drone propeller install and how to install your drone propellers correctly
some general text / info:
Props are designed to produce maximum thrust when turning in only a single direction. Quadcopters are equipped with two sets of two different props: one set of “clockwise” (CW) props which rotate like a clock, and another set of “counter-clockwise” (CCW) props. Normally when you buy props for quadcopters, you receive a full set of 2 CW and 2 CCW props.
You can determine the direction of a prop in one of several ways. Most props have labels on them that look something like “5045” and “5045R”. When labeled like so, the “R” stands for CCW while the lack of an R means the prop is a CW prop.
The better way to determine the intended direction of a prop is to find its leading edge. The leading edge of a propeller blade is the side of the blade that is raised above the other side with a slight concave curve underneath it. All props have this, whether or not they are labeled, so learning to recognize it pays off.
PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION - if you want to run motors in 'reverse' you need props out, just reverse the install, so the props slope out
If you own the BetaFPV Meteor85 for example. Rear motors are ran in reverse so prop slope out..front of the quad the motors are NOT ran in reverse so install per video. Thanks for this helped me!
You are a true blessing in being able to explain in less than 3 minutes the exact same thing that others actually take 9 or more minutes to explain. Thumbs up for this gem of a video, that every beginner and maybe even some advanced droners need to view. This is exactly what I was looking for and something I know I'll never forget. Big thanks!
thank you mate! really appreciate that enjoy your flyin!
More time more $$$
I've been flying for about 7-8mo and this actually helps, thanks!!
I always mess it up lol
its one of those things that should be simple, you're not alone I think everyone gets it wrong at somepoint! thanks for the sub
Thank you for making it so simple to remember props down towards quad. That stuck instantly and helped me sort the pack of props I just got while I eagerly wait forever for my first FPV drone to arrive. . Props to you ;)
its a nice easy way to premember - if props out (motors reversed) props slope out instead.
OMG this has been the easiest and the greatest life saver i had...thank you
It works both ways facing towards ou backwards. Great video. Thanks.
Glad it helped
To this day... The best video ever made. So easy to learn and remember.
Wow...thank you. Much easier then remembering hooks out
oh my god. I bought an fpv, and I was flying my fpv for few days, and now sitting at pc o notice that my propellers are not all the same direction, straight I went to google and found your video, and I see now that I randomly put them correct :D. btw thanks for the easy-to-remember tip!
MVP right here. Thanks!!
that is hella simple explanation, thanks!
Big thumbs up for making this short and easy. Lol I used to Build Drones and don’t ask me why but I’ve somehow forgot and I’ve been going crazy all morning trying to understand what the hell people were saying until I reached yours ... Lol..and bing bang boom done . . Yahoo....thank you
props out is good
thank you! top tip!!
Just started Flying And I got scared when I crashed and forgot to Unarm, luckily my props are good but it made me realize there will be a time I need to replace them. And I wouldn’t know how until today thanks man👌
Cheers
Thank you so much!! This helped a lot!!
You're welcome!
Game changer! Thanks.
Mine are the complete opposite… it depends which way motors spin
Thank you your a life saver
Thanks man!
no worries
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO I'VE SEEN TO PUT ON
PROPS. Thank You
thanks mate glad it helps out, remember to hit that subscribe!
Would it not matter which way your motors are spinning? So the rule about the prop going down towards the drone is not correct? My motors spin inwards towards the center of the drone.
I have the same question
Seems like if they spin inwards this will push the drone down not lift it up

Thank you very helpful
no worries man, thanks
Thank you sir you are a life saver do you have any more videos about how to fix and operate fpv racing drones
This helps
Holyshit... thank you!!

Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
Thank YOU!
no worries, thanks
Outstanding video
Glad you liked it, thanks
Note: this setup is for PROPS IN ONLY
super helpful video, the first time i installed my props and tried flying babyhawk o3 it just stayed there and went no where, i had props backward looked for videos but they were not clear for me, this video is super simple and straight to the point, Thank you good Sir! ✌
Just bought a crux35(I have not received it yet it's on its way here) but if I am not mistaken I think I heard you say in a video that for that drone is props out right?
thank you
Good tip.
Glad it was helpful!
How far does the screws have to be ? Bc on my drone I got my first one it just leave a bit to put the screw on is that good or no ? M5 self-locking nut and 4032 3-blade Props
Hi - I've never really measured it! - if you stick a prop on and a nut tighten the nut, the nut should tighten all the way so you see a small bit of the prop thread at the top... hope that helps?
all the props are facing in like yours but mine just sits there completely still with the throttle up
Does it matter the with of the blades them self my drone came with some pretty wide ones and o got some new 5 inch props but the blade are a lot skinnier what effect will it have ?
I bought an iflight titan xl5 hd and installed the props as shown in this video and my drone wouldn't take off. It was the exact opposite of how they were supposed to be. My props needed to be high side of the blade towards the drone. Not sure why mine was the exact opposite but it was. Lol
props out - I did sort of explain in the description, tried to
Hi! Do you have any idea why when I start my drone my drone starts standing and "reversing", the front facing the sky. Is this something to do with the propeller arrangement?
My Nazgul5 v2 turns exactly in the opposit direction.
So is that for props in or out set up?
its props in - I know I know I should of pointed that out .... it was an early vid for me... I fluff it sometime lol.
I just unboxed my Geprc and installed the propellers but I did it wrong as I can see now. I come from DJI FPV so the installation was totally different. The point now I unscrew the top to take them off but it seems like they are all stuck in there, almost like the hole in props it’s smaller that the bar of motor going thru it. It went in super smoothly I didn’t break anything but I’m affraid to touch it now to not break anything lol. Any suggestions? Please 🙏
why do you run props in? Always thought props out is better for signal interference
I dnt understand,my props are on right and motors are spinning in the right direction but it just spins on the spot
The right way up?
I am buying props but I can't seem to find a 3 blade that has the center post hole as well as the other 2 to secure it in place. Is this just because my motor isn't built for three blades? I am very confused as to why I can't find any 3 bladed props with a center post then two mounting holes. Any help is appreciated as I am brand new to this hobby.
what are you talking about? - what quad you got - all the props I have ever used for fpv just have the one hole as shown in the vid? - spec the drone or motor please that you are talking about to help out.
My quad seems to be the exact opposite.
cool but the nut part is missing.
ok but how do the screws go
For anyone reading this please never buy a tiny whoop it’s so absolutely frustrating getting the props off it makes me livid
My fingers get mauled to shreds while I tear the paint off my motors
Just don’t buy a tiny whoop it’s so aggravating
This is the most weird explanation I've seen in all the years I've flown quads
I'm more worried that you still need to watch prop installation vids lol... I tried to explain it in the most simplest easiest way to remember.
@@Datfpv yeah, that is a little worrisome
i run props out you ruined my life
Me too dude..wth
I have the props on the correct way and when I give it throw up it flipped out like a backflip in the air
if the props are on correctly, have you made sure you have the motors spining the correct direction? - you also may have a props out set-up, reverse the props so they slope out
@@Datfpv I have all the props facing in towards the drone and when I try to give it all up it just jerks to the side and doesn’t go up
And I have the back ones spinning clockwise
yes - but do you have a props out dron set up .... try props out, just reverse my prop ionstall, so both props slope out....... or plug it into betaflight and look at the motor direction - that will tell you, without doing it for you this is what it will be, prop direction or motor direction....
@@Datfpv I put the rear motors clockwise so the front motors are going counterclockwise so how would the props need to go on with the slope need to be facing out or facing towards the drone on the rear and then the slope going out on the front on the counter clockwise ones I have props facing down towards the drone on off for props
@@Datfpv and reverse which one’s the front or the back or both of them reversed I have all four of them going in towards the drone do I need a reverse the back or the front
Thank you your a life saver
Thanks man 😁
no problem
