I recently test drove an EcoBoost 2015 Mustang. I drove a 1968 GT/CS Mustang for 24 years (and wrote a book about it). The interior ergonomics of the 2015 is very close to that of a 1968 Mustang! The feel of the Ecoboost screams "race me", and it gives you all the power you'd need. A very smooth ride! The only thing I missed was the torque kick of the 5.0 at the low revs. I wasn't disappointed, and it's a great car, but if I owned one, it would be the 5.0. This will be a very popular Mustang "flavor" for many people!!! Great, honest review!! Thanks!
Really, really, REALLY appreciate this post!!! We need to see cars tested this way, in the real world, with scenarios we'd experience. Thanks. You deserved that Hoagie!
After this vid, I have decided that this is the only car worth my money at this point. With all the features I had known about I was rather drawn to it already, but the adaptive cruise control puts me at even more ease as it is a feature I could have only dreamt of... not to mention the feature with notifying you of a presence in your blind spot. Another worry gone. Thanks for the stellar overview.
Wow. Many thanks for the kind words, Trent Hallett. Glad I could be of assistance! =)
MPGomatic I made the same decision and bought one in Belgium.
Very cool pinanti! Wishing you the best of luck with your new Mustang … it's a gorgeous car! =)
wow, i respect how much variety and work you put into your videos. this one especially.
Thanks for the kind words, Xgamer121X!
had mine for 3 months love it. about to install a turbosmart blow off valve, tint windows, and add rims.
great job man, 2.3 turbo mustangs are back
Electronic Motorsports I miss my 88 thunderbird turbocoupe :(
I miss my twilight blue 88 as well
Great video! I used to hate the ecoboost because of the exhaust note. But I can see where people like the gas savings and quickness of it. I still love my 2012 v6 6 speed premium mustang. I've never gotten 40 mpg but I can get 34mpg crusing at 72mph all day
Awesome video, glad you got a shot of the sequencing tail lights. That's a great small touch that I haven't seen on other cars, definitely lets you know you are behind a Mustang
Proof. The foot and brain out does cruise control. Even computer controlled 'adaptive cruise control'. Nice work dude.
Thanks eh1eh! Eventually we'll have Super Adaptive Cruise Control that uses geo-mapping to make the most out of elevation changes …
Tell you what..... i loved every minute of this review! Why? Because it felt like a conversation, it felt like i was in the passenger side.
Thanks, David!
I recently hired a new ecoboost mustang in Florida. I fell in love! comfortable, economic, gutsy, nice looks, nice interior, loads of kit, what's not to like?
current car 2006 boxster.
This video is interesting. This is the quietest I have heard the Ecoboost on camera in all the videos I have watched.
Nice video and honest review of the Ecoboost. In my country the V8 costs 120.000 dollar. So a Ecoboost is the only real option for most people here.
I've owned my '15 Ecoboost Mustang for about 5 weeks now. It's *really* nice. I'm very much looking forward to putting enough miles on it so the engine is broken in properly, then I can get a nice tune on it. Bump up that HP and Torque a bit.
However, it's nice to know that it can get excellent fuel mileage on the stock-tune -- and it's so easy to switch back and forth from one tune to the other. I can just switch to the stock tune for long highway trips and keep my power-tune for when I want more power. Best of both worlds!
+LMacNeill How much would it cost for a good tune up for the ecoboost and how much torque and horse power can it add? I was very close to getting the GT with premium package but have now decided to go with ecoboost. In my opinion no matter which one you get the premium package is a must have with everything that comes with it and features.
+roy e UnleashedTuning (dot) com has a great tune, from what I've read. It requires 93-octane fuel, of course -- you'll no longer be able to run 87-octane in it under any circumstances, unless you remove the tune and go back to stock. It's not hard to switch tunes, though, so if, say, you were taking a long trip and wanted to save money on fuel, you could set it back to the stock tune easily, then go back to your custom tune later.
This particular tune supposedly bumps up the horsepower from 310 to around 345 or 350, and bumps the torque *way* up from 320 to near 400! You buy the SCT X4 tuner from them for $400 and they throw in up to three custom tunes for free. If you already have an SCT X4 tuner, you can buy the tunes for $150 and install them yourself onto your SCT X4 tuner. I know they have excellent customer-service, too.
I just got my ecoboost today and must say it is very nice. Initially was going to get the 2015 but ended up getting a black 2016 with the premium package. That tuner sounds real nice setup. I also saw the LiverNois, Cobb and Bama tuners. They all look nice but have no idea which one is the best from these four different tuners.
+roy e Congratulations on your new EB Premium Mustang! As far as which tune is "the best," well, ask 4 different people and you'll get 4 different opinions. :-) I can say that, for me personally, I will be purchasing the Unleashed Tuning tune at the end of this month, because I had a great experience with that company a few years ago on a 2009 Ford Flex. So, for me, it's nothing personal against Livernois, Cobb, or Bama, it's just that I've had great experiences with Unleashed Tuning before, and I think they deserve my money again. But keep doing your research -- sounds like you're being pretty thorough. Each tune is slightly different -- maybe talk to different people who each have the different tunes and see what they like and don't like about them. Best of luck to you!
+LMacNeill running a generic tune is a bad idea, you need to goto a pro tuner and have him custom tune your engine, every engine is different in ways.
Thanks for the video. I'm interesting in buying an ecoboost mustang. I was a little worried, because I'm also a hyper miler, but I see now that it is possible
Gret Video and information! this what people would want to know when buying the ecoboost. thumbs up man.
Thanks TJ Tharp!
Regarding it sounding "4-cylinder-ish" ... If I had one I'd do a blowoff valve and keep the exhaust stock (or maybe open it a bit with a quiet magnaflow to get off the restrictive stock exhaust). You don't need to hear the engine because you hear the turbo.
nice
Nice colour that green 😍👌👍👍
42.4 mpg, Ford U just took a rabbit out of the hat
Now haters are gonna hate but truly the new Mustang line up is totally amazing
Now who wants to shout, ecoboosts wont deliver!!
It broke the EPA by quiet a lot, even if instant mpg has just 80-90% accuracy in real life, even that means 36+ mpg,
Now Ford bring the 9 speed AT, U r gonna hit 50 mpg
Ford will defeat CAFE
Ponygt 662
*Ford talks about their Masterpiece Voodoo engine*
watch?v=AlVd6wgRscM
Escape for Mankind For those boy racers out there stuck in the 50's go get yourself a V8. I'll take a twin turbo any day.
rrogster
Nobody us stuck in 50s, how foolish U R, in the past nobody ever thot f a i4, the point is CAFE norms are hard to beat and guess what Ford has the 1st upper hand with a car that can stay the test of time and norms with ecoboost,
By 2020 the Mustang will be a whole lot lighter and will have 10 speed AT in full glory, add to that better DI,turbos, U r gonna shut up aftet driving it.
+rrrogster Stuck in the 50s? I just bought myself a V8 2015 Mustang GT and I am loving it! I wanted a real Mustang, not some poser.
icy1007 Dude yeah, the ecoboost is not a real American Mustang but ecoboost is a globally welcome, Ford needs to reach masses so ecoboost is a must
Keep up the good work
Thanks for answering my question!!!
This is crazy! I can fill my tank up to the point on topping off in my Ford Mustang EcoBoost 2016, and yet, even when my tank is full, I rarely see over 260 MI range on my range to empty meter. I average around 16 miles to the gallon and City driving and spend most of that in heavy traffic. I never see these 300 and 400 mile ranges people in these videos display.
City driving is an MPG killer. How does it do on the open road.
Great video.
It's very informative.
Thanks Dan for answering my question!
I was smiling all time while watching your video :)
Great stuff, SwPiotrek! :) Many thanks for watching and asking about the interior materials. The 2015 is a big step up over the previous model!
MPGomatic For sure 2015 Mustang is a great car. Reviewers in europe like it a lot :)
I own a 2018 Mustang ecoboost with Performance Pack, and i average 16-17 MPG the way i drive. Mine is moddifed a little, but not to much. Cobb AP3 w/ stage 1 OFS tune. muffler and resonator delete, plus Airaid 3.5" intake tube, w/ Cobb high flow air filter. I also changed my spark plugs to Denso ITV22 1 step colder. I drive my car pretty hard , mostly in the city, so good MPG goes out the window if you have a heavy foot like myself. I did just do a 120k trip and would monitor my MPG. I got up to 29.9 MPG on the highway, but by the time i got home with more stop and go, i was around 25-26 MPG. That was me driving very easy. I use 93 octane, 6 speed manual, with PP 3.55 gears.
love the car, I must say the turn signal relay click sound is annoying.
+pbgrapejay1 Agreed, but it is a very cheap fix to change the relay.
my bmw 525d got 24mpg... and 170hp and diesel.. Ford know to make petrol spends less gas, next car ecoboost ford. I was always fan of ford from cosworth and mustang. And i had mustang focus fiesta.. i am saving for newer ford now.
+MakeSh00t Shouldn't a 525 have more than 170 bhp?
blueonblack83 2003
Ah, I see.
Great test Dan, we have these engines behind a 6 speed auto also in the locally built falcon in Australia....... a largeish 4 door sedan, the eco boost runs mid 14 quarters if memory serves, cant remember the fuel consumption, very impressive anyway .
some dudes in old school 70`s/80`s iron ........ lower power V8`s feeling somewhat depressed after running an ecoboost 4 :).
Thanks mikldude! It's a whole new world. I just saw an ultra-lightweight prototype Fusion sedan at a Ford event this week. The engineers cut a whopping amount of weight out of the car … they said it was about the same weight as a Fiesta! Imagine how fast that would be with this 2.3L EcoBoost … =)
I think for the European market the EcoBoost is the best option... The GT is mure pure thats for sure but here petrol is very expensive plus when buying you will pay a lot of Co2 taxes making the car super expensive.
As for the A5 is more expensive than the ecoboost (at least in Europe) but it's defently better and much more premium... But I still want the Mustang... hard to explain... Mustang is a legend
2 thumbs up for the *boost*! Thank you sir!
Glad to oblige ragingbull94mtx! =) Every vehicle with a turbocharger should have a vacuum/boost gauge, IMHO.
ragingbull94mtx wow about 20 pounds? That's cool. I remember installing a valve to get my 88 turbocoupe to boost to 17 with it's ihi turbo. Miss that car...
jason butler Yes, me too! My first car was a 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. I did the exact same thing. Bought a Ric Gillis "BoostValve" and cranked it up. Good times. MPGomatic Indeed they should!
17lbs of IHI boost ftw! lol
Yep! I had an 84 SVO was fun for an old pinto engine.
so im getting the echboost 4cyl and this helps alot thanks!!!!
Ramiro Valdez Glad to help!
Excellent review sir. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Many thanks for the kind words, CeeStyleDj!
I live right in your area. Love seeing the local drives. Ever think of doing a meet and greet? Would be cool to see some of your more rare cars up close.
Mike Simms Possibly! Friday Night Somerville Cruise Night would be cool, but I wouldn't park anything but a classic on Main Street. =)
MPGomatic LOL Somerville....remember me I'm that guy from Hillsborough. Haven't been to cruise night in quite awhile.
ecoRfan I might take #slambo one of these nights … just for hahas. Maybe park it and run a hidden camera or two to get crowd reactions. d'oh! =)
Thanks! The best mpg I've gotten is 36 mpg. It's heard to not press the gas pedal but I'm going to try for 42 mpg! I love my 2017 EcoBoost.
Lynda Hammel American mpg or British mpg?
@@armaanali39 American mpg. And I did do 40 mpg for a short distance. Typically straight highway mpg is 32 to 34.
Lynda Hammel ok thanks
My 2016 GT gets about 16-17 mpg. 15 if I get aggressive with it.
I love it!
Thanks for the info
Warhawker ecoboost better
2013 GT 22 mpg combined and thats if im driving like a grandpa... aggressive driving is like 18-19 mpg
Will you be satisfied with a four-cylinder engine? Survey Says …
MPGomatic Yep, plenty of power and torque for me. You need to claim a commission from Ford cos you just sold a Mustang Ecoboost for them. Nice driving.
Paul Hurst in germany they tested it and found it not good for the heavy car.....to slow and bad sound.
All Stangs came to germany with Track Pack (autobahn ready) but the testers said it´s still a US car a bit to soft at all. they better had sell a V6 turbocharges and the V8 supercharged !
Near ll our sporty cars in europe are turbo´s now !
kubanskiloewe Autogefuhl review and analysis said it was fine. The sound is never going to be what the V8 is but tax on that in UK is as high as a V10 supercar. The Ecoboost is 0-60 in under 6 seconds so it is hardly slow.
+MPGomatic I'd like to see this MPG review for the V6. I bet it would get a similar cruise-controlled 37mpg thanks to its 3 cylinder mode (my honda V6 does that easily). Also the V6 is ~2000 dollars cheaper! ------ I'd like to see the Ecoboost three-cylinder in a Mustang. If Ford can put it in the 3500 pound Mondeo aka Fusion, then it ought to work in the similar weight Mustang too. (Unfortunately such tiny engines in large cars are typically reserved to $7/gallon Europe.)
.
Annuvyn Arawn
forget Autogefühl lol, drive yourself first ! This little 4cyl. feels so lonely in such a big and heavy car !
Thanks for this video. I'm picking up my Ecoboost later this week. Your 36.5 average on the windows down run was amazing! That's like 44 mpg over here (I'm in the UK so the gallon is larger). If I can even get 35 UK mpg out of mine I'll be stoked. My current Fiesta ST only averages 38 mpg if I keep my foot out of it.
Good luck with your new Mustang, Alex! Gotta stay out of the boost whenever possible to get the crazy high numbers. =) That can be tough …
This car suits you!!
Thanks, Izzie! =)

Great video. I do the same mileage testing in mine and stop by Primo Hogies.
Thanks, Don! Primo hoagies are awesome! =)
Beautiful car. Im a bit biased cos i have a V6 in the same color. I get half your mpg bit thats fine with me cos its worth the acoustics that i have with an exhaust
The best highway mileage I’ve seen is 30mpg and sometimes less. The best average city was 24mpg but my normal average is 17mph lol says something about my driving habits. I have videos of anyone would like to see. Have a great day guys
I'm glad I got the V6.
WhiteDogTherapy why?
Finally! A great review of a great new car. And he tested it real world driving, not the boy racer fantasy crap about how many seconds per distance. Its like saying my dxxk is 1mm longer than yours. Childish and just plain stupid. In the real world as a daily driver this eco boost looks like a real winner in many ways. Not only is the weight distribution more equal, but it weighs less and the mileage speaks for itself. So for all those boy racers out there, go buy yourself a V8. Make mine a twin turbo.
I think this will be my first car :)
Cameron Mack this would be a great first rwd car. Learn how to drive it then graduate to v8 power later
ANNNDDD?
I have an EB mustang and I've NEVER seen mpg above 30. Cruise control @ 65mph yields about 29 mpg. Romping through canyons will give you about 17mpg. My 4500 mile average of about 50% city and 50% highway driving is 19.5 mpg. (I have 3.55 gears and use 91 octane)
trolintime The big trick is to keep it out of boost whenever possible, but that can be tough. How steep are the elevation changes on your highway route? Gearing is a factor.
trolintime Maybe its time to learn how to driver with a light foot. Most people have no idea about how to get hyper mpg. Mr. MPGomatic obviously does. Good Job! The numbers don't lie.
+trolintime I find this hard to believe that you can't get over 29. I get like 34 mpg doing 70 to 80 mph highway and 29 to 30 city.
Audi a5 or mustang 🤔 no brainer mustang all the way 👍 i have a 2017 ecoboost mustang in white its a 6 speed manual absolutely love the car, haf it nearly 2 years and still get excited about driving it, absolute pleasure to drive, so much so thats all i ever want to drive now, next car will be a mustang maybe even v8, and the one after that, no interest in a different car, mustang for life 👍 ive got the mustang bug only car ever for me 👍👍🏴
Living in NJ and knowing exactly where you're driving, you'll only do1 of those loop during rush hour in the same time its taking you to complete all those loops combined. And MPG will be much lower!
Jaime San Miguel It can be crazy out there. :/ I avoid driving during rush hour whenever possible, but I know that's not possible for most folks. My longest full-time gig (years back) had an awesome flex-time policy. We could come in at any time between 7:00 and 9:30 AM, and leave in the afternoon as early as 3:30. It was a great way to avoid the worst rush hour traffic.
Seen videos of this thing keepin up with the 5.0. Don't know how true that is.
Mason Holloway only if it’s modified. The ecoboost mustang can get tremendous gains from simple mods. However, stock vs stock the 5.0 will win. Unless the 5.0 driver sucks.
If you are not content with what you have...
you won't be content with what you think you want to have ...
It is what it is.
Funny thing, a naturally aspirated engine gets its best thermal efficiency (useful work vs fuel used) with a wide open throttle at a low RPM, so hills can actually help efficiency by holding RPMs low with a wide throttle and then coasting down the other side.
Great Video can you do a video on the 2015 Dodge challenger V6 I'd like to see mpg on that car.
Thanks! I haven't been in the V6 Challenger in a while. Hopefully this spring/summer …
Good review Thank´s
Do you think the v6 is going to be a better or stronger on the long run ? Or is a turbo just as reliable with high miles
The ecoboost has more horsepower and more torque, and better mileage. Also the V6 doesn't come with leather or the big screen
4 cylinder with a time delay "detour" in the exhaust is going to basically sound like a flat plane V8.
If you have a heavy right foot, you aren't going to actually save much gas compared to the V6 and it's probably going to be premium if you want all its power, so don't think you're getting something for free. A different example: the Eco boost F-150 gets worse gas mileage than the V8 while towing. Makes more sense here, though, cause you can't let it rip all the time anyway.
Lets see how well it works at 150,000 miles
Robert Orler For as much stress as Ford has put into all the EB motors during their torture tests, in the short amount of time they induce it, I'd say it will be fine
I understand where you're coming from. It is a relatively new technology. But Ford has been pretty darn thorough in their testing of this technology. Of course, tests cannot uncover *every* situation that a car is going to see in the real world, and there may be issues down the road that no one has thought of yet. But I felt comfortable enough buying myself one of these cars. The turbo-plus-direct-injection (a.k.a. Ecoboost) technology has been around for about a decade now, and enough manufacturers have dabbled in it that I don't think there will be too many surprises down the road. I could be wrong, of course! But after careful consideration, I felt it was worth spending my money on. Certainly seems to be the best bang-for-your-buck right now.
Robert Orler Has anyone bothered to take a look at what kind of engines they run at the Indy 500? They are ALL 4 cylinder engines! This is not your grandfather's car or technology. Besides I don't plan on keeping this car for 150,000 miles. Few do in reality.
+rrrogster You are 100% correct. I will be keeping my new one for 5 years tops which would be less then 70K miles. Many people like me switch car every 5 years because many cars are paid off by then and the new model will be coming out to.
+rrrogster Indy cars only have 3000 mile lifespan. I expect my personal car to last 100x longer, in highway driving, and it's doubtful a turbo can do that
.
.
is it normal for the car to crackle when u turn off the engine
Yeah, had to same in my panamera
+wesley persijn the*

Nice car.
This video has been out for over a year now but I enjoyed it. I'm still considering a Mustang. Haven't made a solid decision yet beyond wanting the convertible, but videos like this are helping the process. While watching your mileage runs on this video, I noticed you ran through some rain in the process. What I was wondering is, the adaptive cruise option (which I want!) also comes with rain sensing wipers, were you using the rain sensing feature on that run or just running them in a normal mode? Thanks!
Been a long time, Steve … wish I could remember!
No problem sir, I knew it was a long shot. Thanks anyway! :-)
How much for a used 2015 Ecoboost premium now?
great reveiw
Thanks jay czyzyk! =)
so anyways great video. How do you like the transmission in this 'stang? This makes me miss my 88 Thunderbird Turbocoupe. :(
jason butler The automatic is snappy - not as crazy fast as the duel clutches in the Mitsubishi EVO or the VW/Audi, but quite solid for a conventional auto. The aggressive driving modes step it up. I'm glad they didn't include an 'eco' mode … =)
MPGomatic That's great. Im just glad 2.3 turbo made a comeback. Some day ill be able to afford one. lol
What was that with speedo turning red? That was really cool, I had an Ecoboost for 2 years and never seen that.
The dashboard is real aluminum.
your in nj, i knew these roads looked familiar lol
Bummed. Wanted to hear what the turbo sounded like. Curious if it had an audible whistle or a blow off sound...
Mike Simms I hear ya! The turbo doesn't make much noise. :/ I wanted to try taping a microphone underneath the hood, but I ran out of time.
@19:35 it is 27.9 not 29.7 mpg
DigitalYojimbo Yep!
But it also wasn’t for this test he used the trip meters for the test not the mpg meter he should have reset it
thanks for the video. ....could you do one more video and do that same course but with a Leadfoot so we can see the amount of gas wasted when driving fast compared to driving conservative???
I'd like to try that! Many thanks for the suggestion. I will try to fit it in the next time I get a Mustang for review.
MPGomatic thanks... looking forward to that video.... I appreciate all your hard work on the videos that you've gotten so far.
Thanks for the kind words and support!
MPGomatic Which rear axle ratio did this Stang have, the 3.31 or 3.55? Also, which would you recommend for a balance of fuel economy and sport? In other words, do you think the 3.31 will be noticeably sluggish, or peppy enough? I really like the fuel economy you got in this video.
Fordguy1997 I realize now that you need the Performance Package to get the 3.55 axle ratio. But I would still appreciate your feedback if you wouldn't mind.
Fordguy1997 This EcoBoost Premium had the standard 3.31 rear. It did well. It would be extremely interesting to test a tuned version, as well as the 3.31 vs the 3.55. I'm headed to a Ford corporate event this week at their new tech center in Palo Alto. I'll pitch the idea …
only a deaf guy will think that thing has V8 under it tho xD still great car
How tall are you? I see you in the seat and there appears to be decent room behind you for the back seat passenger.
John Cardin Also, It looked like the car bucked quite a bit when driving. What was your opinion of the "ride" of the car?
I have the car and the backseat isnt too bad. Leg room isnt the problem its the height of the passenger cos the steep back give minimal head room if your say 6 or taller
John Cardin A bucking Mustang? It didn't feel that way.
I (still!) don't have a three-point triangulated camera mount (they're pricey!), so camera bounce can be an issue. I'm 5'10"
so what were the 0-60 times?
So what was the time for zero to 60?
So what was the 0-60 time?
dewgla Who cares!!
+rrrogster then why did he bother to make a 0-60 run?
+dewgla I guess you have no answer to that. Eh?
I would agree with you, if he hadn't made a dedicated ( and timed ) 0-60 run. But he did! ( maybe you didn't watch the whole video)
Had he he done this mpg test and not given any mpg numbers? I'd ask what those numbers are as well. And I'm sure you would too
And lastly, I'm sorry that your Johnson is so small that you have to measure it in millimeters
If I were to get a Mustang I would have to get the 5.0L V8 Mustang GT and get 25 MPG hwy.
+Real 0 To 60 Times I get closer to 30mpg highway in my 2015 5.0 GT.
+icy1007 Auto or manual? Used line lock yet?😎
+1compaqedr8 It's an automatic. I don't really have the patience for a manual gearbox. Also I do mostly city driving.
Yes. I've used the line lock exactly once. It was awesome, but I don't feel like replacing my tires often so I will leave that for special occasions.
I think I would buy a 2 year old gt over a new ecoboost
That's the garden state parkway in NJ
Close! It's 195 & 295. I avoid the toll roads whenever possible.
I wanted to see a u-turn.
ExactlyPrecisely Gotta get those requests in while the window is open. Fingers crossed I get to see another Mustang before summer is over and I can do the U-turn test.
That red light tho..... lol
jason butler Red lights are the vampires of mpg. This car will show you just how much gas you waste setting at red lights. Never mind the seconds and minutes of your life wasted.
that computer screen would piss me off and you would think it would be illegal cause its an unnecessary distration....
It is Metal, Not Covered Plastic...
I didn't see it covered and apologize if I missed it but what octane were you running for these tests?
Not to worry! IDK what type of gas was in the tank when Ford dropped the car off in my driveway. I wish I had the resources/time to test with various octane levels …
+MPGomatic No problem. I was curious as the EB mustang runs on 87 just fine with the exception of giving up some horsepower. The peak factory ratings of 310HP 320 lb-ft of torque comes with use of 93 octane. It would be interesting to see the mpg difference but let's face it people running 93 octane for the peak performance aren't concerned with mpg. I have my 2015 EB mustang with a roush CAI and cobb 93 octane performance remap averaging 27.3 in mixed city/hwy spirited driving. Thanks for the response and informative review.
cmiles 97 Great stuff! Enjoy! =)
Sounds like a v6 too.... Nice job ford.
Fuck yeah NJ
I'm pretty sure I heard that the interior IS actually filled/trimmed with brushed metal...am I wrong? Just asking.
+M Coop Yes. The dash is brushed aluminum, NOT plastic.
Patrick Kean Yeah that's what I thought. This guy didn't know what he was talking about, kinda threw me off for the rest of the video, but in his defense it's hard to believe how nice they made the interior quality for this generation...Honestly this interior is in my opinion on par with those in the bmw 3 series up to a certain trim level, and even audi a4/a3's and the cla250 from mercedes. Only difference is that for the price of a base model of one of those with a few measly options, you could probably get a fully loaded mustang GT premium with twice the horsepower.
+M Coop Yep! I got it wrong when I shot that piece. My apologies. I'll add a sticky. Thanks for catching this!
MPGomatic It's no big deal, Excellent review otherwise. Real in depth and straight forward. I enjoyed it very much.
M Coop Thanks! I should have caught it in the edit, but hey I gotta mess up once in a while to keep it all real. =)
37mpg... fuck I'm about to trade in my 2010 SS (21mpg) because this seems like a much better daily lol
Gotta light foot it to see those crazy high numbers. I have a turbo Camaro on the schedule for later this month …
See I try to light foot it but the clutch doesn't like to grab unless I give it a good bit of gas so I feel like an automatic would get more MPG than me in a manual. My commute is 4 miles moderate traffic city and 12 miles highway with no traffic unless it's raining. So I feel like me in an ecoboost would be a lot of winning. What kind of gas does this thing take anyway? Premium where I'm at is almost $3 a gallon again and that's all the Camaro can take.
+White Camaro It's designed to run on 87 octane regular but will be happier on higher octane fuel.
Hey MPGomatic, so how much does that mustang costs? Thanks
Naro fv Base price on the EcoBoost Premium is $29,300. This car was optioned up to slightly under $35K
+Naro fv I am getting my ecoboost tomorrow with premium package. Yeah the price is about 29K I don't think its worth it to get the additional package on top of that which brings it to 35K. For 35K you can basically get the GT with premium package so would not make sense to pay 35K for ecoboost.
can you do a review on the 2015 dodge challenger sxt
Thanks for the suggestion! I'd like to get a Challenger on the schedule. Stay tuned …
not in stop and go you will average 5mpg
Really, no auto start stop?
Phos9 Sure. You can always go buy something else and pay lots more. Ford really has hit the sweet spot here with bang for the buck.
It just seems like an odd omission on a fuel efficient trim.
+Phos9 auto start-stop is really only something found in hybrids... cylinder deactivation, like that found on Chevys, doesn't make much difference at highway speeds and has been found to waste oil.
EcoBoost Mustang, what the bloody hell is the World coming to. Might as well get a Nissan Leaf. The whole point in having a Mustang is for the V8 rumble. Gone in 60 seconds, got no chance in this.
+stav slack I love V8s, but it's a whole new world. Do a search on "EcoBoost Mustang tune" … this is an easy thirteen second car with just a tune.
+stav slack I feel like people are not understanding why ford made the ecoboost mustang. They say it's for fuel economy, but really, they're trying to make a more lightweight sports car to compete with the Subaru WRX/Golf GTi/Scion FRS.
Are you near Virginia beach?
Jersey!
+MPGomatic ok
V8 alll the wayyyyy!!!
the v6 is gone forerver
sounds noisy inside....poor insulation
Probably just the camera. These cars have very good insulation actually. Much better than any car i have owned.
Who the hell drives 65 on the freeway?
65 limit here in Jersey. I aim to test at 68. Go faster, you pay for it.
No thanks on an Ecoboost. Bought a GT.
i would've got the GT too if i had the money for it lol
adrian m8 get the v6 sounds better than a ecoboost
Sadly it's more than just the initial cost. Both hits on insurance and gas... Let the old bags get their gas guzzlers, I am too young for the GT or Shelby. Once I am old enough and making enough extra cash, I too can be as negligent towards the environment and other people around me!
The Car Crazy Guy why not the GT350?
Sorry but there is no point of having a Mustang if you are going to go drastically slower than everyone else. It's just dumb
Sebby the Musician ruclips.net/video/pWdd6_ZxX8c/видео.html
MPGomatic Look I think it's great that you go the speed limit. My brother actually said that lol so you're good
Sebby the Musician I test everything with the cruise set to 68 MPH, three miles over the NJ state limit. If I lived in a state with higher limits, I'd test accordingly.
MPGomatic I get it. It was a great video!
auto wtf?
+CrazyForCooCooPuffs i have the v6 in auto. its faster than the manual and u keep a free hand for the ladies
you bought a v6 mustang?......those are for rental places
CrazyForCooCooPuffs they have gt's for rentals too hahaha not even man, the v6 has always been a solid balance of power and fuel efficiency while still being lighter than a lot of cars. this isnt 2010 anymore. the GT is only half a second faster on average
fuel efficiency argument only matters in the city, on a highway the v8 wil get the same maybe a bit better mpgs, ive seen v8 mustangs with 30mpgs on the computer , the v8 is designed much better overall than the generic v6 they prob put in all there suv's.
CrazyForCooCooPuffs Well most of the people buying these cars are doing city driving lol. Haha generic v6, you have no idea dude. No v8 will ever get as good mpg as a v6, city or highway at least as far as Mustangs go. Its v6 engine is exclusive to the mustang and the 3.7l v6 is faster and puts its power down more efficiently than the outgoing 4.8l V8 Mustangs from only a few years ago. Gota love technology lol everyone who bashes the v6 hasnt driven one in like 10 years when they were actually shit
Nice car.
