We all know this is an impossible list to make because this should be a top 1000 list! There are so many amazing songs and riffs out there!!! I sat around for several days adding and removing songs to the list. Then I just decided that I would make a bunch of these videos instead. So this is PART 1. Not many old-school bands are included (like Cathedral, Pentagram, Candlemass, St Vitus) because I will make a separate video about them.

great choices, Funeralopolis is THE quintessential doom riff for me and if you asked me to play a doom riff it's the one that would come to mind for sure

@@dickvalentinesillegitimate1059 not at all. You just need to practice enough to where your hand gets secure enough to allow you to play it solid from beginning to end, because of the constant movement. It’s all power chords

I mean it's all a matter of opinion as to what an actual list like top 15 should/would be but yeah, soon as dude reminded me of and started right off the bat with that High On Fire riff I was like F**K YEAAAH!!! Bc I always thought that was Pike's sickest riff of either band, Sleep OR HOF.

I saw them live many, many years ago, i think when they were touring the "a senile animal" album. They had 2 drummers live playing 2 different kits!!! It was the most badass thing i had ever seen.🤘I think that gig influenced my future musical tastes greatly.

@@DoomTones - May I ask what guitar you are playing? I tried enlarging the video and examining the headstock, but I can’t quite recognize it. I like your oddly square-yet-wavy pickguard in particular, and that’s a lovely shade of blue. It reminds me of Italian art deco, and of mass-produced Italian guitars of the 1960s, which were sold through catalogs at the time but are now highly coveted collectors items. Is it maybe an Eastwood clone of a vintage Eko or something? Many thanks for the upload, whether or not you’re able to reply!

I see my favs like Acid Bath, Crowbar and the Melvins. I have to stop sleeping on these other bands. Is it just me or have you ever noticed that History of Bad Men and Night Goat are a variation of the same riff. Filth Pig by Ministry is the same riff also.. I love it.

I'm new to this channel but I love it. Doom metal in every form is the best form of metal ever. If you don't have a video about it, can you do a rig run down.
I almost always use the orange cr120, if not i just run dirt pedals into the audio interface. Every video usually has the signal chain explained, in the descrition.

This guitar is by far the best sounding guitar i have, the wilkinson humbuckers are amazing! i got this one from a friend like 15 years ago. It spent 10 years in storage, until i restorded it, and it proceeded to blow my mind!!!!🤘 p.s. im making a separate old shool doom bands video. candlemass will be on there for sure!
