Why didn't you look at the instruction to which position the motor needs to be installed in now? You're running 22 pinion, so stock with 70T spur is "G" line. Now that you have the 68T spur, you should flip the motor mount 180* and use the "E" line, what I had to do when installing the high speed set. Your current set-up is meant for a 23T pinion along "F" line.
I'll have a look but on mine I just see the pinion sizes no letters unless they are on the back of the motor mount? But the mesh is perfect for it the way I have it with the stock pinion I will check though thanks for the heads up :)
Since it's a 68T spur gear, those numbers on it don't match pinion size now. The instructions will have the adjustment chart. If you look at the initial instructions to build it the kit, that will also have a chart and which pinion to use with what line. ;)
I actually drove mine with a stock 22T pinion on the 68T upgrade Spur in the 22 position with no real issue. Yes, you should align it according to the instructions (which does say just where to mount it) but the mesh isn’t too far out. I’d recommend moving it per instructions but to each their own. Just bear in mind that these 68T .06Mod spurs can be a bear to get.
There's plenty of none tamiya spurs fit that 4 hole carrier so not an issue to replace it :) but there's so much deviation in the stock motor mount you can get away with a few of the screw holes lol
I just purchased the 68T Spur from Tamiya. I also purchased a set of steel pinions. What size pinion should I run? I have a brushless s3650-3500kv. 2s lipo
I run a 27t with a 21 turn brushed motor but I also run the adjustable motor mount, if you run much larger pinions you will need to cut the end off the pinion cover as the pinion will hit it :)
@@WTFRCCars I already have the yeah racing mount also. I’m all set but I’m waiting on the front steering parts to come. I upgraded the entire chassis to aluminum replacements. For more looks. I know it’s less than ideal for hitting curbs and what not
Just installed this and the rz super stock on my tt02 running a 2s lipo and a cheap esc I didn't think it was going to do jack shit ... I was very wrong
I installed this when I built my TT02. It should be included in every TT02 kit!
definitely should

For mine the mesh is perfect as it is but I'll be swapping out the plastic motor mount for a fully adjustable one soon anyway :)

Yep definitely helps the top speed :)
