I appreciate what you are doing here for the rest of us! Your information is great. Thank you. (Even if it is paid, its information we all need and you present it in a clear way.)
Great video. I am a bookkeeper that has a few very small clients on my Desktop QB's that will be going away. My clients do not have feeds, do not have customers. Just deposits into income and checks and a credit card transactions. Ledger seems pefect for them. If I am understanding the presentaton My client would be the Admin, the CPA and myself would be users?
Would this be a good product for keeping track of a personal budget for a client? Is there a better product suited for personally budgeting that you would recommend?
Its $10/m so if there isn’t a specialized option at that price point, you can certainly use QB Ledger for that. But it works like an business accounting software
if your client is setup as a Master Admin (look in the Users section) - then they should be able to login with that email and choose their company file after loggin in
Great video. Loved the content. I do have a question. When you invite the client into the QB Ledger, does that give them the opportunity to add the bank account information, or do we have to, as the accountant, add their bank information?
As we avoid "bill firm" I had a client ask if we could sign them up and use their credit card for payment. I expect, at the very least, this is grossly frowned upon, although I'm not finding documentation that it's prohibited - wondering if the credit card would be saved as a "firm card" for future billings. Thoughts on all this?
LEDGER is only for accountants firm billed. Clients can only direct pay Simple Start and up. Whatever card you use, becomes the one single card that pays for all ledger accountants
Hi, Hector. I always enjoy your videos! Will you please comment on what lists are available in QB Ledger (classes, etc)? Also I am having some trouble thinking about how to use the platform for business clients if they need to track income by customer (which drove the question regarding whether class tracking is available). Thanks!
No classes, locations, or customers. Only Vendors and employees (if payroll is added) For clients that need to track customers, you need Simple Start and above
I have been giving QB feed back for this for a long time! Is the easiest way to move my client from Simple to this to export to excel and upload to Ledger?
There is no easy way. I have not done it yet, because its potentially so much work. But, in theory, moving your QBO Simple into QB desktop… then from Desktop to Ledger, could would, in theory
Thank you for this tutorial, Hector! I'm not clear on whether I can attach/download receipts in Ledger. In the comparison with Simple Start, you said that attaching/downloading receipts is only available in Simple Start, but later in the video you said that the client can do so in Ledger. Can you please clarify? Thank you!
If I add my client as the administrator, can I also add the CPA so they can review the books at year end? This is the only downside to me converting a couple of my clients.. Or should I (and can I) skip adding the client as administrator and add the CPA instead?
Is this a brand new plan Hector? I signed up for qbo simple start earlier this year but it has features that I'll never use. Is this something I can downgrade to and will it affect my current data?
On 7/11 I had a Pro Advisor from QBO support tell me that ledger would be free, no longer $10/mo, starting 8/1/2024. I cannot find this anywhere else. Another support person just told me they have never heard of this. When the pro advisor told me that. I told her I couldn't believe it. She read it to me from the weekly email she gets from QB with news and changes. She told me she actually had gotten a refund from QB for someone she had just put on ledger. Has anyone else heard of this? We probably spent 10 minutes talking about this so I know I didn't misunderstand her.
Check out QuickBooks Ledger: intuit.me/qbledger (This is a paid partnership with Intuit)

Most of the stuff is free
As always you rock! I absolutely love all your videos.
Nicely done, Hector!
:)
Excellent tutorial
Glad you think so!

Yes, but YOU pay the $10/m
Very will explained between QuickBooks Ledger and QuickBooks Simple Start
Glad you found it useful
This tutorial was awesome
Great! Glad its helpful
We need this in Spanish and QuickBooks in Spanish! I teach small business. We need more Spanish assistance!
❤❤❤ great product!!
I dont have it in spanish :(
Are we able to stop their subscription if we don't make ourselves (the Proadvisors) the admin on the account?

Fantastic review😊
Can we reconcile the bank accounts and CC like QBO ?
Yes you can!
How can you enter A/R balances if QBO ledger does not allow to add customers?
In theory you just cant… its not meant to do that
@@HectorGarciaCPA How can you do a balance sheet and file a tax return without an A/R balance by the end of the year if you are accrual basis?
I have a client with two companies, and added them into Ledger. How do I direct them to log into the Ledger account - they used the same email address
if your client is setup as a Master Admin (look in the Users section) - then they should be able to login with that email and choose their company file after loggin in
@@HectorGarciaCPA thanks for the quick reply and thanks for this wonderful video (as per usual!)

@@HectorGarciaCPA thank you. I guess no tags either in QB Ledger?

Yes you can attach receipts

You can add the CPA as an external accountant, and you dont need to make your customers the Admin
Can we create a TEST client to learn more about Ledger
You will pay $10/m for that, no free trial
Great review. Thanks!
:)
Does Quickbooks Ledger integrate with ADP Run so that payroll transaction AJEs can be automated?
Yes, you can push journals via the API (such as with ADP)
Do clients have full access or just QBOA? How to share file with CPA to file taxes? With desktop I send a portable file.
Clients can get full access (except billing)
Is this a brand new plan Hector? I signed up for qbo simple start earlier this year but it has features that I'll never use. Is this something I can downgrade to and will it affect my current data?
No downgrading on this one
nice, we need Gusto payroll tutorial, please
Not my area of expertise
Are classes and/or locations available in QB Ledger?
No. That would be QBO Plus only
I have high transaction clients that are annual - is there a transaction limit?
I have not bumped against one.
Can I use Qb ledger for daily sales in a retail store.
You cant track high levels of details in the income side unfortunately
Can I downgrade a client from Simple Start to Ledger?
No :(
Is possible downgrade client to quickbook ledger?
Not possible

Not true.. Ledger will never be free, why would they even do that? It’s nonsense
@@HectorGarciaCPA I agree. I just hate the misinformation .
Hello! Price & How do i get registered?
Is $10/m for QB ledger. I explain on the video how to do it… you need to get it via your QB Online Accountant portal.
