- 5 Google Home Commands that I have found to be the most useful for day to day use.
These are some of the commands that I personally use the most often and also not very common. So I hope you learn a few new useful commands and tricks from this video!
All 5 commands work with both the Google Home Mini and the original full size Google Home Speakers.
If you have any other useful google home commands leave them in a comment below, I would love to learn some new ones myself!

Remember to ALWAYS be nice to your Google Home, in case one day it becomes self-aware and remembers all the mean things you said to it!

It already does
You can get the Google home to stop playing after a certain amount of time with a sleep timer. Say "set a sleep timer for 15 minutes". And the Home will stop playing after 15 minutes. No need to let it play all night.
Or "play rain sounds for x minutes" or "stop speaker in x minutes"
i use this every night so my parents do have to wake up to turn it off

Awesome, didn't think of using it as rain sound, love that. Some of our favorite uses: turning on and off lights, controlling temperature, as a metronome for practicing violin, connecting to You Version for Bible reading, using it as a translator just for fun, listening to riddles, timer for cooking and time outs, streaming radio, calling fam/friends while cooking without having to stop, wash my heands etc, and picking random numbers which is very useful when teaching a getting students without using the old popsicle sticks numbers thingy

You can actually set a time for it to stop playing the sounds or music. I do it every night “hey google, stop playing music in “1” hour”
It doesn't work in Google Assistant on Android phones. Did anybody try it with the Home Mini? Did it work?

You dont need Premium to play it on Google Home. Try it.

Pamela Alvarez you have to already be a Spotify premium user which is the $9.99 a month plan. This offer is only for people who been a premium user, does not apply to people just signing up for premium. Spotify is awesome idk why people don’t just use premium.. $9.99 a month is cheap and you get Hulu along with it and now they’re giving a free google home mini!

You can make it one in the app. Go in the apps and on the page you start with there will be a routine option and you click it add a routine and basically add the routine you want

My 4 year old niece loves to ask Google to sing ABC’s with her. You can also tell google to count to 100...or any other number. She’ll even count backwards if you want. She also gets google to play tons of different animal sounds; “Hey google. What does a Horse say?”.

Try "Hey Google, play rain sounds for 1hr". It'll be play an hr before stopping the track.
This works for Spotify too, I use it to play some nice guitar music for 45 mins when going to bed sometimes or playing music when I get up :)

The only reason I was at this is because I got one today for Christmas. I recorded myself saying “Hey Google, im going to ask you some questions” then she was like you unlocked a game passage. I was like what. I played it again and it said “Ok let me get my game show hat on” so then I answered 5 questions. Then I was like is there more passages. So that’s why I’m here. And great video.

OMG, wicked funny, but I think that the sandwich guy from the newer Arby's commercials is who does Bob's voice. His name is H. Go to apps the go to settings and you can turn on the bluetooth to pair with your phone.

The white noise sounds will play for exactly 12 hours long. After that it stops automatically.
You can also set a sleep timer to make it stop playing at whatever time

I was going to say, these are things everyone knows, and was kind of disappointing from the first 4 points. But with that 5th one, you got my like. I knew I could mirror device through the home app but not straight up be a Bluetooth speaker.
You want a tip? When you talk about a list of features then keep the # on the screen. If I jump to 2:30 I have no idea if you're talking about #2, #3 or #4. Having the # on the screen will make it easier to jump around the video.
I can't help but think of simply nailogical with that intro music 😹

you could say "hey google, play rain sounds for 1 hour" and it will stop at that time.
My mini tells me reminders intermittently. Also, I'm a bit confused... Do I need the assistant app as well as Google home and the Google calendar? Does it matter where the reminders are entered or how they are entered as long as they are of the Google family to get playback on the device?

can u connect BT to TWO minis and have stereo sound? i know when u group both of them (non BT) it plays NON stereo sound, its both mono..kinda sux u can't play stereo sounds when u group the minis, not sure bout BT tho
It's still 2 mono speakers with bluetooth on. Bluetooth just takes away the need for a connecting cable between your google mini and the device you're playing the music from.
These are cool tips. though with the bluetooth one i can't seem to disconnect without unpairing the speaker from my phone. Would anyone know what i can do for that?
Greetings, can you connect a Bluetooth speaker to the mini and have it only play music excusiively to the BT speaker and all other requests come from the mini itself.

You can pair a Bluetooth speaker with Google Home in the device settings section of the Home app. Just set it as your default speaker. Your Home device will still listen for your commands, but will route all audio through the connected Bluetooth speaker

@@pixelcube64 Yes got it working. Only problem is it drops and sounds off. For now using Chromecast audio. Sounds much better than Bluetooth connection.
You can set how long to play rain sounds on google home.
I really like the last one. I'm using it now and I was surprised that I can use Bluetooth too.

Did you know if you don't want to say "Ok google, or Hey google" you can say cocaine poodle and surprisingly My google responded and even to "Ok BOOMER as well!!!!!
One more.sometimes i connect my firestick via bluetooth on google mini coz it is near my bed and when i say "hey google" Pause..it pauses the tv and also can play it again, no need of expensive chrome cast😜😜.. Guess many of you didn't knew this one. Go on try it 😛😛

I suggest getting a "sound machine" it's a machine a little bigger than the Google home and it makes white sounds. Unfortunately you can't make any other noise than white noises. But I can't be in my room without it on.
