Next few videos - taking delivery of my new Range Rover, wrapping my Range Rover satin black, adding an exhaust to my Range Rover, someone stole my Range Rover
Gutted for you mate I bought a re sport hybrid and it got taken from my house by relay theft. I went out and bought an SVR to insure that they wanted 6000 they won’t be taking this one though I have turned off the keyless entry and fitted a ghost immobilisation unit a good steering lock and block it in my drive with my van. Also to mess with their heads I keep the key from my stolen one by the door. if they come with their relay kit they will pick up a signal but won’t open my car 😂
I got a quote via Land Rover direct and quoted £6k per annum. Was cheaper via Admiral for £5k per annum. 12 years NCD, no accidents, garaged, etc… so cancelled my order unfortunately….
I was really pleased to see this video as I own the new Range Rover and have struggled to get insurance, currently paying way too much at £8,000 per annum, so went online this morning to Land Rover Insurance only to be told they can’t offer me anything !!! Think you need to investigate this more and let us know how you get on. When completing the quote they don’t even ask if you have any additional security fitted to the vehicle!!! I’ve been a RR owner for over 10 yrs but think it’s time to change
Just tried to get a quote on LR’s website for my Velar I reluctantly (but luckily) sold 6 months ago due to insurance: “SORRY, WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A QUOTE FOR YOUR LAND ROVER.”
everything about jlr is joke , i have try another products from wrisck the some company that providing insurance for jlr is no working and i call them over the phone and they said is the under writing requirement 😀😀😀 imagine i am kirkwall resident
JLR have ignored this problem of their cars being targeted since before 2012 when i bought my second new RRS. All JLR would say is that their security conforms to Thatchams category 1 recommendations so as far as we are concerned, then we don't need to do anymore. Personally i think that they were thinking if your Range Rover gets stolen, then you will be back to buy another one so that is another sale for us. But this attitude has now caught up with them and i personally think it serves them right that they are now losing very high numbers of potential sales. I just feel sorry for current owners who are worried and are struggling to even get an insurance quotation now. Well done JLR 👏👏👏 Your ignorance has finally come back to bite you.
Can you remember the Land Rover Freelander? That was the easiest car to steal at the time, and therefore was the most stolen car in the UK at one point. There is precedent for LR/RR selling cars that are easily stolen.
Great video. I got a 2022 C8 RS6 recently. Despite coming from a 2021 RS5 (and previous to that a C7 RS6 which I did over 100,000 miles in), I was getting crazy quotes and some refusals (something never experienced in my errr 35 years of driving). Since I had the 5 day complementary Audi insurance I thought I would give them a try (with not much hope as they have never been competitive in the past). Well - on condition of a tracker (the car had a tracker, but I paid for and had fitted a much better one), I got fully comp for under £1000 / year (on a RS6 at nearly £98,000). Next nearest quote was more than double this. So I think manufacturers of these sort of "desirable" (higher risk ) are getting insurance sorted (at last!). Mark.
The new insurance isn’t actually out yet. I just tried to get a quote on the JLR website for my F Pace SVR and it couldn’t provide a quote. I’ve checked on X/Twitter and other have the same issue… JLR’s response appears to be that they are still working on an insurance solution, so it seems their press releases might have been a bit of a marketing ploy and somewhat premature. Otherwise, a great video (as ever) 🎉
There are rumours that JLR have gone into partnership with some insurance companies and keep recommending them to jaguar and range rover owners. The problem is that even those insurance companies are asking for an arm and a leg which favours them both as the profit is split between the dealership and the insurance company. If JLR weren't making money out of this they could stop these theft within a week by replacing the ignition modules. They simply don't want to. I lost 15 grand in 15 months.
I just went on Compare the market and got lots of quote; circa 20. The best was neigh on identical to what I currently pay £950 pa with Admiral for a multi car policy that includes McLaren and Ferrari…. Mind you I do live out in the sticks, have 22 years NCP and no speeding tickets…
Love your channel lad. But I think people are now realising that £200,000 or more is obscene. I can’t afford to pay my normal bills. I’m a truck driver. I can’t afford to put my heating on.
If you live in a particularly high risk area they still won’t insure. Sadly most owners of these cars have their priorities all wrong and don’t bother with good old fashioned additional security and physical deterrents but would rather wrap it, put on an even fruitier exhaust instead.
Same issue with mine. I called up JLR “ apologies it’s our underwriters we can’t help you” I honestly went crazy. What do I do with a car that I bought for 63k in 2022? I haven’t touched it for months… what the F?
It’s a sad state of affairs.and i love range rovers and the old defender, im looking at getting my 3rd Range Rover this year but second hand as always. I find it funny people who own and mostly use them in London and other big cities but you be you. Personally im lucky to live around one of are national parks in the north, where im lucky to use 4x4 capability’s fairly regularly. But it is sad that LR have abandoned a big part of there heritage to chase after soley high value premium sector.key test look at what farmers use not many at all use any of the new LR range the nearest is the old defender witch to me is still the most practical defender and believe it or not reliable and will last forever if looked after. Lucky the insurance issue hasn’t effected me mostly I don’t buy anything more than 30k and own out right and the benefits of that owning around a 5-7year old car that’s done around 50-80k is its done most of the depreciation and still has a long life ahead of it, if cared for.
I’ll just stick to my Clanky old 2008 Range Rover sport TDV8 . Yeah the tools and trolley jack may have to come out every so often but so what . Rather that than pay loads in tax / lease agreements or finance . Id only have one if the business paid for it , including the fuel and insurance.
Hi Archie great video. However could you ask your contacts at Land Rover , whilst great now offering insurance why their premiums are higher than ones I can get off main stream brokers for my new RRS ? Surely if the CEO who stated the new models are rarely being stolen ,why is this not reflected in their insurance ?
Archie Hamilton Racing Great Video I'm glad Range Rover now has their own insurance to help resolve the theft problems and Merry Belated Christmas to you your family and all of your Subscribers
Mate they are telling porky pies. as of today 3rd Jan 2024 i tried to get a quote for a RRS HST 400P with Landrover and they would not quote for it . Also I found a quote on the compare sites of £920 PY for myself as a 57 old man with no convictions, claims etc living rural away from big cities.
It’s all hideous and disgusting! Ordinary people on finance fool themselves into facing annual depreciation of £40-50k or even more when they can’t insure these hideous vans! Just get a fifteen year old proper Range Rover if you want one!
Joke of a video, basically saying to get round the ongoing problem of it being stolen is to sell your existing RR at a massive loss and buy a new model because LR have rectified something they got horrendously wrong in the first place and did nothing about it. LR insurance had to change they’re stance to help sales, be interesting to see how long this generosity lasts if it exists at all. Joke of a company.
Range rovers are absolute horseshit.. Land Rover stopped insuring them themselves a while back.... imagine being that shite you need to bring out your own insurance...
Next few videos - taking delivery of my new Range Rover, wrapping my Range Rover satin black, adding an exhaust to my Range Rover, someone stole my Range Rover
Looking forward to watching your video's then.
haha! Man speak the truth. Ye must having be a long term subscriber. Already did the Range Rover churn to death and back at it again. Got to love it.
Sold my svr due to insurance went from £700 to £5200!! Lost £21k in 9 months when I sold it!! I’m a little reluctant to go near JLR ever again!
Gutted for you mate I bought a re sport hybrid and it got taken from my house by relay theft. I went out and bought an SVR to insure that they wanted 6000 they won’t be taking this one though

….your failure tbh. There are proper insurance alternatives, now even from JLR directly….🤷🏻♂️
Slight drop yeah they sunk like the titanic, you would need your head tested to buy a new one
I got a quote via Land Rover direct and quoted £6k per annum. Was cheaper via Admiral for £5k per annum. 12 years NCD, no accidents, garaged, etc… so cancelled my order unfortunately….

yeah same - I cant even get renewed this year - JLR cant offer me a quote
JLRwill not even quote me on 2017 evogue in essex 😢
"nothing to do with the cars"
Maybe make them harder to steal
Just tried to get a quote on LR’s website for my Velar I reluctantly (but luckily) sold 6 months ago due to insurance: “SORRY, WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A QUOTE FOR YOUR LAND ROVER.”
Unfortunately it still doesn’t work if you live in central London, 12yrs no claims etc and get a no quote from Land Rover Insurance
everything about jlr is joke , i have try another products from wrisck the some company that providing insurance for jlr is no working and i call them over the phone and they said is the under writing requirement 😀😀😀 imagine i am kirkwall resident

Couldn't get one either for my RR Autobiography. Waited 18 months and they now have to relist the car.
Thank you for this video I currently drive a 1998 Nissan micra 1.0 and I'm thinking of upgrading to a Range Rover sport SVR

I’ve had nothing but problems with mine owned it 2 years. The WORST customer service I’ve ever had shocking experience with landrover 😡
paired with the 2 security recalls it's another good step to resolving the problem

Can’t get a quote on a brand new RR Sport on the new Land Rover Insurance website. Hoping this is going to be fixed soon…
the first Range Rover cost £1975.00 - £200,000 - madness
If you live in a particularly high risk area they still won’t insure. Sadly most owners of these cars have their priorities all wrong and don’t bother with good old fashioned additional security and physical deterrents but would rather wrap it, put on an even fruitier exhaust instead.
I am in Texas and still an 8-10 month wait once ordered.
Plenty of stories coming out that they won't insure their own cars 😂
I have tried the Land rover insurance and they wouldn't give me quotation. I have gone with SAGA for my R/R Sport 2018
Nope !!! Won’t offer insurance quotes for most RR’s including mine. 37 living in a decent part of Cheshire
Additional security? Bollards?
Same issue with mine. I called up JLR “ apologies it’s our underwriters we can’t help you” I honestly went crazy. What do I do with a car that I bought for 63k in 2022? I haven’t touched it for months… what the F?

Must say that blue range rover was lovely see ya soon merry Christmas 🎅 🎉
I used to work for them driven every model…And I still wouldn’t have one, but each to their own
Surprised you’re still going ahead given their massive depreciation - no zero cost motoring anymore - finally back to the old days.
Archie there was talk of fitting a ghost immobiliser canceled the Range Rover warranty can you update that?
“It’s nothing to do with the cars “ Really it’s everything to do with the cars !!!! What a joke
You should really check before posting that the insurance is up and running it looks like nothing is being quoted at the moment by JLR insurance.
I’ll just stick to my Clanky old 2008 Range Rover sport TDV8 . Yeah the tools and trolley jack may have to come out every so often but so what .
Rather that than pay loads in tax / lease agreements or finance .

Just because they offer insurance it isn’t going to stop them getting stolen

The car thieves favourite car!
Velocity Blue looks awesome 😊
Next they only need to improve the reliability that’s all
Archie Hamilton Racing Great Video I'm glad Range Rover now has their own insurance to help resolve the theft problems and Merry Belated Christmas to you your family and all of your Subscribers
That's an exciting news

Still can’t get insurance
What do you mean "it's nothing to do with the car?" It's everything to do with the car - the security aspect is 💩
100% you don’t or can’t insure with Land Rover insurance
Getting a bit bored now of car vertical
an average cost of £2400 a year to insure your RR?!! 🤣🤣🤣
It’s all hideous and disgusting! Ordinary people on finance fool themselves into facing annual depreciation of £40-50k or even more when they can’t insure these hideous vans! Just get a fifteen year old proper Range Rover if you want one!
Archie great video brother where is that velocity blue one being sold as if it’s a petrol might be interested
Range Rovers very much over priced.
Compared to what? A Honda Civic? Explain your comment.
Thank god it will now have a BMW engine. Great looking cars.
Yeah, can't get a quote at all. Not great.
just got a insurance quote for a 60k range rover SVR
, cheapest esure £960 ................

Yeah suspect they only choosing to provide insurance for certain areas and people for that matter.
So glad I don’t live anywhere near London
"Odour meter" 😅😅😅
The fact you’d didn’t title this video ‘Good news’ is very disappointing.
Range rovers are absolute horseshit.. Land Rover stopped insuring them themselves a while back.... imagine being that shite you need to bring out your own insurance...
London Natives why have you sold your your culture and country to people who do not respect it???????
