I couldn’t agree more. I just moved to my sister’s house, and it’s a nightmare connecting my devices to her Wi-Fi network. I literally can’t believe how inept this company is. Not a shred of understanding of how to make systems logical, sensible, and user-friendly. Pathetic and disgraceful. Google should be ashamed of itself.
That was super helpful. Although I also had to start with a factory reset on my nest mini. But found how to do that reset on another video. It’s done by turning off microphone and holding a finger on the middle of the nest mini for a while.
No wifi option lol. Too bad Google removed the option for that, I guess I have no choice but to factory reset all my devices and reconnect them to the new wifi provider. If there's not a better way, what a flaw in design.
Agree. No wifi option on my app page either. Every other option, but not wifi. Poor design for something so basic and necessary to connect to your device.
Yeah the WiFi settings in his video is no longer there. So this video is no longer useful. However, the comments about factory resetting the device might be useful.
@@evelynlee5508 Resetting them works but it means you start from scratch which is a pain if you have several devices. How a software company like Google can create such a failure is beyond me.
Can I manually change the DNS and IP address on the Google Home? I know I can do all that in my router, but I would like to know If I can do it on the device itself.
I was finally able to set up my 2020 Nest but not through the app but the Google Home app. The initial setup would NOT find wifi but then I went to the home app and it picked it up fine.
Even when removing a device to try to setup again w/new wifi password, you get this endless loop in google home,it says connection successful & then repeats & just endlessly loops. I've reported this bug to google, but now it's so annoying, since changing wifi pw at home, now any device in household can't connect or change wifi & is useless now, with this bug in google home. Ugh, this sucks.
I think it is because you have Google Home Mini, which is the older version. This is for the Nest. The newer version. The same thing pops up for me. I have to purchase another home assistant. I'm going with Echo Dot. I have 5 mghz wifi now. Google Home Mini doesn't support the newer wifi
The updated solution is to click the + button and select add new device. Because your device in question is not connected to WiFi it will be automatically found. You can then go through the steps to add a new device however all your settings will remain in tact.
The best possible solution I found was; *take it outside on a hard surface in the sun *grab your favourite hammer and wohlah! Best 'connection' experience i hav had with this device ever.
nice 👍, if I want to only change my wifi network password then how to change the same, bcz Im using same wifi network with same name or ssid I've just changed password then it is possible to only change wifi network password in Google home app

Quick tip, you basically need to forget network then re-add the device. My spotify and everything was saved and it knew it was the same clock . Odd how you cant swap wifis but either way
When it says connecting to Bluetooth it shows a little screen with ok button that says “something went wrong please try again” but i tried this again for 7 times and still the same so if you are going to another house you need to restart the device and i restarted and do it in my iPad and the first time didnt work but then work. What if you deleted your devices and cleared your WiFi from google home? How do you set up google home app to a new WiFi network and also set up the old device?
I've moved, changed internet providers from Spectrum to Frontier, my "smart speaker" cannot find the new WiFi. Do I have to purchase a new one? There aren't any buttons on this one. The apps I have on my Apple phone have no compatibility with the home app, I have chrome, google wifi ,tv cast, google, google earth, nothing about a simple smart speaker . I'm frustrated.
