THANKS so much for this video! I had to search MUCH harder than I should have to find the simple, "wheel wiggle" test. I just couldn't remember which meant what! Great info, great reminder. Thanks again!
Is it best to have both wheels off the ground or can you do one at a time? I have a little side to side play on both front wheels. Its tight up and down though. No movement there.
Not sure if you'll see this but it's worth a shot. When I drive my vehicle, for about the first 5 minutes on the road there seems to be a minor slip in my steering wheel when I turn it either direction. After driving it a bit, the steering seems to be normal and the slipping disappears. Very rarely when I drive on the interstate the steering wheel shakes, but like I said that rarely happens. Just had new tires put on less than 2 weeks ago, and had the same problem before and after the tire replacement.
This is another sign that the power steering is failing. Other causes of power steering failure apart from leakage include faulty pumps, worn steering rack mounts and loose or worn steering belts.
Aha! Thanks for the info, hopefully I get through another week before I can make it up to the parents and have the handy step dad take a peak 😂! Thank you!
If u have a wobble left and right is it the inner and outer tie rods? i l also hear like a noise or small clunk from the rack so no play going up and down just left and right?
Hope you get this I have a question . My car does the wobble when u grab it from the sides on both front wheels also when I'm driving & I decelerate either manually by slightly releasing gas pedal or naturally like if I'm turning or going up hill it wobbles. So today I went to mechanic they told me it was the rack & pinion so I said I'll get back to them. My question is can that be the reason for the wobble? Reason I asked is because I looked up rack & pinion & the article I read 1 said it can cost up to $2000 for parts & labor but also it didnt mention nothing that that causes a wobble. So I Googled why does my tire wobble & it gave me the same reason as u that's when I found your video just to verify visual that it had the same issue & looks like it is what u said. But I'd theres a chance it could be rack & pinion I'd like know

It could be the Inner and outer both. If it's a front wheel drive the clunk could be in the CV shaft
