    Manual better than Automatic? Real men drive whatever the fuck they want. I own both, I've learned to drive using manuals and I've been driving manual far longer than when i started to drive automatics, I prefer automatics on my daily drives now.

    Let me jump I'm on this. I have had this car (manual) for a month now, and I average 10-12MPG per tank. No way you can keep off the throttle and get these fuel numbers. I drive like a friggnin maniac.

      +MPGomatic THE Challenger V8 has a 4 cylinder mode, reducing engine size to 3.0 liter, so it actually saves more fuel versus cars that don't have this. I'd like to see you drive that car for hypermileage

      +MPGomatic THE MPG with the V8 engine is not that much worse than the tiny I4's MPG. In your test with air conditioning on, only 3 mpg worse. With the EPA test it was 6 mpg difference. It's amazing how efficient that V8 is
      .
      Of course if I truly want to save money? I'd choose the V6 version, since it's about $2000 cheaper than the other engines! Three cheers for saving money immediately

    people need to stop saying this is the first time theres been an independant rear suspension. the 03-04 cobra did it first. if youre gonna say the 15 mustang is the first then BE SPECIFIC its the first time its been offered on all trims of the 15 mustang.

    • @michaelwalters5026
      @michaelwalters5026 9 лет назад

      ***** Yeah but the big difference is that the IRS on the 99-04 cobra wasnt that great because it wasnt designed for the car. They modified the already existing IRS from the thunderbird so it would work on the cobra. The 15 is an all new platform designed with IRS from the beginning. Performance wise the 15 IRS is amazing because the rear suspension was designed around it, and it drives like a modern performance car, where as the 03/04 cobra was more like someone took out the regular mustang suspension and retrofitted IRS from a different car in there, and it just didnt have that balance that it should have had. Yeah the 99-04 was the first but I would say the mustang with the first properly functioning IRS is the 15

    Hello, Mr. Daniel,
    I really appreciate your effort and reviews. That said, I would really appreciate if you could increase the sound volume of your content just a little bit. Take Motor Trend or Motor Week for example. Now, however, your volume is slightly below average (others). Why is it so? Therefore I kindly encourage you to consider this suggestion.
    Best regards,

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  9 лет назад +2

      Many thanks for your kind words of support and valued feedback JZZ! It's an honor to be compared to Motor Trend and Motor Week. They have real production crews and resources. I run solo, for the most part, with zero budget. When I find a few extra bucks, I will invest in a new microphone or two. :)

      MPGomatic What program do you use to edit the videos Dan? I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 and that provides several ways to adjust the volume with master, track, and normalize options. Just curious but I hope I could help because I really enjoy the videos.

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  9 лет назад +1

      Zeal S I've been using Final Cut Pro for a while. (Started out with Final Cut Express.) One of the issues is that I can use as many as four different cameras on each video. It's way too complicated. =) I've been using a Tascam audio recorder with a cardioid lav mic of late and it's helped a lot, particularly with in-car audio. But it's a low end recorder/mic combo. I did not use that combo on the highway run (relying on the internal mics in my small Panasonic camera, but the worst stuff is with the internal mic on the ContourHD cam).
      I use an AT 2020 USB for voiceovers, great quality there, but again, another variable. I plan to upgrade to a better cardioid lav mic/recorder (and use it consistently) once funds permit.

    • @zeals1870
      @zeals1870 9 лет назад +1

      I have never used the Final Cut products but yeah managing multiple mics will be a juggle. I do have the Audio Technica AT2020 USB and it is excellent for it's price point. It is my go to daily driver and if I can get away with it I might rig it to a shock mount with a Raspberry Pi setup to be powered by the 12v outlet or a battery but that maybe just an excuse to mod something unnecessary. Anyway good luck with the funds!

    The idea of Recaro seats is slick but the reality is not so good.
    In fact, the stock GT bucket are remarkable well designed and have extremely generous lateral support to keep you planted in your seat. Opting for the Recaros cost you about $1550. For that tidy sum, you lose full electric seats, you lose A/C and heat seats, you lose seat memory, you lose ALL height adjustment on the passenger seat. A big guy like you really needs cooled seats in the summer. But now you do not have the option.
    Very nice stang. Enjoy it!

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  9 лет назад

      +John Adams Excellent points, indeed! This isn't my car, it's a Ford press loaner. I subsequently drove a GT with the stock buckets and you are spot on. I preferred them over the Recaros. =)

    I have a 2005 GT Convertible Manuel and it was converted to Right Hand Drive back in 2007 here in the UK.I have had many American Cars but to be honest you get fed up with the wheel on the Left side.But I am about to test a 2016 GT(for 2017 model) which is the only one in my opinion to own although our gas is running at around $12-13 a UK gallon ...Ouch!!!! it can hurt.To be honest highway driving in my 2005 gets around 26 mpg (UK) But its all about the Engine note and the styling Not the MPG.When we took it to Europe in 2007 People would flock around the car at the filling stations with such admiration but not knowing what the car was ,Aston Martin,Jaguar then I told them Mustang WOW they couldn't believe it ,now there are a lot more around and we have a band of people IN THE UK who love these cars and now the new Mustang in RHD THEY ARE SELLING AT A PREMIUM PRICE as it has a 12 months waiting list but the wait will be worth it .Great review not sure if I am for the Stick or Auto as the years and left leg is depending on the clutch pressure.

    You must be driving a new car. Once you get around 5000 miles you will be getting about 20-22mpg.
    Also, the automatic turns in faster 0-60 and quarter mile runs then the stick

    • @electrictroy2010
      @electrictroy2010 8 лет назад +1

      +MrMrwilson11 BUT the automatic cost 1500 dollars more. I will take 0.1 second slower times if I can save a big wad of cash
      .
      Also your first statement is backwards: Cars get higher MPG after the engine is broken-in and has less internal friction, so his 33 mpg in the test will go up
      .

    • @Knards
      @Knards 8 лет назад

      +electrictroy2010 Wrong. These cars get high mileage when new, it soon goes down. He will not be getting 33mpg for long. Mine was getting 30 when I bought it, whithin a couple months it was down to 21 average.
      Also, that 1500 will be made up in better gas milage throughout the life of the car. and the difference is more than .1 seconds. The paddle shifters are far faster than a 6 speed manual. A 5.0 with 5000 miles will never get 33 MPG. Not even near it.

      How was the cars refinement, I ve driven the new GT once and I was amazed by its refinement,it almost felt like a German car in terms of interior quietness,rock solid feel,etc

    drove one recently accelerates ok in a straight like but is total dogshit around bends or twisty roads couldn't hold a candle to a decent European car like an M5. No one in Europe would chose this over a good quality German performance car, it will not sell well in Europe in a million years. looks nice enough though but like a lot of American cars it is big heavy not too agile. Good for American roads I suppose.

    • @Smood47
      @Smood47 8 лет назад +2

      +neil roberts Problem with the german cars is they look so generic and boring. Especially BMW M series. They look like souped up camrys. The mustang has the amazing looks and amazing sounding engine.

    • @electrictroy2010
      @electrictroy2010 8 лет назад +2

      +neil roberts QUOTE: "No one in Europe would chose this" OH REALLY? Well car critic Richard Hammond of Top Gear chose a Ford Mustang over a german car. It sits in his front yard.
      BTW search engine reliability Warranty Direct (on google) and you'll discover German cars have very poor quality (lots of engine breakdowns). Volkswagen, Audi, BMW... all in the bottom 10

  • @clover7359
    @clover7359 9 лет назад

    3:26 Is that a mistake? Are my headphones failing me, or are my ears? Did you say you can control the amount of play in the steering? I can believe adjusting power assist, adjusting the ratio would be a stretch, but the _play?_ That's abominable! Appalling! An outright atrocity! Why on Earth, should there even be a desire for even the slightest deadzone in the steering!

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  9 лет назад

      WestyWell95 Manuals = more fun to drive, less chance of being car jacked. =) It's suburban/rural where I live and there are lots of nice country roads to enjoy. If I lived in a more urban area (or had to do a lot of heavy-duty commuting) I might consider an automatic for a daily driver.
      Fewer and fewer Americans know how to drive a car with a manual transmission. I'm on a mission to reverse that …

    I have a new 2015 Mustang GT with a little over 2600 miles on it. I manage to barely get over 18 mpg. How did you get this mustang to 26.1 mpg at 6:58? Thanks.

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  9 лет назад +1

      Sukhpreet Singh It's all about how, when, and where you drive. The 5.0L does really well on the open road with a light foot. Stop-and-go/city traffic is another story. The next time you take a highway run or are on a long two-lane country blacktop (without stops), reset the average MPG. Then, stick near the speed limit, go light on the pedal, and minimize lane changes. Every time you're on the pedal, it's sucking down the gas. :)

    • @ElCapo
      @ElCapo 9 лет назад +1

      Sukhpreet Singh It's all on your driving style. I managed to get 27.3 mpg combined on my '15 GT on a 3.5 hour road trip with almost no stopping.

      Auto for me too. Too much Tampa traffic, plus an auto is a faster shift than a manual. My Chevy Cruz is a stick, that enough. Installed a Kooks exhaust, sounds great. Get about 21.8 mpg is my best. See how it does when I take it on a long trip. The low double digits. lol. Yes, keep right, pass left. Lead, follow, or get out of the way! I'm a Jersey boy! I see you were driving in NJ. I like the line lock track feature.
