Amazing recipe! The instruction is clear and the ingredients are easy to find. Have tried a few batches and they all turned out great! Coconut tarts are our favourite dessert now. Thank you!
Thanks El Mundo Eats for sharing this wonderful coconut tarts recipe. They are delicious and flakey! I used mini muffins tray and still turned out so good. This is my husband's favorite desserts! Thanks again💯💯👍👍
Thank you so much for the recipe. As a foreign born Chinese person, it is always exciting to find recipes from Hong Kong. May I suggest that as you substituted flour for custard powder, that a good replacement would be cornflour as it has the same texture as custard powder? Just a thought.
Thank you so much for your wonderful recipe, l tried it today, it was very easy and delicious. I just added some chocolate chips in the filling coz I like chocolate with coconut . Many thanks.
Thanks for the recipe. Could you please explain the reason of adding baking powder to the filling. I'm a novice in baking but my understanding is, baking powder being a leavening agent is only added to cake batters to make them rise. So, I'm quite intrigued as to why in the filling.
I am from Macau, which is near Hong Kong. This tart is a Macanese dessert called coccara, sorry not sure how to spell it. Macau was a Portuguese colony for a few hundred years. The food is one of the first fusion cuisines, being a blend of Portuguese, Chinese and Malaysian, as the Portuguese were there prior to going to Macau. Thanks for sharing this beautiful recipe.
Me gusta muchísimo todo lo que preparas eres toda una genio felicidades y que Dios te bendiga tus manitos para que sigas haciendo muchas maravillas Más desde chile muchos besos
Thank you so much for you prompt reply to solve my problem. Will the top of the tarts get burn if I bake for a few more minutes? For they looked nice already. I'll try you suggestions anyway. Thanks again!
They look yummy n the recipe easy to follow. I will give them a try n let you guys know how it came out.., I've done your chocolate cheesecake so I'm looking forward to this n I'm going to try your mango cheesecake this Easter weekend
Thank you so much for the recipe! I tried and followed the steps but I could not de-mould afterwards. Could you please advise which step should be obseved properly? Thank you!
@@graceko3042 no probs! Are the tarts fully cooked? Perhaps they’re not fully cooked that’s why they’re not coming out from the moulds properly. All ovens are not the same, perhaps yours needs a few minutes more. Another thing you can do is grease your moulds with some butter so that they release better. Hope it helps!
Hi! We’ve never tried it personally but we’ve had people tagging us with photos and saying they used muffin pan instead. Their tarts still looked great. Don’t know how they managed to get the tarts out from the muffin pan though or how easy/difficult it was. Hope this info helps in any way.
They look lovely but what makes them 'Hong Kong'? I made similar tartlets in the 80's but added jam to the pastry before filling, a bit like bakewell tartlets.
Amazing recipe! The instruction is clear and the ingredients are easy to find. Have tried a few batches and they all turned out great! Coconut tarts are our favourite dessert now. Thank you!
Feel peaceful when I’m watching the video. Cooking’s sounds are so wonderful. Thank you!
A nice blob of jam or lemon curd at the bottom takes it to the next level. X
These look wonderful. My gran made something similar but put a spoon of raspberry jam under the filling. I'm going to give it a try. Thank you.

Delicious 😋 I’m off to make these.
Thank you so much for the recipe! I tried and followed the steps but I could not de-mould afterwards. Could you please advise which step should be obseved properly? Thank you!
Hi! To de-mould them, wait for 10 minutes, flip and tap the bottom. Lightly press the sides to help the crust detaches. Hope I helps!
Thank you for your advice! But I found the pastry stuck to the mould and become crumbs after de-moulding. Did I do some step incorrectly?

Hi, if vanilla custard powder is use, is it added into the filling replacing the 1 tbsp (8 gm)all purpose flour?
We put jam in the bottom of the pastry

I am from the UK and my Nan made these back in the 50s/60s but with a teaspoon of jam added before the coconut mix
