all I care about is can I hear footsteps clearly and does music still sound good?
@@SnowMexicannyes
Corsair virtuoso xt user here. I ordered the normal ones not the cool gel ones and two things I could tell immediately after using the wicked cushions. Number 1 the the sound quality was immediately different I could definitely tell it was more muddy you can notice it, after switching back they sounded much more better on the original. Even though that is bad number two is worse. The worse thing is although they advertise it to be more comfortable and I can tell the comfort is the same or almost similar I have the pleather once and coming to the worst part the original cushion of the Corsair actually perfectly fit my ears but the wicked cushions however actually are a teeny tiny bit smaller and the underside of my ear actually touch the inside cushion of the headphone although it is not uncomfortable the my ears don’t touch like that on the original so keep that in mind. Personally speaking it feels like I wasted my money but then again if the pleather actually ever wears out on the Corsair original then I will use the wicked cushions which was the original intent but still very disappointing experience.
Add on: One upside I can give to wc is my ears touch the speakers of the Corsair on the original although it doesn’t really bother me cuz it’s very little wc almost don’t touch. Still I’d much prefer the complete fit of my ears on the Corsair than wc. Very disappointed
I just received my WC gel and normal pads for my Arctis Novas today. Definitely a noticeable loss of sound isolation. I would guess 2db. With anc on, I can now hear my computer fans humming instead of only noticing them in dead silence. All the clamping force is up top and with the wide distributed pressure toward the bottom of the ear means that it doesn't have enough force to hold down your lobes, at least for my ears. Still more comfortable than the stock ones though so although it's a better option, it doesn't feel like an ideal option as now the ANC functions more as a noise reducer rather than something to eliminate persistent distractions.
So first off, I’m a huge fan and subscriber of your channel and I’m glad Wicked Cushions is working with you. Having said that, after ordering my Astro A50 wicked cushions (retro 90 style), I put them on and immediately felt a more comfortable feel. HOWEVER, the sound was terrible right off the bat. I tried to EQ them and made them as close to the default sound, but nothing worked. It’s comfortable, but it’s not worth the money if they can’t reproduce the sound the headphones were intended 😕
Yeah the astros probably have the biggest change due to the stock pads being all cloth/open.
Sound is very subjective, but I personally love the sound with the WC on the a40/50’s, a bit more in your face crisp pinch. Audeze feel
The reason why people like your videos, its because you are honest;)
Come to confirmed from Audeze Maxwell user.
Wick Cushion drastically change the sound quality in a bad way
The design is so great and cool function work great, sadly the sound is not acceptable
I like the wicked cushions for my virtuoso.
The bigger cups for the ears did not change the sound significantly. They did make the headset more comfortable
Still waiting on mine to arrive been in shipping for weeks. I pre ordered mine at the start of December it shipped on the 15th. I would definitely recommend trying to see if Amazon has any in stock that's for sure as UPS SUCKS!
I just received my wicked cushions for my steel series arctis nova pro wireless and they are fantastic! Big comfort improvement over the stock cushions. Thanks for the recommendation!👍🏻
awesome, glad to hear
what about the sound
does it help with the sound leakage problem of arctis nova 7??
I have been using Wicked Cushions for my Sony XM5 and Sony H9, and Im really enjoying both.
I bought the gel pads for my nova pro wireless and the sound change a lot, it got super bright thank god for the mix amp I EQ them just right
Bro. Such a shill. You might be correct but yiure spinnin it in a way that is def one sided and once you pulled out every headset with WC and you mentioned you have WC on this and that all your credibility was lost. Anyways ill test them out for a week or so but holy shill batman, you are it.
On the Nova Pro Wireless, the WC FreeZe Cooling Gel ones changed the sound with a significantly noticeable difference. My previous EQ sounded awful with the new pads, so I had to follow a guide that thankfully came out on how to EQ for them.
I had also ordered the upgraded all leather pads too, but I just loved the comfort/design (Red Camo) of the gel ones and left them on. Tomorrow I’ll be trying out those all leather ones because I def preferred the previous sound profile of this set
Yeah i just got them today and they are too thick the headset is notably heavier and sound is muffled
which one do you prefer now?
@@_bchum the upgraded leather ones, havent been using the gel ones much
Do you still use the leather ones? i got em too and i didnt really like the difference in sound with them
@@KiLLaCaM607
Gadgetry Tech posted a great video on these with the EQ settings to get it back to the original sound.
Most people tweak their headset eq’s in the first place, one tweak for another.
@@TheTechne With the Penrose, default EQ sounds great, so it's nice to go back to the default sound.
Also, a lot of people use other people's EQs for games like COD, but it won't work right with different pads, so knowing what to adjust down is super helpful even with custom EQ.
I would say most people aren't skilled enough to EQ a headset properly on their own.
What does cooling gel mean? Do I have to take them off and leave them in the freezer overnight or something?
YUP U GOTTA STICK EM IN THE FREEZER OVERNIGHT...ONCE YOU DO THAT THEY GET GEL LIKE FREEZE COLD
😂
softtttttttttttttttttttttt:))))))))
Anyone got these on Bose 700 trying to decide if I should just go for original or go for these
Hello, i bought the WC gel for my boss 700, what i noticed is that the sound change but in a very very tiny way barely noticeable like, i said the sound change but the sound is not less quality with the WC it is just a bit bit different, for the noise cancellation also a really small lose on noise cancellation like 9/10 but with a better passive isolation
I enjoyed the WC with an amazing +++ in confort like 150% compared to stock one, i do not regret my choice
Using the replacement cushions for the penrose for my Orbit Ss for a few months now. Ears are cooler for longer. Slightly more room around the ear. Slightly more distance from the driver. I have big ears so these were a must. The sound is just as good to me. The cushions are cozy.
Hey Techne took your advice man and got a pair of wicked cushions. Man! What a difference! Night and day !!!
Thank you!
so glad to hear I was able to help
Mine literally came at the same time you put this video out! Just waiting for my headset to come tomorrow!!! You were a big part of why i got the steelseries arctis nova pro wireless headset. I would have went wired, but i love my freedom of being able to walk away from the pc with my headset on
Got my headset today and I freakin love it! I'm one of the lucky ones that doesnt feel the anc nub rubbing against my ear, but i will still probably rotate the Wicked Cushions cuz they look cool af! Played a game on the mw2 eq settings and i could hear everything and at the correct direction so clearly! Still got some tuning and playing to do to really fine tune everything, but its already amazing!
Just bought these for the Astro A50x, I noticed a super big hit in sound quality, which is wild to me. Plus I live in one of the hottest states, so I thought the cooling gel would be more impactful, but it literally made the headset hotter and more uncomfortable. Definitely not for me.
Pls stop i have them 4 days now. That cooling effect is way over rated! My room temp was way lover than in the ear cup. My ears sweat, comfort is ok they are deep but there is lack of breathability, there is none well that shold not be like that. Never again will buy them. Poor quality fake leather i expected real lether around cmmon 30€ for foam ? Naah... better way off with normal deep ear cups if you find lime.those original ones but deeper.. i need link.. 😂
Picked up these pads for my audeze and probably going to return them if it messes with the sound too much. This headset sounds amazing. It's intoxicating really with how good it sounds. For me the headset is pretty comfortable since I'm coming from the Sony Pulse 3d headset. Now those things make my head hurt. Granted I haven't owned these long and I do worry about damaging the planar diaphragm due to a supposed design flaw but we will see. I've been very careful putting them on/off.
Nathan, I suggest you check out Gadgetry tech EQ guide on our penrose earpads before deciding. If it still doesn't help we are here to help
@@WickedCushions Thank you I will do that.
I have Wicked Cushions on order for the penrose x and have his equaliser ready to put on just to try out. Thanks all, really pleased to see WC being honest and transparent as previously mentioned when it comes to comfort being the focus. Love it - keep up the great work WC. Great channel Techne
May I ask if this is washable after a long term of use? Is it safe? And if it does, what kind of soap would I use so I would not damage the product? Thank you!
I got the WC for my Nova Pro Wireless due to the ANC pin in the middle of the speaker. It was digging into my ears. Best $40 CND I have ever spent. ANC still sounds as good as it did with the originals.
I feel like these were made for the Arctic Nova Pro. I love my headset, but the cushions suck! The wicked cushions saved this headset for me.
Is there sound difference in hearing yourself between a full leather cushion or the wicked gel cushion with the fabric on top
Swaped the stock pads on the Nova pro wireless to WC yesterday and holy mother of god the difference 🤯
Cost me $18 for priory shipping to Australia and they were drop shipped from my local Amazon, sent them a message about this and got no reply. A wicked rip off.
I thought I was being crazy when I noted that mine notably changed the sound in my favorite headset. I'm ordering factory replacements now
Tell me once and specifically. Are simple Wickedcushions, without gel, enough to solve the problem of the protruding part from the ANC?. Is the foam harder than factory ones? I don't need gel ones, I don't use them for hours, and I've seen comparative videos that the sound loses a lot in gel ones, it was recommended to replace them with those without gel, because the loss of sound is the least noticeable. Is it profitable to replace the factory earmuffs with Wickedcushions without gel? Or does it make no sense? according to you?. I am asking for a specific answer or someone who has tested it. Again, I don't want gel.
Another Chanel said the opposite about sound. Stating that they change the sound the most out of every cushion they’ve used
Do you have any videos on Bluetooth earbuds at different price points? Wanting to keep it under 150 just for listening to music and phone calls. Thanks to anyone's input on this.
So going off what I said, you state that the Astro A50s are a “fun” sound, but the mids and highs sounded tinny and far away. I don’t recommend wicked cushions for the Astro A50s unfortunately 😢
Got in on the preorder, used your link and code. Thanks for the extra savings. Been using them for a few days and I gotta say , for me, the sound is better from my Nova Wired. Did some EQ tweaking and I feel the sound is an improvement over the stock pads. Im not an audiophile or a sound pro but the sound is definitely more definitive. Absolutely more comfortable and most importantly for me is cooler!
Gadgetry Tech did a video on this and provided instrument readings for the frequency differences. There is a slight change but nothing too drastic.
@@Drewsterman777 exactly where i got my eq changes from. Sound quality is much better IMO
I have the wc freeze for both g pro x and Astro a 40 yes they are comfortable but I had to change back the g pro x after a year because geez they get hot after 5 10 minutes. No they are not next to heat source the cooling gel is a gimmick sry but it doesn’t last.
I got the wicked cushion freeze for my Arctis pro wireless and that was a huge mistake they changed my sound a lot when it came to foot steps also they do get hot after a while I caught my self constantly taking them off and also last complaint is u have larger ears like I do u definitely won’t like them I was getting pain in my ear cuz of the whole being too small
Wicked chusion make earpad for Pulse 3d ?? Any recomendation ear pad for ps5 Pulse 3d ??
i was sad to see they dont make any for razer headsets! are those rainbow6siege headphones razer blacksharks? couldnt find anything similar for my razer blackshark headset either, do you know of any?
on the Novo 7 complete waste of money, yes thicker but hurt my ears, going back to the stock ones they are much more comfortable
i would love to get these but they haven't made ones for either my gaming headset (logi g733) or my everyday headphones (sony wh-xb910n)
Notice a clear as day difference in all honesty. Switched back to the basic cushions on the Arc Nova Pro.
I have these on my hyperx cloud 2 and they make things way too muffled for me to use
You should try Dekoni leather pads for the h6pro closed. It changes the sound in a very good way.
Which dekoni pads? I was wondering where to get replacement pads for the h6pro closed once they woreout

The sound changes in a good way - they become fps footsteps king.

i FROM VIETNAM AND HOW TO BUY IT ? and i use logitech pro x headset
i just got mine, anyone else had problems with the inside rotation not being flat? its like a bit uneven. only on the left one tho right one was fine.
I’m can more then tell the difference and these suck ass the Astro mod kit blows these out of the water in yearns of sound quality and noise isolation. I’m 100% returning my Astro a50 wicked cushions
first problem was using astros bud 😂😂
Using the wicked cushions with the Penrose made the headset heavier for me. Headphones in general are very subjective due to both the fit and sound. I'm very curious to find out if Audeze addressed any of the feedback given for the Penrose in relation to their new headset coming out in January. To me, the VZR is still the best headset I've used compared to most of the other headsets I've tried. I know it's a wired headset but the fit and sound are by far worth the price. But again, this is all subjective as there are diminishing returns when you start investing in headphones that priced higher than a console.
100% agree, very subjective. It’s great we have so many great options these days
They completely changed the sound signature for my Penrose, you need EQ to rebalance
i regret buying the Wicked Cushions. headset doesn't sound as good.
Rename your channel : WickedCushionsNe 😂
Should I get these for my steelseries 3 bluetooth? I play on the switch and have glasses

Please review on redragon emerald 27 inch, there are no english reviews on it yet
Does anyone know if these will fit Philips SHP 9600?
Enjoy wicked cushions on my arctis 7. Really wish they made cushions for razer headsets.
I have the wicked cushions but the openings are so tiny...cant wear em. i now read up that they have updated this, can you confirm this?
Been waiting for wicked cushions to make cushions for Razor barracuda pro!!
I ordered the cooling gel for my Penrose X exited for a much better headset mod but in terms of sound quality the change was too different from me to keep them and had to return them.
Anyone know if any of these cushions fit Superlux HD681?
LETS GO!! Use wicked cushions. I used them on my steelseries pro wireless. Then I used them on my Audeze Penrose. A must for those because their stock cushions were bad. I even got an extra cushion to go on the top of the Penrose for extra comfort. Hoping the Maxwells don’t need wicked cushions, but if they work on them I’ll probably get some anyway
Just got a set for my corsair v. and i love them the stock is trash .
I use the Razer Kraken V3 hypersense. I've noticed that wicked cushions don't make pads for these headphone or most of Razer's Line up. I mean I ain't mad because the earpads on the headset I have more or less resembles wicked cushions theme here. Thicker than most stock earpads. Cooling gel inside, sport like material on the front and pleather around to seal the sound in. Honestly though I've never really tried after market earpads I do get the point here. Most stock earpads are squishy and thin and full pleather. Like your ears get hot even faster, they wear out quicker and at say a higher volume they get uncomfortable quickly. Where the thicker earpads, I think most people at face value that don't currently use them. Think they will create more heat and perhaps have a negative thought surrounding it. But in my experience it does the exact opposite. Your Seal is better, you can wear the headphones for a lot longer and they don't look, I don't know how to put it. Super used once you own it for a while. My headphones look brand new still and earpads too and I've owned it since they released. If you are using stock earpads and there are aftermarket ones available say with the cooling gel, sports material on front and surrounded with the pleather... give it a try. I can guarantee you wont go back. Its like the best of both worlds. pleather seals and gets hot. Full sport is super breathable but leaks a lot. The mix of the two creates breathable and good seal what's not to like about it.
Thank you for the video. I’ll share my experience with wicked cushions. I replaced my black shark v2 X with Wicked cushions cooling gel...while I don’t notice difference in sound, I am not feeling the cooling gel effect; actually opposite effect of getting spicy.
Which one will fit my Lucidsound Ls35x and Ls50x?
I don't think that much, but they do make a difference to the seal.

They don't have a huge effect on the Nova 7's but the default ones are far more comfortable for me. The ear holes on the Wicked Cushions are too small and my ears touch the inside of the earpad wall and cause pain. I tweeted at WC asking if they would make larger ones and they aren't for now but they are offering me a full refund so that's cool.
Honestly, the differences between stock cushions and WC are so minute that the differences cannot be adjusted using an EQ. Just as Techne and many others have said: Sound is subjective for each and every person so YMMV.
