The nice airbrush cammo most people paint is probably the most unrealistic application of it, usually the crews would just use mops or old rags or whatever to paint cammo pattern on their tanks, so your MK4 Panzer is more authentic than the showroom cammo most people paint on their tanks.
Very nice! These smaller ones can be a chore to paint but you did a great job. Personally I would have used stencils with an Airbrush for the Markings and just free hand airbrushed the camo, going Brush for these is old school and I love it ;)
Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil, the secret weapons of the average painter .. which includes me. ;) Do you use brush soap to clean the brush? My daughter told me to do so and it works pretty good. I bought all the dice, because of the transfer sheets for the tanks.
As a teenager, I had an unlikely convoy of Tamiya German vehicles on my bedroom shelf. A King Tiger, a Hanomag, a 222 Armoured Car and a Kubelwagon. My, they were painted horribly (the tank was a disgrace - done in Humbrol enamels - not thinned!). Wish I knew then what I know now (thanks RUclips). Took me right back watching you paint some Tanks. 4 years ago my camera and I spent many hours at the wonderful Bovington Tank Museum in Southern England. Tanks are pretty rough in reality, so this tutorial is spot on for the scale. If I could hand-paint US stars (at that scale), well - I'd be on RUclips I suppose.
@@EsotericOrderGamers To say they were thick (and we were ignorant of thinner) is an understatement. The discovery of acrylics as we passed beyond Airfix Me109s and Revell battleships was a real epiphany. Airbrushes? The idea you could paint model kits with them was too 'esoteric' for me in the 70s/80s. All I've got to do is renovate pretty much the whole house and then I can paint some of my (many) miniatures, scenery and kits. The loft is bursting with pretty boxes, begging for unboxings galore.....

Would you be so kind to make a video on how each tank should correctly look - I have purchased the stickers for starter box 4 and all 4 in wave 1 expansion but no idea where to place the stickers. I have been in contact with 3 others who are looking for the same info as me, so jump on the gun lol
I was thinking of going for the same design for the camo Panzer tank, but I was going to use winter colors such as green, white, light gray, yellow, and light brown. Do you think that would look cool? Only the base color would really change.
Did I give you some pleasure to leave such a belittling comment? Here's another maxim for you: if you have nothing useful to contribute, don't say anything at all.
That Q-tip technique for the camouflage turned out great. Will have to keep that in mind if I ever get into historicals.

Huh, there you go, thanks for that. I didn't know how it was originally applied.
You could hear up and bend up the fenders !
Great work, simple yet effective. Probably one of the quickest but detailed tutorials I've seen yet!
Thanks Scott, appreciate that!
Nice technique and impressive job, love the beautiful camo work...
Cheers Phil. On reflection I'm not sure if brushwork wouldn't have had the same effect at this scale, but it was a different technique to try.
Spray with dull coat to seal the powder!

Love this! Tanks are awesome!
Amazing tutorial, thank you very much
No worries, have fun
awesome definitely gone paint my company of heroes minis using the techniques
Glad I could help!
Damn that sherman looks great
The games workshop paint method works well. Basecoat, highlights and wash. I add artist chalk dust too. Best and fastest ways to field numbers.
Err, basecoat, wash, highlight was a method long, long before GW built it into their paint system!
So when is the battle report comming out? :)

The secret weapons of ALL painters! Yes I do, but I'm very lazy and don't use it as much as I should.

Thankyou for that lovely little glimpse into your memories, I enjoyed it. Ahh, the old Humbrol enamels, that takes me back!

Wow! Looks great!! Thanks for the Video!! 🤩
Will there be any battle report for the game?
Not at this stage - I'd really need a few more tanks to make an interesting battle report, and I haven't yet got around to increasing my forces.
@@EsotericOrderGamers ah what a Shame, just bought the starter Set and hoped there would be some advice..^^

@@EsotericOrderGamers I'll have a look. Thank you!
fortunately i do have the rules from the Starter Set :)
Many thanks for the tutorial. Same problem for me.....eyesight. Where did you get the great glasses with lights?
On TradeMe, the NZ equivalent of Ebay. They're pretty cheap. I never use the light part.

Sorry Wayne, I'm no tank expert - you'll get exactly the same results from a Google search as me in this regard! :)

Sounds fine to me - do whatever YOU think looks cool! :)
@@EsotericOrderGamers Thanks! I have a camoflauge similar to this in the computer game: World of Tanks Blitz.
I cannot get my decals to come lose from the damn paper lol 🤦🏼
What colors did you use on the T-34 Soviet tank? The same as the Sherman?
Sorry mate, this was a LONG time ago now!
Do the tanks you can buy separately come pre primed too?
I'm not sure, but I would imagine so.
What main color did you use for the Cromwell body?
The tanks are pre-painted, so I didn't paint the body of the tank at all.
Can you tell what color did you use in 32:37 to add this steal effect?
Runefang steel.
Sherman tanks had rubber track pads!
Whoops!
What is the scale of the Tanks? 1/100?
They don't say - I'm afraid I don't know. Anyone?
Just found it. It's 1/100 scale.
@@Locust1e Cool, thanks.
sell me your painted set?
Make me an offer. :)
That Cromwell just looked like a dirty mess, maybe it'd be better to leave them primed. If it ain't broke, don't fix it......
