This video wasmade on August 2021 and is a reflection of the EY tour that was done with #nexxworks in November 2019 to China. EY visited them together with many global customers from the utility and mobility industry. We visited large companies such as BYD, Didi, #ByteDance, #Huawei, but also organisations such as the World Economic Forum and the World Resource Institute; as well as Shenzhen government and State Grid in Beijing; and many startups and accelerators such as #SZOIL, #HAX, #Ingdan, #evoke and #neolix.
7 main take-aways:
1. Chinese innovation is the new normal
2. eMobility isn't coming, it is already in China
3. Industries are rapidly converging
4. Central planning as an accelerator
5. Collaboration is key to transformation
6. Experimentation as a strategy
7. Disruptive technology are undermining all (Data, AI, not, 5G,...)

If you believe China is a peaceful and progressive country, raise your hand 👍🙋🏻♂️✋

Having been living in China now for over 5 years, it has been amazing to watch the growth of electric cars here!! The growth is amazing to see. A friend of mine has just bought a new electric car, and it is a fantastic product!!
Thanks for sharing!
At these prices I will wait until hell freezes over.
@@wnklee6878 don't be silly, the Chinese EVs are very reasonably priced.
Asian man beat 🤔

Greatly enjoy content where you speak with actual players in the industry. You are in a unique position to have the network and platform to share with the world. Keep going Pascal!
Thanks! Will keep at it!
I believe they are leading the world in the number of patents... Obviously they will surge ahead faster than other countries.
Another excellent video from Pascal.
Thank you so much 👍
BYD's "blade" battery is also much safer than Tesla's battery, which burst into flames when penetrated by a needle, whereas BYD's "blade" battery doesn't explode when penetrated.
U.S is an automobile nation and gas-guzzling cars are the primary mode of transportation. Transitioning from fossil fuels to electric vehicles faces obstacles such as established gas infrastructure such numerous gas stations, and no doubt the big U.S petrol companies seek to hinder the establishment of EV infrastructure. In China, the government is able to exert control to promote the development of EV infrastructure.
Thanks for this video that will help people know the truth about China, not from reading fake news all over The West countries.
Contrasts with the approach that the American government takes. Very refreshing!
Global cooperation is always way better than decoupling. Thanks for introducing smart business sense from East to West and vice versa.
NIO's battery swap infrastructure is another game changer. NIO has entered Europe and will be huge in about 5 to 7 years. NIO will take out Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz. NIO will be the leader in luxury EV.
I visited NIOs showroom in Oslo last month, and I agree this could be a game changer. I fell in love with NIOs ET7.
Great episode. Actions that you do to bring about more appreciation between countries' executives on the ground will reap benefits and cut through prejudices, misinformation and misunderstanding all around. This will make a difference.
Thanks!
Love the episode to show the positive impact of global learning and cooperation. This is the true meaning of globalization.
as always, great level video about China, thumbs up !, thanks for it share Pascal
Love the content. Can you cover modern Chinese architecture that uses older styles in one of your future videos?
Not an expert in architecture, but I could do a video about 国潮 guochao and add architecture influence in there.
@@PascalCoppens looking forward to it, thanks.
amazing
Thank you!
Just open our eyes and learn from China. We can all learn something there.
Excellent vlog !
Thumbs up
Thanks from Australia 🥰
Thanks for watching!
Hello~Pascal, love i~ this is pro . goodbye!~
Thanks again
My pleasure
i like this episode
Thanks!
Hearing the push of EVs there, I have been wondering if the EVs will be used for solar power and wind power storage. I am glad this video answered my question.
I hope Canada will adapte the same strategy as we have hell amount of open field parking lots in business parks and detached houses.
I hope so too
Good job
Thanks
🥰🥰🥰
Awesome. A video explaining how they will save the 1 billion, how it will work would be great.
Sure. I will check for you.
@@PascalCoppens Doing a great job!!!! Love your channel...

Always enjoyed your video. For this one, background music is too loud. For old people with hearing problems, makes very hard to hear the actual conversation.
I don't disagree. Sorry for that
blade batteries is old news now, these days China is working on Solid State Batteries and Structural Batteries. you should check those out.
I am. Thanks!
I would like to watch your video but the background music is so loud that I can't focus on what the person speaking is saying. It is very frustrating.
Thanks for letting me know. Will take into account next time. What you can do is put closed caption on and no sound.
Great video
Could you do one on nuclear buildup in china ? Thanks
Do you mean powerplants or arms race?
Power plants thanks
Can do a video about younger ev company in China.
Which ones are you thinking about?
@@PascalCoppens Hi thanks for the reply was thinking about the newer ev player in the market that recently went public during the covid era for example like: NIO, Li auto and Xpeng vs BYD
yiu
A very poor heading for the video. Please explain what “EY” means.
Ernst & Young. I thought the brand is well known.
Shame China is now shut to travel-virtual contacts are possible and only option at the moment. As long as the CCP keep zero covid then physical trips will not be possible!
unfortunately. I normally do 4-5 trips like these per year. But it has been 2,5 years now.
@@PascalCoppens Yep that is the issue as new personal contacts are not made and previous ones are lost. Humans still like the face to face meetings in Business. Vietnam, S. Korea, Indonesia and Thailand will gain at China's expense!
Simon, you sound like a douchebag. China government does thing to help its citizens not doing things because a foreigner is displeased because he can't visit China. Throw away your higher than thou attitude.
Too much music especially when people are speaking - too loud!
Agree. Sorry for that
