Ingredients:
For the crust:
1½ cups (190g) Flour
1/4 cup (50g) Powdered sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup (115g) Butter
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
For the filing:
12oz (340g) Mango puree/mango pulp (about 2 large mangos) 1 Egg + 2 egg yolks
1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp. (125g) Sugar
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
1 teaspoon Lemon zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup (180ml) Heavy cream/half&half
Directions:
1. Make the dough: In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Process few seconds until combined. Add cubed butter and pulse until crumbs are formed. And egg, vanilla extract and pulse until dough is formed.
2. Flatten into disk, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board. Lightly dust the top of the dough or the rolling pin with flour as needed. roll until the dough is about 1/8 inch thick.
4. Transfer the dough to a 9-inch (23-24 cm) tart pan. Evenly press the pastry onto the bottom and up the sides of your pan. off the top of the tart pan. Gently pierce the bottom of the crust with a fork. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
5. Preheat oven to 400F (200C).
6. Make the filling: Dice the flesh of the mango, place in a food processor or a blender, process until completely smooth.
7. In a large bowl whisk eggs and sugar until smooth. Add mango puree, cream, vanilla extract, stir until combined.
8. Place the crust in the oven, pour mango filling in to the crust. Bake for 8-10 minutes, reduce heat to 325F (160C) and bake for 25-30 minutes more, until completely set.
9. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Nots:
• In this recipe i skipped the blind baking stage, BUT I highly recommend to blind bake the crust first as i usually do. Otherwise the crust won't be flaky enough. Here you can see how to blind bake properly: • Lemon Tart Recipe

I think I would have blind baked the crust first and then finish it off with the filling. The crust doesn’t look cooked through. I will give it a try with my method. Thanks for sharing!
Actually you are right. It's better to blind bake the crust fist. I mentioned that in the description box. Sorry for the confusion.

LIDIA MILAGROS HUARINGA VARGAS blind baking is just baking the crust to the point of firmness (almost done) and once the filling is put in the baking pan the crust will finish baking. His crust looked under baked to me.

Well I just wasted my energy, time and ingredients with this recipe. If you know there is an error in the written recipe and that it is not clear that the crust has to be blind baked first, why don't you correct that? You can see from the comments that it is a problem. Your written recipe is wrong and misleading. To figure this out if you are a novice baker, you have to search for the hidden information which are added as an aside in the notes. Just wrong!
I totally agree . My tart hasn't even came out of the oven and I'm so defeated like how can someone not mention the most crucial part

Is there any substitute for the cream?
I will amend my comment from earlier. Although I stand by the fact that the recipe needs to be corrected to reflect blind baking of the crust, even without blind baking the crust the tart came out very well. The crust was still cooked through and very delicious even without having blind baked the crust first. That being said, I did increase the bake time until I saw that the crust was golden.

Hi there!if I'm going to pre bake my crust,will I bake it with filling at 200c then drop to 160c?or do I go straight to 160c for 25-30 mins?thank you!I'm going to try this tomorrow!
Bake crust after refrigeration for 10mins (blind baking)+10mins after brushing with egg..180 Celsius
Then bake with mango filling for 10mins @200 then 25mins @160...so total 10+10+10+25=55mins..then 2hrs in fridge before serving

What if we don't add lemon zest and lemon juice ??
I guess it adds a touch of acidity and prevents some oxidisation of the mango puree.
Nothing really happens. I didn’t have lemon juice and the tart baked just fine without it. The lemon juice is mostly there to brighten up the mango flavor, so it’s not like it’s a super important ingredient.
