- Armor All Ultra Shine Headlight Restoration Wipes are inexpensive and can be effective. But it sounds like they don't work well for everyone. I'd reckon it has something to do with the condition of the headlamps.
I restored the headlights on my 1999 Civic (a.k.a. Slambo) years back with the 3M Restoration kit. A few years later, I touched them up and used the 3M preserving wipes. They were in good shape, but yellowed and hazy.
I didn't read all of the unhappy reviews until after I used Armor All Ultra Shine Headlight Restoration Wipes. It seems like a lot of folk had poor results. Maybe I got lucky? I'm not a big fan of Armor All, overall, but I was looking for a budget-priced product and this looked to fit the bill.
I did follow the instructions closely. I used two cleaning wipes on each headlamp, and a single preserving wipe on each headlamp.
Each headlamps was washed and dried before using the Armor All Ultra Shine Headlight Restoration Kit. - Авто/Мото
Thanks men , ioannis from Greece and Cleveland.
Good video. I tried the Sylvania restoration kit 1-2 years ago on my old Toyota van, and I was pleased with it. It's time to re-treat and I bought the Armor All restoration wipes. This video was helpful to get oriented on how to approach it. The Armor All product appears easier to apply relative to the Sylvania kit I used last time. I hope I get as good of results as the gentleman in this video was able to realize!
I hope it turned out okay!
Dang!! Your alive! Looking forward to more MPG test!!
Thanks, Don! 😆
Goodbye, Slambo! You're a gem!
If I had a barn to park Slambo in, things would be different.
Great to see you again! Missed your car mileage reviews.
Thx! Hoping that I can get back to the MPG reviews. Gotta find the time!
Was digging through my emails and came across some MPGoMatic newsletters from many moons ago and was hit with nostalgia. Had to come back and see if you still had a channel. Miss your format!
Many thanks, Paul! I'm hoping to get back to it this Spring, knock wood.
Quite impressive!!!
Nice! Can you drive your car shortly after applying the UV sealant?
Need more new mpg vids like u used to do many years ago!!
Thx! It might be time to dust off the cameras and hit the road.
I just purchased a '99 civic HX manual trans. Looking forward to you revisiting the Slambo. I heard that re-capping the ECU and a new air/fuel sensor can boost those mpgs. I have to replace that crazy expensive sensor due to a slight fender bender from the previous owner.
Congrats on the HX acquisition!
Slambo has left the building, sadly.
Go to work
Deserves more subs
Thx! I never put a serious effort into chasing subs. Maybe I should’ve done that. 😂
Good to see ya
Thanks, Marciano!
Well I’ll have to try it on my 2008 Chevy Impala
thank you
Why do you get twice the amount of wipes in the Armorall pack int USA than we do in the UK?
Nice Shoei helmet. Do you ride?
Thx! It's my son's helmet. I haven't ridden in quite a while.
Taping the body is a non-starter for me. The average paste gunk I can buff off of both headlights in less than 5 minutes with a paper towel and get a decent result is good enough for me. Even if I do it twice a year it's still like 20 minutes of effort combined lol. 😂 UV coating is a nice touch but I am way too lazy for this.
The coating made all the difference with this. The plastic looked dull before it was coated. One or both of the chemical concoctions will cause issues with the paint. Taping is a must for this product. No big deal for me, I tape out of habit. 🥴
I mean it works pretty good
is that slambo?
For Step 1 I did everything you did, but ended up with a white glaze on the headlights. They look worse now than before. I am concerned that if I put the Sealant Protection on (Step 2) it will make matters worse. Any advice?
Your suppose to do it on a nice, cool, and dry headlight. Never do it in direct sun either do it at night.
Also a Clean headlight too of course.
Still working doing auto reviews ?
I haven’t done any auto review work since the pandemic hit. That may change soon. Shooting and editing video takes a ton of time. I’ve been focused on keeping the bills paid.
@@mpgomatic I hear that. I remember when you started doing reviews for companies as well is why I asked

it didn't work for me
